  • Breeders often say that they have rare pocket beagle puppies for sale. In reality, they are just trying to sell normal beagle puppies at a higher price. In fact, Pocket Beagles are extinct now. But how and why did Pocket Beagles go extinct? We will find out in this video.

    I am a beagle owner myself and raising him was the toughest thing as there was hardly any beagle specific information on the internet. So I took it on me and decided to share all the knowledge that I learned the hard way. In my videos, I cover all kinds of topics related specifically to beagles. So make sure to subscribe to our channel as I upload 2 videos every week.

    Yes tiny dogs are cute, but as said they have more health complications. We have a Beagle and just adore him. We are actually on a rescue list for Beagles.

    I am part of the Pocket Beagle heirloom breed restoration project, and it's a rare breed, but 100% alive and well. It turns out that a whole bunch of people who emigrated to the various ends of the British empire, took their tiny beagles with them. Smaller ones did better on boats, and we are finding new lines in obscure places all the time.

    Always called them 12 inch beagles, still around but hard to find. I have a one year old little girl thats 11 inches and she is a hunting dog. Hunts squirrel, blood trails deer, and just recently jumped a 100 pound wild pig and was after it till I caught her. And is constantly got her nose to the ground

    I didn't realize they were extinct. Poor babies! But just join the ranks that there are so many extinct animals compared to how many are here.

      I also think using the word "extinct" in the title is a bit misleading as well, but I understand the need for clicks. I too own a "pocket" beagle, or more commonly known as a miniature beagle. Purebred from his parents, Barry has been my best friend for almost 10 years now. I just dont think they're as common as your standard beagle/mix.

      Also it’s not an extinct animal it’s an extinct “breed”. … but they’re not even that 😂

      Buddy, pocket beagles are extinct. The seller might have told you that it's a pocket beagle, but trust me it's not, breeders and sellers often do this to increase the price of their puppies.

      then explain the beagles who are short and weigh less. will you call them dwarf beagles?? @@BeagleCare

    • @MsBhappy
      @MsBhappy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ankitaa42506they're called pocket beagles because of breeders attempting to recreate the original pocket beagles breed that ended over a hundred years ago. However, modern pocket beagles are not a breed of their own so aren't authentic pocket beagles. Quite often beagles of this size are only short by virtue of shortened legs caused by poor breeding or the dwarfing of chondodystrophy.
      Glove beagles, also existed before pocket beagles and apparently fit on a glove. Royals in the 1300s-1600 had them.

    two MAJOR omissions here: 1. beagles are most common breed for product testing and horrible grant funded experiments because of their trusting nature. breeding beagles for animal experiments is an industry here in the USA and UK. these angels suffer under government and private company research, starting with the horribly painful shredding of their vocal chords to prevent them from crying during the Mengele-style experiments and product testing. aamof the tobacco industry forced beagles to inhale cigarette smoke to research the effects of emphysema and lung cancer. 2. beagles are one of the top 3 breeds surrendered to animal shelters. many of these babies are gifted to children who badly want them as pets, but later give up on them after they are no longer of interest. find out more with the WhiteCoatWasteProject, BeagleFreedomProject and other organizations for a reality check.

      @@stevewixom9311 what does it have to do with pocket beagles? pocket beagles are also used for laboratory experiments and product testing. the smaller the beagle the easier it is to hold him/her down, cut their vocal chords, product test a new “environmentally friendly” household cleaner in their eyes, skin test a new lipstick on his/her shaved forehead for allergic reactions, testing a new allergy nose spray in the nostrils for side effects… should i go on?

      The breed hasn't existed for over a hundred years. Modern attempts to bring back pocket beagles have not succeeded as they are not a breed or variety of beagle in and of themselves, and are not recognized by either AKC or UKC. Quite often beagles of this size are often only short by virtue of shortened legs caused by poor breeding or the dwarfing of chondodystrophy.
