      It can’t be a budget RS4. It costs more. This, and the RS4, are baby RS6s. The question was: “if you can’t afford the RS6, what should you get?”

    • @Promenium
      @Promenium 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I think they are doing this comparison intentionally just so that people would start to comment that RS6 is from class above. Mission accomplished I suppose, but shows bad taste to use such cheap tricks when cars and presenting those should have the focus. Luckily presentation itself and video work is excellent as always.

      Agree with Mike, didn't get the constant comparisons to cars in a different class? RS6, E63...? C43 is aimed at 340, S4, surely?
      And the equivalent "level" in the A Class would be the A35, so no surprise the A45 is quicker than the C43.

    Great review 👌 Probably the reason why the airvents in the front make noise even on level one is because you have the back airco temperature both on LO (few shots back) and the fans on max. That means the airco system is pushing extra air to the rear to make it colder than 16 degrees Celsius which you hear. Put the rear on a normal temperature and it will be nice and quiet 😉

    in 2020 I agonized over the C43 AMG Estate. The drive was a true drivers experience, the steering and steering wheel put a smile on my face. Ultimately though, it lost out because it was $15K more expensive than the M340i, which was less engaging, but a totally better overall package, esp including infotainment. This model looks like it would much more comparable. The Engine size downgrade doesn't bother me one bit, I have been in some insanely fast 2l cars and it sounds like they have done a fine job tuning it. Great video, high quality as always.

      True, pure EV is first of all booooring, and second, does create 3x more harm than ICE powered cars in manufacturing stage purely because of toxic waste from mostly batteries. The right answer is the electrification of turbo-charged petrol ICE engines so that you take away the part where engine struggles the most and that improves performance and took away the higher power consumption at the time

    I can appreciate everyone view points in the comments but why does everyone want 500bhp to take the kids to school and take rubbish to the tip! Boris and his emissions cronies are squeezing every manufacturer on there combined range of co2. If Mercedes had free reign, they would still be putting V8's under their bonnets. There's a reason why even F1 now run V6's.

Or even just make it so that anyone with an iPad can set up a connection to the car they bought. 120 fps refresh rate, all the tech you can possibly want.

    M3 touring is a better comparison Rory (I think that, some people may think diffrent), I think you may have compared to the M3 touring but it was filmed before the reveaal of the M3 touring... I love the fact that you are short and crisp with the facts- Kudos to you and the team because the video is almost like it's a official video from the brand!!!

    Shame about the price, also a shame it's come out right when we're in a fuel/food pocket killer time, looks good though and would have one if wasn't for the first two problems (for me), though I did expect it to be an EV instead.

      People buying a 60-70k car aren’t too worried about an extra £20-25 a tank

  •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I like this car. I don’t even mind the 4 popper that much. However its biggest problem is its price. I played in the car configurator a bit and created a specification that I liked and it was the price of an E53 just a couple of years ago. Sure, I know the prices went up in the whole industry, but the price of this is way too much for my taste. To put it differently, currently I drive the Mk. 7.5 Golf R Variant (Estate). This is literally double the price, but it’s not twice as good by a long shot. I’m sure Merc will find the customers for this, but it’s not for me anymore.
