I personally am very okay with hybridization, as it also can help with acceleration even with the combustion engine, give for better performance, and if starting all cars in electric mode for every day getting milk and groceries sort of trips helps keep gasoline cars in production longer, then I see it as an absolute win. There will also be a huge difference for the environment of ocationally turning it on to have fun in the corners.
This particular AMG also happens to be one of the supercars that devalues fastest. So second hand it's a great deal.... but buying new is a great way to loose £75,000 as soon as it exits the showroom.
This is a new car so there isn’t any data on that subject. The prior generation will likely hold its value much better than this; it’s just a dressed up SL. The last and only real AMG GT was an engineering masterpiece with a better weight distribution than a Caymen, excellent dual clutch, and FR mid engine layout with transaxle configuration. That’s the AMG GTR then Black Series versions held lap records for FR cars all around the world, including the ring. This is an SL with fancy stuff glued to it. I like the car by the way, it just isn’t built in the vision of the old one.
It's weird this car. It's an SL with a hard top and it's a better looking, less practical version of AMG GT 4 door at the same time. Personally I'd go with used AMG GT. It's a more driver oriented car with less weight and RWD only.
Has the latest AMG GT moved from Sports Car to Super Car. It's now the same playing field as the Porsche. Could very well turn out to be the best AMG on the market.
I loved how the first gen GT felt like an S2000 with a brutal V8…I autocrossed the GT and it was perfectly suited to it. This new hardtop SL “GT” is actually NOT what so many original GT customers are interested in…it’s just more cost-cutting model consolidation. 😢. Just another reason why I’ve migrated to BMW M products…at least for now.
I loved all my Mercedes and especially the final one I owned, C63 S Edition One. I decided to try a 911 and don’t see myself ever going back to Mercedes unless they get back to their roots, but it seems unlikely.
Cannot STAND this trend of putting an iPad in the center console, not even integrated, to control everything. It’s awful. Everyone is doing it. This. The Roma. Etc. I’ll take the Vantage.

I like the AWD, the Robin Hood tail section is atrocious, but the interior needs to step it up. The Vantage is the new benchmark for this price bracket for interior IMO.
Absolutely lovely car, and what a superb sounding engine ❤
I personally am very okay with hybridization, as it also can help with acceleration even with the combustion engine, give for better performance, and if starting all cars in electric mode for every day getting milk and groceries sort of trips helps keep gasoline cars in production longer, then I see it as an absolute win. There will also be a huge difference for the environment of ocationally turning it on to have fun in the corners.
This particular AMG also happens to be one of the supercars that devalues fastest. So second hand it's a great deal.... but buying new is a great way to loose £75,000 as soon as it exits the showroom.
Yeah for us car enthusiasts who own multiple cars, used is the way!
But for people with money like our parents they want their stuff to be brand new.
OMG .. is such a beauty in a world of senseless EVs with sound enhancers. AMG rules
I love my amg. Its a turbo 4 but i get to suprise scat packs and 5.0 coyotes
We'll continue bullying car manufacturers for putting a 4 cylinder in sportscars!
This is a beautiful car! For some reason I see a Porshe 928 in it's dimensions and profile.
yes last reel 63 petrol I gott one so difficult to get ❤
This car is flawless
Your sound is amazing ❤️🤩
It's weird this car. It's an SL with a hard top and it's a better looking, less practical version of AMG GT 4 door at the same time.
Personally I'd go with used AMG GT. It's a more driver oriented car with less weight and RWD only.
Officially my new dream car 😍😍😍 good lord it’s just idek fam
Has the latest AMG GT moved from Sports Car to Super Car. It's now the same playing field as the Porsche. Could very well turn out to be the best AMG on the market.
It is a bit heavy and it costs the same as the Aston Martin vantage which is more powerful.
Last gen was closer to super car tbh. This is more of a real “gran tourer” than the track monster
I think this new car looks amazing way better than the previous one
I loved all my Mercedes and especially the final one I owned, C63 S Edition One. I decided to try a 911 and don’t see myself ever going back to Mercedes unless they get back to their roots, but it seems unlikely.
Good God beautiful looking machine. 👌🏽
Rory we have officially fallen out. 💪🏽
Cannot STAND this trend of putting an iPad in the center console, not even integrated, to control everything. It’s awful. Everyone is doing it. This. The Roma. Etc.
I’ll take the Vantage.
Fun fact: the blob fish only looks like that when it’s pulled from its deep (and high pressure) home.
The strong turn-in might be because of the caster angle.
I like the wibbly wheel thingys
why were coffee beans flying out of the exhaust??? hahahahahaha
Rory is wrong about the beauty of this beast. I totally disagree with his take on it.
🐠
You’d think that greater leaps in weight-saving would be here by now, 250kg more than the old version is insane!
How is the riding condition
Rory definitely needs to get his eyes tested, because this car is beautiful!
This car looks amazing, I might even go as far as saying that it looks better than the old one.
The car ia stunning Rory
I love it
I'm finding it difficult to differentiate between the AMG GT and the AMG SL
I think the AMG GT is the most beautiful sports car in the world. The dashboard is nice.
