Rory is certainly going the extra mile with that tumble dryer. I see a new test category here, forget the banana box test. The window on the boot is probably the greatest feature on any BMW, loved it on my 5-series!

Bmw’s x drive is the all wheel drive system for car enthusiasts. When you want it to be normal AWD it does that but it doesn’t disappoint you for drifts as you switch to RWD and it becomes an animal and then back to normal on your way home
When you hit that curb and the suspension bounced something tingled ... 🤔 That corner looks oddly like a corner from the Top Gear Test track circa 2007- 2017 👀

If BMW brings this to the states I'd definitely buy one. Look at the RS6 Avant and E63 AMG wagon, all of them are incredibly sought after. Make it happen Bimmer.
The thing between your legs, Rory....well the bit on the seat anyway, is for a racing harness to be fitted if you want. But I agree being in one of these before, the seats look great but are very uncomfortable for daily use. I wouldn't spec them personally.
I have the M3 Xdrive saloon and it is almost the perfect car, scary fast, great looking and solid as a rock. What could be a problem for some is the attention it gets and the amount of people who want pics and talk about it, not a problem for me but i imagine it could be for some.
You don't need to have those bucket seats, in Australia at least. You have the bucket style merino leather comfort seats that make the experience so much better IMO, and are cheaper.
Hi Rory, You always talking about the top-end models and nothing about the base models. As an Indian we would like a review of base models for people who want to enter the BMW family. I would be happy if you could dedicate 3 - 5 minutes for the key points about the base models.

Good luck parking it in the UK. For us the ideal dimensions were the estates 20 years ago. The roads haven’t gotten any bigger (usually smaller)
Exactly. Everything about this car is INSANELY beautiful. All in under one hood those seats are better with normal seats IMO.

I'd still take an Alpina B3 Touring over the M3 Touring, especially for road rather than track use.

Add the grille and seats from the regular estate for the optimum version or go straight ahead and get yourself an Alpina and be done with it.

Love all BMW M cars. Just never liked estate cars.
The only exception is the Audi RS4 and RS6.
The matte blue colour is very nice!
I opted to go without the carbon fiber seats in my g82 and am a little happier with that decision every time I hear someone complain about em.
That's an attractive hatch back that runs its wheels off. And maybe the first BMW that those grills look halfway good.
