    Hi there! I found an USB adapter for fans (you can get 2pin, 3pin, 4pin adapters). Might make things easier. Cheers to you!

    Strange how I got this recommended even though i'm a star wars fan...

  • @nilomyki

    I'd prefer to install the fan the other side out so the restriction of the air intake doesn't burnout the electronics (but I do understand that installed it this way around to avoid hair getting caught in the blade).

      There is no restriction on air flow this way. The clearance on the underside is enough to not bottle neck the flow of air.

    nice work, is there a small hole on the opposite side of the helmet (outside) for the air to get sucked in?

    • @ZebulonPottery
      @ZebulonPottery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The air intake is in the helmet. It only needs 1 to 1.5mm of clearance to work. You could put a hole in the bucket but where I have the fan I think it would be hard to hide the hole.

    What is the diff between the 5v and 12v ? It comes as an option with the link u put in the description ? Is the 12v bigger in size ? Is it stronger ?

    • @ZebulonPottery
      @ZebulonPottery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      V is for volts. It's how much power you need to run the fan. I like 5 volts for a few reasons.
      1. If you want to tie in LEDs on the same power strip they wont burn out.
      2. Rechargeable phone banks are all 5v
      You can use a 9v fan but you will.need to use a 9v battery to run it. All day at a con and your battery is dead. Battery packs are cheap and you can have a few on hand. Just something to think about, but either on works if you use the correct power supply.

    Will this work without the soldiering part? As in will just connecting the tips with insulation tape be enough to make it work?

    • @ZebulonPottery
      @ZebulonPottery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can but the connections are weaker. For somthing simple like this you can just tape it but its worth learning to soldier.

      Is it possible to send a picture? I would guess you didn't get 5v fans. Sometimes the warehouse will send you the wrong items and they could look the same.

      This is probably cheaper and its enclosed so hair doesn't get trapped. I have seen a lot of people selling this as a kit and honestly $60 for a kit was too much so I made a video showing people how to made one for under $6.
