    i started printing my own set of cosplay from some great files on thingiverse (pulled out of battlefront 2). how wide is your helmet or how much space do you have in your helmet for your nose? i printed 2 sets and one is kinda big, while my nose is nearly touching the T-visor and the second one was way to small, poking my nose out of the visor.
    any advice? printing in PETG on my ender 3 pro.

    • @PatchBOTS
      @PatchBOTS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The nose to T visor issue is an issue with a lot of helmets. Yes, my nose touches the T Visor a lot of the time, but it wouldn't poke out if the visor wasn't there. Ultimately, no one is REALLY going to be scrutinizing the size of the helmet too much, so if you want to make it a little roomier go for it. PETG is a good choice as far as temperature capabilities. Going to be a bish to sand though. Good luck!

    Something that would have been cool would have had the macro-binoculars actually have the functionality of binoculars. Not sure how you could have done it, but that would have been cool and added some more use to them.

    • @PatchBOTS
      @PatchBOTS  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You say that like I didn't try :) Yeah, I thought about that stuff long and hard. Long story short with that strip at the front it makes even the best layed plans "okay" at best. So why ad all that weight and work? I may or may not be cooking up something cool for the helmet when we revisit the electronics in the Com-Pad video. So check that out when I get there.

  • @-drojan72nd-74

    The blue device seen on 2:53 I learned is a capacitor used to enhance volume within the helmet speakers but the capacitors I’ve acquired 100v- 10v I always get feedback from it. Do you know what voltage your capacitors use to give off proper sound quality.

    • @PatchBOTS
      @PatchBOTS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      honestly for this purpose it doesn't matter a whole lot. The voltage is so low pretty much any capaciotr will work. I think I'm using a 10uf capacitor here, but again, almost anything will smooth out the signal.

      Short answer: Sanotized Creations Long Answer: I wanted an EVO3 helmet, but he was kind of on hiatus when I bought my helmet. Sanotized Creations has permission from EVO to cast his helmets so I went trough him. I believe EVO3 is back in business now so I would contact him first if you're in the US. If you're in Europe then go through Sanotized Creations. Same helmet though. Both can be found on Facebook.

    What did you do to connect the microphone and the speaker together for the “EARS” system? Was there an extra piece you forgot to mention?

    • @PatchBOTS
      @PatchBOTS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, no missing pieces. The smaller microphone gets wired directly to one end of the "Ears Amplifier Board" listed in the description of the video and the speaker gets wired directly to the other end. If you follow the link to the adafruit page for the amplifier board it's one of the example projects. All I really did was replace the larger microphone with a smaller one by hacking off the big one and resoldering the smaller one to the same pins.
