I've been looking for a reason to not pause for months - Warhammer and Spirit Farer might just do that - and I should still be able to get the $4 off coupon
Ditto. I'm really loving chaosgate. Your starting power levels/abilities feel like endgame capabilities in other XCOM likes. Can't wait to see how my units grow from here! My wife does a game night with her brother once a week and operation tango is a great stand in until the next we were here game comes out. Works really well on Steam deck by the way.
I haven't played Spiritfarer in a few years, but I adore the game and have heard that the characters they added since I last played helped make Stella's story more concrete. They also added couch co-op where player 2 plays as Daffodil (the cat), and while I haven't tried it, I have heard good things about the co-op experience.
rlly annoying how they lowered the bundles from 12 games to 8 for QUALITY over QUANTITY yet half of the bundle is cheap unity asset simulators and no damn AAA
Nice weather is just arriving in some places. Behind the Frame sounds like the perfect length to still leave time in your day to go for a walk outside.
I actually really like this month. Already have spiritfarer, one of the best games of the past 5 years. A few good indies as well. We've gotten a lot worse in the past
Not gonna lie, it´s been a rough year, haven't picked a month since feb, not every month has to have a big AAA game but at least they should put more, you know, fun games. Great reviews as always.
I have been playing a lot of Spiritfarer. Absolutely agree this is the best game in the bundle. Even picked this up on Switch since it was on sale. Looks like you can even play it on Android and iOS if you have a Netflix subscription. I have had several false starts with Stardew Valley, which I do like. Just can't seem to get my farm established within a reasonable amount of time. Perhaps it is the change of seasons and passage of time year over year that makes me feel that I am not accomplishing things fast enough. The time mechanic in Spritfarer even though there is a day and night cycle does not make me feel that I am lagging behind no matter how many days pass. Also Stardew Valley's 2AM pass out mechanic adds a level of stress that always frustrated me. Even the minimal combat in the mine gave ma little bit of stress as well. Spiritfarer does not give me any of those minor stresses. Don't get me wrong, Stardew Valley is absolutely great and is also a must have must play. Spiritfarer though let's me relax a tad more and go at my own pace without fear of penalty. I cannot recommend enough.
Wait I can play Spiritfarer on the go? That may make me finish off the game, I finished the story but was left with a few more tasks where I was like "I'm good". I actually played the heck out of that one after this video and it definitely deserved all the praise it got.
Holy crap, lmao, that "deal" with Operation Tango. That makes absolutely no sense. I definitely thought the assets to The Invisible Hand weren't great...I guess I just assumed their simulation of the stock market was what mattered but yeah, wasn't a fan either way. Don't think the graphics would have changed anything for me. Seems with Bendy that I was just a few minutes away from changing my recommendation. I had wondered if it would be like Bioshock. I never really felt Bioshock was scary (despite what some have said). Unsettling, sure, but throw in weapons and no real consequence and...well, your survival horror isn't really horror anymore. Oh well...I still think I'll be finishing Bendy at some point though. To be honest, I think I agree with your Windjammers 2 assessment. Just in the sense that, even if I had someone to who'd want to play this with me...I don't think I would given all the other games I'd much rather play with someone. Also, completely agree with you. There should have been a Star Wars game this month. That said, I've been playing Skywalker Saga off Game Pass with my daughter and that's been super enjoyable. So if you haven't already given that one a shot then I'd highly recommend. Great review though, man! Always nice to hear your thoughts.
What a mediocre month, the least appealing of all I've seen. I didn't redeem OP tango because coop only, the rest I decided to give a chance, but I don't expect much, aside a few of the titles being mildly interesting.
Did you just call Stella's companion Daffodil from Spiritfarer a dog? He's a cat! :D
Lol is he? I literally played for an hour and thought "Dog dog dog dog"... But you're right.
Still a "good boy".
@Paruh Pawana Nah that one I'm sure of, I believe the game use the masculine pronoun for Daffodil (And the wiki agrees).

I had my daughter face a wall so we didn't screen peak in Operation tango, but man, two Steam decks with Operation Tango would be perfect as well.

Please don't stop doing these. I look forward to them every month.

The games we get weekly from Epic are dropping HB into the "yeah whatever" category now.

I got it for the Warhammer 40K game only, I'm a huge Warhammer fan, although I might try out Spiritfarer as well.
