Another great video! I always use your tier list to see which Humble Choice games to dive into. Good luck with your other pursuits this month and see you in October!
I realized that the Humble Monthly deal was mostly just cluttering up my library with games I'd never play and only rarely was I getting access to a game I both hadn't already owned/played and was also interested in. I realized playing ~$144 or whatever a year I could do much better just spending that money directly on the games I am interested in, like Battle Brothers.
Except that EVERY SINGLE MONTH they have at least one title I want. Like literally after buying Baldur's Gate 3, I was like "I'm canceling Humble Choice. I'll pay $60 for one game and just play that." Then, Tiny Tina.
You clearly took my feedback on the last video when describing this as mixed and medium - so not clear if I like it. However I think it's worth it for me with the card games and Tiny Tina! The others being bonus to try.
I love Deceive! I'm so addicted to that game. And that battlepass is something that u don't have to buy! You can also earn bonts in game so you can get that battlepass for free and there is stuff in the battlepass that you can claim without having to buy the battlepass. And the battlepasses always stay too which is awesome! U don't have to finish it in limited time which is something every game should do. No limited stuff!
I had The Forgotten City on my wishlist because I wanted something kinda similar to Outer Wilds, and I love almost all card games to death. Good month for me.
I'm making a different comment here about another thing I noticed last week. There is a coupon from last months Humble Choice that you get 60% off Chivarly 2 King Edition Content. It doesn't exist on the site anymore or it never exited. I wonder what happened to it.
I still see mine. Click the profile like icon in the upper right, and instead of clicking Purchases or library, click Coupons, I see the King Edition there.
Oh interesting. You are correct about that. I don't know if they delisted it, (strange because there's an expiration on the coupon still) you might want to reach out to support and hope you get a response back.
A truly exciting month for me. Aces and Adventures has so much going for it, but the randomness means I either rolfstomp or i get rolfstomed. ANd that's not fun. But I am excited to try Deceive Inc with friends.
I'll have to find out, I love random games which give more "almost win/almost lose" results, but there's something I love about a OP run too, where it feels like I somehow "mastered" the game... just to be smashed on the next attempt. Looking at you Brotato! I should have mentioned Deceive does have Solo, Duos and Trios, so it's probably better in a group.
Just want to add my thanks to those below for a great breakdown for this month. I played a few hours of Wonderlands on game pass. It never really clicked. But I am interested in replaying it with the Redux mod. Card games and multiplayer are not my favourite's, so those three do not interest me. An average bundle, elevated (or not, depending on preference) by Wonderlands and Forgotten City. I've always thought of HB Monthly/Choice as a handful of games I get each month for around a tenner.
First time I'll be picking up the month in a long time. I enjoyed Borderlands 3 a lot more than most and I suspect that'll be the same with Tiny Tina. Its odd because I hate the comedy and find the storytelling to be largely annoying...combine that with story heavy game that has plenty of unskippable sequences and I should be miserable. Ultimately though I enjoy the combat a lot and I can get myself into that zen Diablo experience with these games easily enough. Without this I'd skip...but since I'm getting it I'll be eager to see if either of the card games can win me over as I typically enjoy them. The Forgotten City is the kind of game that peaks my interest but I'd never pay money for so this is just perfect. It might sit on my backlog for a year or more but eventually I'll give it a chance.
That's good to hear, I had really hoped they would have had success going out on a limb with a new style of game. I fear it would only be super hardcore teams and such still playing. The first month of everybody figuring out the game and adopting new strategies was golden
I played The Forgotten City on PS+ a few months ago. I wasn't impressed with it at first, but when I arrived in Rome in the game (really arrived), I was amazed and intrigued by it. The game is fantastic for all the reasons you mentioned, but I also think it has that Skyrim/Oblivion kind of feel to it, especially in the way interactions are handled. I'd love to play a role-playing game like that. I only want the FMV game and I own half of the FMV bundle so not sure it'll be worth it because I can't play them now. Great review. Keep up the good work!
The Skyrim feel is definitely due to it being a mod of Skyrim originally, but I'm glad you saw the brilliance. The opening is definitely strange (But great to replay after you finish, but the Roman motif really captured my imagination as well. I had a strange time with it at first but after the first time loop myself everything clicked into place and I couldn't put it down.
Definitely can agree with your top spot. If I didn't have someone to play Tiny Tina's Wonderlands with then I definitely would've bumped it done a notch. But we actually weren't too different from one another. I find it funny that I found Foretales better than Aces & Adventures...but it was kind of close. Which mission did you do that gave you the issue? I didn't have any problems figuring out what I needed to do but I chose to rescue Leo right after Volepain has the visions from the lyre.
Thanks for the reviews as always! I skipped last month cuz i already had Disco Elysium and the secondary games didn´t grabbed my attention so grabbing this months for 8 bucks seems reasonable. I fully agree with you that the Borderlands series has a cringe humor but for a shooter timewaster is pretty good, still play the ports on my Switch. Cheers.
Forgotten City was already on my wishlist, the rest is mostly mediocre to fun, and aside deceive inc I'll skip, the rest is all going to be played so not a bad month!
Thanks for the review, it's really helpful to help sort through the games and decide if I should play any of the games in the bundle.

I appreciate the extra info in this video. Thanks for the content Kinglink

If that's what you're hoping for, I think you'll have a great time with this selection. Especially if you enjoy Forgotten City half as much as I did.
Thanks man!

@@Kinglink sorry, I meant it's not in the store if you try to redeem it. At least not for me in Europe.

Another useful video. Do you have a Patreon?

Shame Deceive Inc died as fast as it did, was a great throwback to one of my favorite multiplayer experiences Assasins Creed online
Its not dead... you find matches within seconds because its not only steam also console that plays.

Deceive Inc is amazing and the monetization is far from heavy

With _____ in your profile pic, I can tell you're a fan. Always good to hear people appreciated that title.
Hope you enjoy this month.

Thank you for the video. It's a skip for me.
