TFS said they wanted their version of Gohan’s transformation to be like what it was intended to be in the original Japanese dubbing, less epic and more sad whereas in the English dubbing it focused more on the epicness of it.

Nothing was really epic about the english version of Gohans transformation. That talking of Gohan kinda ruins the whole purpos of that scene.

This song is the real song in the Japanese series. You guys got Gohan talking through the transformation but in the Japanese version, it was actually an epic scream.

There is no way to parody Gohan's SSJ2 transformation and add unnecessary humor without ruining it, it's just that iconic. Perhaps even more so than Goku's first SSJ transformation. I love that they made their own version of it, but kept it dead serious at that moment.
Honestly that’s what I adore the most about DBZA, they recognize how influential and impactful Dragon Ball is and don’t ruin it with humor. Goku’s SSJ transformation impacted anime to this very day, Gohan’s SSJ2 transformation did too. I wish they had continued to the Buu Saga, I think they still could’ve made amazing jokes and capitalized on the serious moments amazingly even if they were burnt out. Vegeta’s Abridged final explosion would’ve shook the fucking internet man.

Did they react to Yu-Gi-Oh! Abriged? They should since that is one of the first abriged on the internet and the guy that made it you know how he is LittleKuriboh, in here he was the narator and Freeza, the should check that out at least.
Two years ago when this first premiered at a con in Texas, I was there when TFS premiered Episode 60 Part 1 and when Gohan went SSJ2, the whole massive venue roared with excitement!!! It was truly amazing to be there in person to see it first! Was there to see Episode 30 Part 1 in person first back in 2012 and then Episode 60 Part 1 in person first back in 2018. Even though they’re done, I will still hold onto those memories being there seeing TFS show off what they had ready to blow us out of the water! :)
So they spent the entire duration of the most serious and emotional episode in Abridged giggling and laughing their asses off. Spent the important rare serious conversations just, again, laughing, and then half of them shat on the final song. Great. Awesome. Plus make the sound balance off so that your laughter is louder than a f*cking machine gun, especially in comparison to the video’s audio.
Loved watching everyone waiting for the joke (minus Mikey’s war face) giving way slowly to realization that they handled this with dead seriousness

The song at the end was an English version of the original Japanese song.
The song at the end is TFS's english cover of "Unmei no Hi" or "Day of Fate", which was the original song that played during Gohan's ascendance to SSJ2 in the Japanese release. In this version TFS translated the lyrics and composed the music, then payed a professional singer (I believe his name is Paulo Cuevas) to do the lyrics.
This was almost CERTAINLY something pushed hard by series producer, Scott "KaiserNeko" Frerichs, because he is on record MULTIPLE times saying he hates the Faulconer track (save for Vageta's Final Flash theme b/c not even he can knock that).
They also still use cells theme from the falconer score in a couple of places, as well as a section of gohan's anger in the father son kamehameha scene
@@joelmills4304 Yeah, they have Semi-P. Cell humming Faulconer's Cell track, and Gohan's Anger was really poignant during ep 60.3. Kaiser may not like Faulconer's tracks, but the team did know when to use them.

I remember Mikey being kind of adverse to it and only wanting to do a few in the beginning so big props to him for sticking it out. Glad you made it to the end of the journey
It is a testament to TFSs hard work and love that after seeing episode 60 literally dozens of times, the transformation, and especially the cover of Day of Fate gives me goosebumps every time.
In Mexico this is one of the best moments: The transformation of the ssj2; the voice actors (Laura Torres the voice actress for Gohan); everything was amazingly well done and also the music.

Okay, I was prepared for them to shit on Day of Fate for not being Gohan Angers, pleasantly surprised. Mickey even guessed what they were going for
kinda disappointed you guys didn't take that final scene seriously and respect the tribute TFS gave to this moment. Gohan's SSJ2 transformation (And the original Japanese song that plays during the transformation) is considered one of the best moments in Dragonball history, if not the greatest moment, and you guys were just laughing and saying "WTF is this song"

The reason that one of the Cell Jr was named Vegeta Jr. Jr. is because when TFS did the saiyan arc Nappa named one of the Saibaman Vegeta jr

The song at the end is Team Four Star's English cover of the song that played in the original Japanese.
The song that plays when Gohan goes ssj2 is an English version of unmei no hi ~Tamashii tai Tamashii which plays in the original Japanese dub during this scene. Unfortunately no oozaru roar here with the TFS version.
Of course the Normies don’t know Unmei no hi: Tamanashi vs Tamanshi , I expected no less and am still disappointed with them.

I think why this parody is so recognized by viewers and even other animation studios is because the writing is SO good and the jokes are ALL IN VERY GREAT TASTE! Like it never disses the show, it makes fun of itself but in honest ways and not in low blow disrespectful way to the original show, creators, and actors 👍🏻💯💯 Also one reason I feel Gohan snaps at the image of 16s head being smashed is because it triggered that dream he had in the Time Chamber where Cell crushed Piccolo and ChiChis head 💀🩸
Finally, we're getting down to it. It has been a great series. I'm kinda glad that the guys are still periodically releasing shorts.

DBZA is what got me into actual DBZ. I wanted to see what the original dialouge was
Problem is, if you watched DBZ Funi Dub it has lots of fun errors.

Eh tbh all variations of gohan is my favorite I mean he doesn’t like to fight...oh well ... there were a bunch of saiyans that didn’t like fighting on planet vageta yes they’re all warriors but some either didn’t like fighting or were to weak according to the ranking on planet vageta they either became pilots, maids, chefs, doctors etc it’s not uncommon for that to occur just let my man gohan chill and live his best life
The fans complain that he doesn't fight enough even though he doesn't like doing it and living a more normal life was better for him

Fun fact: The Cell Jrs were named after all the actors who voiced Cell in either the show, the games, or TFS' own series.
TFS said they got burnt out on DBZ abridged. They have stopped making them.
They were having a lot of trouble with toei animation giving them frequent legal problems and constantly trying to get their channel shutdown. Between this and burnout, they just wanted to stop. No more DBZ Abridged after cell saga.
The Multiverse at least I still enjoy their other content. Lani’s DND campaign is psychologicaly scarring at times... but soo hilarious too! (“Role with me”)

"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face" is a Mike Tyson quote, for those who don't know. Although I think the original quote was "in the mouth" instead of "face" but I could be wrong about that.
The Japanese scene of Gohan transforming was one of the most epic things ever. So emotionally charged and TFS managed to translate the song that played into a beautiful English rendition. The fact that you guys thought it was some sort of joke song pretty much shows that you probably grew up solely with the English dub. EDIT: To be clear, I also grew up originally with just the English dub. But did eventually watch it all in Japanese as well.

8:36 its a typical phrase for anime characters to say when things are going "just according to the plan" or "keikaku" in Japanese. A good example of this is when Light Yagami said this in the classic anime Death Note. But Goku being..well Goku, he said "cake" instead of "keikaku"
