Just a shout out to every single voice actor, especially Masako as Gohan/Goku.
His delivery of the "Kamehameha" is always on point and his subtle inflections really do the characters justice.
But every single one of the VA's across the series (Masako, Takahata, Lanipator, LittleKuribho etc.) all deserve a tonne of credit for making this series as good as it is.
Especially takahata he's the best out of all of them for playing every version of cell and all of them were amazing and not Gohan because his voice actor made him so annoying in this episode

I can't get over how clever that "allow me to reprise" is at the end. 3 different meanings to "reprise"
1) The original meaning - repeating a part of a song.
2) The extended meaning - repeating the whole song/act the way he did when first becoming perfect.
3) The framatic meaning - "reprise" as in retaliate, the attack on Trunks.
The subtle callback to the Goku versus frieza fight when Goku told frieza that "I'm bored you're boring me"
TFS has called their abridge of the Cell Saga their love letter to DragonBall. And nowhere does it show more than in this finale

@Mr. Perfect Cell movies don't count to the lore or the original continuity(they are stated to take places in alternate dimensions by toriyama).

These guys forget that instant transmission has limitations to how it works, Goku can't teleport anywhere he wants because he needs to keen on another ki source (specifically one he recognizes) to create a chain to get from point A to point B.
That's why he went to king kai's planet, it was place with minimal casualties - though that being said, Goku totally sinned for killing a god lol.

While what you say is true of the original show, to be fair at some point in DBZA he did teleport into space with no known ki source as a target. So it makes sense to ask why he didn't do it again.

@@forastero54321 Don't remember when it was but Goku did teleport in space, he came back and said he had forgotten he couldn't breathe in space.
@@Arkayjiya that was the Broly movie when he was searching the destroyer of South Galaxy. I see what you mean, but that in itself is a problem because anyone who just watched the abridged won't know Goku's instant transmission's limitations.
Instant Transmission goes to people, not places
No, Instant Transmission got o places, but those places need to have people with a strong Ki, space don't have people with Ki and stars don't count so he can't teleport to space.

Will always be one of my favorite moments. Where Gohan was so powerful he literally kicked the perfect out of Cell.
Goku definitely made the right choice to teleport to king Kai. The side lives across from the heaven anyway it's not really like he's making a big transition
Not to mention that Goku literally couldn't just take Cell anywhere else since, as everyone seems to have forgotten, Goku needs to lock onto someone he knows to even use instant transmission.
Though what he could've done at the moment he got there, he could've immediately let go of Cell and grabbed onto everyone else, and teleport back to earth.

@@XraynPR I remember someone saying that in the manga cell blew up pretty much immediately after he used instant transmission (just like in the tfs version). Might be wrong but it'd explain why he didn't just come back

@@XraynPR except the dragon balls still couldn't bring Goku back since he's already died once and was wished back. Even though the the speech did waste a bit of time, it wouldn't have really mattered because cell was seconds away from blowing. The speech was just for dramatic effect. In the actual series I think I heard Akira Toriyama was planning on letting Goku stay dead forever so this would have been his final goodbye, hence why it was set up like this. But I could be wrong

All have one thing in common: He NEVER finished the damn fights, that he started.
He did finish the freiza fight though, Freiza only came back because he got rescued by his crew.
@@rewrose2838 his energy was running out and Goku got tired of it. Then when he tried to use a similar Destructo disc and got himself cut in half, Goku left him some of this energy, making the mistake of sparing his life after he single handedly wiped out his people, he try to shoot him in the back. The blast Goku did a counter that, DIDN'T finish Frieza off completely.
the music that plays when Goku says good bye to Gohan, is just EPIC...
God, the moment where everyone started cracking up immediately after they showed King Kai's planet was hilarious ("HE'S STILL DEAD!").

The whole “I’m bored. You’re boring me,” is calling back not just Goku’s fight with Frieza, but also earlier in the android saga when Chi-Chi says Gohan can move on to cellular biology he says, “but mom, cells are boring!”

Cell said he inherited traits from Gohan.
But Gohan was never part of his mixture.
I love how similar events that happened in Future Trunks' timeline still found a way to occur. For example, Goku dies, Gohan loses one of his arms, and Trunks is killed by Cell. All of these moments happened except is slightly different ways. Goku doesn't die to the heart virus, Gohan doesn't lose his arm completely, and Trunks was stronger and not in his timeline when killed by Cell

The beam Cell used on Trunks wasn't the Death Beam. It was the Dodonpa (Dodon Ray), the Crane School's answer to the Kamehameha, a focused piercing attack to the brute force bludgeon beam. Also, the Death Beam is purple, and the Dodonpa is yellow.
And again, I'll recommend Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. It was finished around the same time, but the leadup is a road lined with hilarity.
You know what's really curious about this Kamehameha? It's Gohan's first in the whole anime.
"Goku you sacrificed so much to save your friends, family, loved ones, and your planet....I will see you soon...my friend"

My favorite thing about the TFS version is that Goku ends up realizing that he's a bad father and apologizes to his sun unlike the original.
So yeah Goku need's a STRONG energy source to lock onto to use instant transmission. He can't just teleport anywhere and small sources of energy like animals wouldn't be strong enough for him to lock onto. Honestly kinda surprised he could use King Kai. He states in the Saiyan arc that both Saiyans (meaning Nappa) were stronger then him
I never see anyone catch what gohan said when he is bored is the same thing that Goku said to frieza when he was bored
Why didn't he grab king kai and teleport to Yemma on the other side of snake way. In the original he and king kai talked for a bit before cell blew up.
Manga was much quicker
Imagine Cell detenate at Planet Frieza instead of King Kai’s. That would put a smile on Vegeta
Goku can litterally only go to another powerlevel with his Instant Transmission.
It was impossible to just go to space. And going to King Kai was the only option where he would kill only view people. And for King Kai it doesn't really make a difference because he is already living in Afterlife.
I know Goku can't just go anywhere he wants he has to sense his energy and know where he's going and he knew king Kai's energy and how to get there originally said this is only place I things to bring him

Goku can only instant transmission where he senses a power level, which is why he took him to King Kai's planet. TFS kinda fucked it up for a joke in Brolly when he transported to space.

And not warp back? Nonsense. That he would be weak enough to die as FPSS to Semi is absurd. Wasn't even the vacuum of space. ECW on hand with Tien. Most of the people present should be strong enough to put a ki barrier around his full output if not just blast right through him and his explosion (deflecting the force with the stream). Humoring this threat was silly (as with accepting Gokek dying to it and staying dead as more than an attempt to escape his family and friends **again**).

You don't know how IT works, do you? As others note, Gokek has to sense a ki signature of a living thing and warp to it. That is the drawback of this technique not using up ki. The kai version (that Buu learns) has no such limit to its application, but is ki costly (as Kibitoshin makes clear).
