  • In Matthew 5-7 Jesus preaches the sermon on the mount. The words in these chapters are life and precious. Jesus tells us how to be sure we are in Him and be secure in our faith and salvation. He warns us about the great apostasy, false prophets, and false teachers. We as Christians must be aware and vigilant to keep the words of Jesus. I pray the Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth. May the Holy Spirit be our teacher. Thank you Jesus for your word.

It's so important for people to understand something here. If you're trying to obey God without the power of the Holy Spirit, you're done before you even start. We must be born again - period. That changes the seat of our desires and our motivations because our hearts are changed. Also, walking after God is ACTIVE - we have to put time into our relationship with him, just like you would if you wanted to really get to know someone. When we love Jesus, we will love him enough to obey him -- not because we HAVE to, but because we WANT to. The thought of living a life that offends him or doing things that hurt him will be a deterrent against doing our own thing or sinning with a high hand (i.e. intentionally, willfully).
Think about someone you really love; would you deliberately go out and do something that you know was going to break their heart? NO. It's no different with Jesus. When we truly love someone, doing what pleases them is easy. It's when we don't really know someone or love them that doing things for them or spending time with them becomes drudgery. Ask God to show you how to love him and ask him to reveal his love to you. Start there.
    God bless you guys.

Doesn’t mean we won’t choose to disobey at times, that’s the thing. We can’t just say I love God so I won’t choose to do wrong. We give into our flesh whether we “choose” to or not at times

@@Brexbin I understand what you are saying, and it's during times like that we have to use the truth to keep ourselves in line. 1st Corinthians 10:13 says "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
While I agree that no one obeys God flawlessly (except Jesus), speaking for myself, I've gone way to much down the "God understands" path to the point where it has seared my conscience and I am no longer sensitive to the choices I make that grieve the Holy Spirit. I want to get back to that place.
I'm simply miserable when I disobey God for whatever short-term gratification my flesh desires, knowing FULL WELL that I am never tempted beyond what I can bear - why? Because GOD says I'm not. That means no matter how on fire my flesh gets in the heat of temptation, God PROMISES a way of escape and I can bear it IF I CHOSE TO BEAR IT.
The bottom line is, we'd have no problem obeying Jesus if he were to simply appear in front of us every time we were tempted to sin. I'll bet that temptation would go away REAL FAST. So by faith, I've determined (and God help me to do this) that I will give Jesus my very best effort in cooperation with the Holy Spirit to say "NO" when I want to do what I want to do.
It's personal for all of us, this is the path I have chosen. My journey is my own so I'm not trying to lay a trip on anyone. I will be held accountable for MY decisions and I don't want to hang my head in shame when that time comes. I want to have a clear conscience when my time comes to give an account for my choices.
      God bless you.

matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, BUT ONLY THE ONE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN"
•john 6:39-40 "AND THIS IS THE FATHER'S WILL WHICH HATH SENT ME, that of ALL WHICH HE HATH GIVEN ME I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, BUT SHOULD RAISE IT UP AGAIN AT THE LAST DAY.
AND THIS IS THE WILL OF HIM THAT SENT ME, that EVERY ONE WHICH SEETH THE SON, AND BELIEVETH ON HIM, MAY HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE: and I will raise him up at the last day"
•matthew 7:22 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? AND IN THY NAME DONE MANY WONDERFUL WORKS? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Its showing two types of Christians coming up to Jesus, those that do the father's will which is trusing in Christ and what he did vs those who trust in themselves and what they do. Jesus accepts those who are imputed righteousness by faith and rejects those who are self righteous. The self righteous work for salvation. They go about to establish their own righteousness rather than trusting in God's righteousness and thus they arent covered by Grace. Making themselves sinners before God.
    • romans 10:3 "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."
When works become a requirement you are no longer under grace. Because grace is unmerited favor aka you cant earn it. This is explained here
Romans 11:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."
Notice how theres no grey area and how the second you add works to grace its no longer grace. Its either one or the other but not both. Either jesus pays the penalty for your sins on the cross or you take the pentalty of sin on yourself. And the wages of sin is death, jesus didnt want us to perish so he took that punishment for us, so by you taking it on yourself you are denying christ and thus now the punishment falls on you. Theres no amount of works of righteousness that undoes the sin you have done. Same logic would apply in a courtroom today. If you were to kill a bunch of people one day, and then donate to a charity the next day, you'd still have to face punishment for the murders you did the day before because your good actions today doesnt undo the crimes from yesterday. Even if you were to apologize there's still justice that needs to be upheld especially with a Just God. This is why he sent jesus to begin with so that he can act as our scapegoat. He took our punishment with him on the cross and died for our iniquities, and rose again on the third day so that we may do the same. When God see's a believer, he doesnt see our sin but rather he sees the righteousness of christ imputed unto us which is why you ought to lean on jesus because he's the solution to that problem and without him, unfortunately it'd be straight to the lake of fire for you.
•Romans 4:2-8 "For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin."
•Romans 9:32 "wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone"
    •Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness that we have done but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy ghost;
So the question is are you trusting your own righteousness or are you trusting in the righteousness of God by faith in the one who paid it all in full on the cross? Because unfortunately there's no grey area. Stay safe brother.

Salvation is of the Lord and is for all that the Father gave Him, right? You don't decide to believe in Christ, that Light is put in believers by the Almighty, what you do once you believe is not to gain or keep eternal life, it is because we have been freely given eternal life. Anything but OSAS is damnable, that means we somehow are responsible for our own eternal life, ..... some of His children obey, some stray, and some just forget, and when they repent, He is always ready to deliver us again and again( see the parable of the soils and the prodigal son.

Boston, the issue is this: that’s the way you WANT the text to read, but that is not what it means in the greek. I’ve explained this in other videos. I know this seems like a convenient interpretation, but it literally does NOT mean that. The narrow gate, interpreted in greek, is the way of PRESSURE, SUFFERING, AFFLICTION, TRIBULATION. That is a much different interpretation than the one you are giving, and with all due respect, I’m going to listen to what scripture says instead.
John 15:10 (ESV) If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

It is by grace through faith alone. However, fruit of this new life, being born again should produce godly repentance and a new desire and action to obey Jesus. In the beginning we are made alive who were once dead in trespasses and sin. God delivers us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of his son. That's just the beginning of our lifelong journey our walk our conversion. We are out of Egypt but not in promise land yet. Jesus said everyone in his kingdom will not enter the kingdom of God in the end....the son of man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father. He who has ears to hear let him hear.....for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order Christ the firstfruits afterwards those who are Christ at his coming.....and as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for him he will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.....marvel not at this for the hour is coming in which all who are in the Graves will hear his voice and come forth those who have done good to the resurrection of life and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation.....according to scripture when rightly divided all truth pertaining to salvation there is a difference between being saved made alive our conversion in the beginning and being resurrected unto life when Christ returns judgement our resurrection eternal salvation. That's why it not only matters if we believe remain faithful to Christ. It also matters how we live our walk our actions now in this lifetime. Has nothing to do with keeping Torah laws or working for salvation.....

I was in that camp of thinking I was saved for nearly 30 years. What I found was that I never truly believed, and truly believed the entire word of God. I allowed teachers and preachers to say, “it’s ok, we all struggle with sin” and thereby I felt I had salvation; when looking back, I don’t think I was. Even thousand these preachers/teachers are well meaning and do it with sincerity, many will sincerely end up in the lake of fire because of it. Salvation is by grace alone. The "works" that you speak of come as a result of being born again, not the cause of it. You simply cannot separate being saved with a desire to live a life pleasing God - you can't. That's because a saved person is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and all the Holy Spirit wants to do is obey whatever God says - it's not a work; it's a desire. Show me a "believer" who loves their sin or wants nothing to do with living a life pleasing to God, and I'll show you someone devoid of the Spirit of God, and who is therefore, not saved. That is the truth.

You both are wrong on Romans 7. That is the excuse everyone uses to continue in their sin. Paul wrote Romans 7 in order to get on the same level of the unbeliever trying to work for salvation by keeping the law. That’s why he says in verse 25 who can deliver him from that. He makes it clear that he no longer struggles with it in Chapters 6 & 8. Also, what he says in Philippians would totally contradict what he says in Romans 7.
“This is in keeping with my own eager desire and persistent expectation and hope, that I shall not disgrace myself nor be put to shame in anything; but that with the utmost freedom of speech and unfailing courage, now as always heretofore, Christ (the Messiah) will be magnified and get glory and praise in this body of mine and be boldly exalted in my person, whether through (by) life or through (by) death. Believing Jesus is the only Begotten Son, of the Most High God, is our first step in obedience to God. We believed what He said about His Son, so we obeyed, and invited Him in!!!!
He even gave us that faith to believe in Him. And after we receive the Holy Spirit, He teaches us how to obey, and do it willingly, by walking by our spirit man, following after Jesus, whom He reveals to us.
As our faith grows, from faith to faith, our obedience grows, and our Love for God grows as we discover just how much He loves us, amen!!!!
Jesus learned to be obedient by the things he suffered. That's the way we learn it, too. I obeyed, received the HS, and continue to obey, amen!!!! It's all about putting our Faith, in what we Believe. Be blessed!!!!!

@@sandragambrel9721Thank you for your response but unfortunately all I have is your opinion, you gave no scripture.
If you notice, Hebrews 5:9 tells us that Jesus is the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. That means an obedient faith is necessary for salvation not "faith alone."
Of course we need to believe in Him to be saved. Jesus Himself said, unless you believe that I am He you will die in your sins (Jn. 8:24). But Jesus also makes clear that we must repent of sin to be saved. He said, if you do not repent you will perish (Lk. 13:1-5).
In Matthew 10:32-33 He said that if we confess Him before men, He will confess us before His Father. But if we deny Him before men, He will deny us.
In Mark 16:16 He tells us it is the one who believes the gospel and is baptized will be saved. In Acts 2:38 having believed the gospel in v.37, Peter tells them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and gift of the Holy Spirit. This is a promise for all men Peter tells them in v.39.
Clearly, salvation is not by "faith alone." But having believed they were still in their sins until they were willing to repent, confess Him, and be baptized.
And now why do you delay, arise and be baptized and wash away your sins calling on the name of the Lord (Acts 22:16).

You like to focus on commandment keeping & works in relation to justification before God but it is explicitly clear from scripture that we are not justified by works but thru faith. Whoever tries to justify themselves by keeping the law is under a curse. You talk about building our house upon the rock I totally agree but remember what romans 9:29-33 says. Faith in Christs righteousness alone is the stumblingstone and rock of offence. Justification thru faith alone apart from works is the bedrock we build upon as believers. The distinction must be made between salvation and decipleship. After we're saved then yes of course we are to do good works and turn from sin etc. The grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and walk soberly righteously and godly in this present world. This is a learning process...its like being adopted into a new family and immediately your father enrolls you into private school...you may choose to be a diligent student and have it go smoothly or you may decide to be rebellious and face more rigorous discipline...however you are still a child of your new father...becoming God's child is so much more secure than that even. For God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us much more now then being justified by His blood shall we be saved from wrath thru Him. We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ in full assurance of faith as God's beloved children.

I can confidently say I’ve never preached justification by works because that’s not what I believe and that’s not what scripture says. I believe Ephesians 2:8-9. The issue is if I even so mention good works like Jesus does in these passages, (which we do because we are saved, not to be saved) many who hold your view stop listening and immediately assume i’m talking about justification. I’m telling you what Jesus said. Your issue isn’t with me and my “focus on commandment keeping”, your issue seems to be with the words of Jesus that so many ignore. Many exalt the writings of Paul over the words of Jesus. This can be dangerous and problematic. We must look and consider all of scripture to receive the full counsel of God. The grace of God is a beautiful thing. I’m so grateful and thankful that I’m willing to go “all-in”, chips on the table, put my money where my mouth is, and do everything I possibly can to SHOW I love him with all my heart, mind, soul, and STRENGTH. Hallelujah! God bless!

This is a wild misrepresentation of any if not all of the videos/ the message being conveyed. You made a claim without any evidence to substantiate said claim, you then continued on in your writing assuming your claim to be true, which is known as "Begging the Question". In making this fallacious argument you've made yourself look extremely careless and lazy which is contrary to what we would assume the Lord meant when He told us to judge with righteous judgment.

    • @RobertMclaren68
      @RobertMclaren68 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@glasshousetvofficial Please ensure that you are explicitly clear because there are many who believe their works have something to do with earning, keeping or proving their salvation. The sneakiest are those who backload works as indication of salvation not admitting that logically its exactly the same thing as saying we must work to be saved. Only God knows who actually believes but our best estimation is only thru a persons testimony. Grace believers end up discussing the issue of justification a lot while contending for the truth of the gospel because theres so much error I realize.
Remember also Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of Isreal...His earthly ministry was under the old covenant...Jesus himself taught Paul...they are not in disagreement with one another however we must make distinction and understand context correctly. Revelation is progressive throughout scripture so it's best to focus on the most up to date passages for the current church to avoid confusion. All the law & phrophets testify to the full revelation of the gospel Paul preached. Adam & eves self made fig leaves nor Cains offering from his working the ground were acceptable to God because they were all of self effort and not of Christ & His shed blood alone....Now that Christ has been crucified we are to consider ourselves likewise...dead in Him and to sin and the law. We are new creatures and serve Him in newness of spirit based on love...ideally our lives should surpass that of the law keepers...that was just a shadow...we're to be focused on Jesus and learning to love others...we've been set free from a work/wage system of commandment keeping which never made anyone perfect Heb 7:19. Again I realize that some people are offended at the mere mention of works but just to reiterate once our salvation is secure being based on faith in Christs righteousness alone then we are most certainly to do good works that God has prepared beforehand for us to carry out thru walking in His Spirit. How successful we are in this process is indicative of our condition of decipleship and not related to our position of security in Christ as Gods beloved children.

Wrong. Jesus said if you love me, you will. It’s proof of unconditional love on both ends. This is where people are all messed up. God the Father wants us to love His Son in the same way. Once you start making it about works, you’ve totally missed the point. But, your works will prove that you truly love Him.
      It’s not: Faith + works = Salvation.
Its: Faith = Salvation + Works
Think of it as a fish out of water that can’t die. Sinners are those fish. A believer is a fish that finds the water and naturally swims. The works freely flow naturally out of love.

Your inclinations are now toward God and not toward being religious or wanting your old sinful ways. When your heart is changed, you'll know it - no one will have to tell you. If you've been living in sin, you'll hate the sinful things you used to love. If you were trying to get to God through religion, you'll hunger and thirst to truly know him, versus doing "good things" to be a "good person". You'll stop doing things to be an outwardly religious person because your desire to know and draw closer to Jesus will come from the heart - not because it's the "right" thing to do or what you "ought" to do. Finally, your eyes will be opened to understanding scripture. Those are some indications that you've been born again from above.

This is what Scripture exhorts us to do when it talks about "putting on Christ" and "mortifying the deeds of the flesh". That process is the surest indication that there's new life inside. Little by little, it works its way out into how we think and act. It's an amazing process to see.

You know, I find it interesting that people have discussions about once saved always saved, and going to heaven when we die, and all the things we must do to know or prove that we are in Christ.
Spoiler alert, we are already seated in heaven in Christ, and He is not going to leave us, forsake us, or toss us out. This analytical thinking approach of our western society neglects and disregards spiritual, mystical components of our life that are very real.
It baffles me how people (religious people) get so upset when someone speaks of the love and goodness of God and portrays Him as a loving Father instead of a judicial, tyrannical king.
Why is it so hard to see the simple declaration of scripture that we are all offspring of God and we live and move and have our being in Him. That we died with Him and we were born again in Him at His resurrection. This is good news folks. Wonderful news.
So much better than thinking that our creator is either a total loser that will lose 80 or 90 or more percent of his creation to the devil. Or worse yet that he with foreknowledge and purpose, created this same unfortunate majority for the purpose of being tortured forever to demonstrate his holiness and goodness somehow. Have you ever even thought about what most evangelicals believe about their creator. My guess is that in the professional psychological world, this kind of thinking would be considered insanity.
God is very good. He is omnipotent and omniscient, and His will and desire for His creation WILL be accomplished. Actually, it has already been accomplished and it will be eventually realized.

Grace and Peace. Christians and Jews are missing why Immanuel will say those words. It’s because they do not know HIS FATHER not just him alone. He says “My Father and I are one,” as in RIGHTEOUS, HOLY and in AGREEMENT🤔
    John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
    John 4:23-24
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
If so called believers don’t understand nor know the TRUTH how can you be worshipping HIS FATHER in Spirit and Truth.
Most Christians have no clue who the ONE TRUE GOD is and that’s why the Son was sent to do what?
    John 9:39
And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”🤔
Think of all the story’s from the beginning within the OT. Now here’s four simple scriptures that reveal who the Father of Immanuel is.
    James 1:13
Let no one say when he is
👉🏾TEMPTED👈🏾 , “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He
    👉🏾Himself tempt anyone👈🏾
👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾This SCRIPTURE pertains to what PASSAGES🤔
    Who is the Sons FATHER?
    John 1:17-18
For the law was given through Moses
👉🏾but grace and truth👈🏾came through JESUS CHRIST.
No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
    John 6:46
Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.
    John 5:37
And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
    1 John 4:12
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
Everyone that does not know the SECRETS AND MYSTERY’S to the Kingdom of Heaven doesn’t know the ONE TRUE GOD so they will hear the words “DEPART FROM ME, I NEVER KNEW YOU.”

The workers of iniquity are those who don't believe and trust in Christ alone, so they don't get the imputed righteousness from God. Therefore, they were still in their sins and condemned. Those in Christ are not condemned! They trusted in their works so that is why they are trying to boast to Jesus about how their works should let them in heaven. You can't earn salvation. No he's not. You're conflating HOW we are saved (by Grace, not works) with WHY we are saved (unto good works). Tell me what's the point of professing to be a believer if we're not going to at least try to live a life pleasing to God? Those two (Salvation and works) should go hand in hand - James says as much. I don't get what the arguments are around this: If we claim to belong to Jesus and don't live as if we do, why claim to belong to him at all? ("“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?" - Luke 6:46). If we claim to belong to Jesus, then we should want to walk in a manner worthy of such an incredible sacrifice, no?
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10.

❤ Consider the Gospel you wish to protect in more effort to witness your faith. Jesus heard concerns over a foreign exorcist doing works in His name. Do you remember his reply? Salvation is by Grace, but cheapened grace without the benefits of faithful obedience to the Lord robs Him of His rightful place. If you choose to not carry your cross and work, so be it. But address every command (303 in the Gospels alone) by Jesus as non-essential thanks to Salvation alone before accusing anyone. That would be a lot of eye-lumber.
