I find it kinda interesting that Syntac made a metal run at 3 a.m. in game because this way the temperature was bearable, but this actually the strategy employed by many desert animals, to sleep somewhere fresh during the day and the night, only waking up to their usual routines during dusk or dawn to avoid extreme cold or extreme heat. So cool how art imitates nature!
Fun fact: that wall of sand that you can see when there is a sandstorm is called a haboob and in line with the western theme we actually get them in Arizona.
Hi Syn! I’d love to see each of the boys build a small town and connect it with trains! Maybe make a communal mining area for metal and use the carts/trains as a way of transporting it. Once y’all are settled the outlaws could try and rob someone else’s train
The weather events on this map are insane. I literally had a thunderstorm followed by a superheat and then another thunderstorm with no time in between
The latest update seems to have toned down both the frequency and the duration, thank the Overseer. When I played earlier today they were a fun addition to my travels rather than an overwhelming annoyance.

That makes so much sense... not the cat food though? Iv seen so many people eat canned dog food (I'd imagine you mean all types) saying it tastes perfectly edible if you HAD to eat it. Cool stuff
Yes, me too! Island didn't really catch me, never has but now playing Scorched feels so much better. The constant battle against heat and other weather is so much fun and the map is so beautiful!
Here’s a little tip for u. So where u want to build your house/base there’s a mountain right next to that area and if u go up the mountain there will be a BUNCH of metal ❤
Considering the Bob's Tall Tales barrels, if it's not possible already, it would be hilarious if someone eventually made a mod where you can stuff an unconscious enemy (or, perhaps, a tribe member 😄) into a barrel, and seal it, making it impossible for them to break out without tipping the barrel over and rolling it down a hill into a rock or something. 😆

One of the best QoL mods that was ever created is the Pull it mod. It makes that whole "being over encumbered and leapfrogging items across the floor" obsolete. it also allows you to move items from boxes or dinos to your work benches so much easier. I know you guys tend to keep it pretty vanilla, but that is one thing that should have been in the game from Day 1, but for some reason was never added. Just a thought.
Tip for getting crystal early! I just tamed a lvl 80 lymantria/moth and flew to the high cliff mountain thing and grabbed some crystal (i have a base in the same area as yours).
can't wait for most of the maps to be released and have ultimate ark 2!!! It will be a blast from the past for old members of the channel. Well thats what I think. Love you vids!
If you see this Syntac, please have a page/list somewhere of your settings/mods your using. They've been very helpful in the past. Makes the game much more fun when solo.
I've never played Ark in my life but I've been subscribed and watching on and off for a long time now. You're incredibly entertaining Syntac, keep up the great work! I'm binging this series so I can catch up!
Crystal and obsidian can be found on top of the giant mesas in the middle of the map, and pearls are now at the red obelisk. There's a lot of metal at 57.7 Lat, 80 Lon. It seems to me that the weather events don't really do anything. I figured the sandstorm would drain your oxygen because, ya know, breathing in sand is bad for your health, but they're just loud and obnoxious. As for the temperature, I don't think it's bugged, I just think they changed the amount of insulation it takes to gain heat/cold resistance. Because it used to be that your resistance would increase by +/- 3ºC for every 50 insulation, but now I think it increases for every 100 insulation, which is shit if true because fortitude is important now more than ever and is less effective... I swear the devs have brain worms! EDIT: Correction, I have brain worms. The temperature and insulation is still the same, I just misread the data chart on reddit. (If you google, "Ark reddit temperature & insulation," the first result should be an explanation of how the temperature works in Ark.)
I love Ark but can only run ASE so while I enjoy my time there I always look forward to Syntac Adventures in ASA :) Ty for letting me experience ASA in a way!

A standing torch provides more heat than the forge or a torch or even the campfire. Good to have those as soon as possible (at level 7) for quick heat in very cold situations early surviving.
Syntac- I'm going to craft this tent and wait out the sandstorm Also Syntac- I need this crystal so bad I am going to perch precariously on the edge of this cliff and jump up with no visibility 😂
Be careful using the Auto Unlock Engrams mod. I was using it on my server, and after removing the mod, all of engrams were unlocked except for a few important ones such as polyer, electronics, sparkpowder, gunpowder, etc. And it didn't allow me to unlock the ones that were locked. Loving the new series!
You know what would be a really good mod for your western town, Visible storage. It acts as a reverse pull where you can build things like log sheds, set them to get a certain amount of wood and then you drop the wood off in a Dropbox and interact with it and it distributes the resources. It has custom storage bins for all sorts of resources and even a crane to pull resources from you creatures inventory. I just though it might be thematically appropriate (sans the oil drum storage)
The waxy green weeds by the river gives tones of silk, the dull green weeds right next to your base along the river.. also good luck with crystals, I had to craft grappling hooks and climb to the top of the flat mountains that are next to your base and get them. There is crystal and obsidian up top of them.
I have been watching you for years and always looked at you as a pro and expert of ARK, and I think that in these last few episodes you have died more times than in any other full series 😂 Imagine what ASA SE the hunted would look like😮

Great job on the vids. We actually took over that middle island on day 1 and have been building out and around covering the water and giving us a huge flat area with tiers going up for defense. Cool map, can't wait to make a train set and be nerdy.
It's cool seeing the devs add weather events like haboobs to SE. I kind of wish they'd have added a chance to spawn a tornado during thunderstorms but I don't want to give Ark devs any more ideas to make this map anymore brutal.

I have almost the exact same mods as you, except for the fact that I have all the ark additions creatures, the super spyglass, and the reusables mod. I only have the reusables mod because it adds a stone tier sickle though.
Green Ob is where I based up at eventually. Tried Red Ob 1st but it is crawling with bats, golems and kapros by the water. You will get to enjoy the horror when you need silica pearls.. Until you get 400+ heat resist, you can only survive by water.

So, I might have found an exploit regarding Morellatops. I'm not 100% sure what changes WildCard intended, but mine seem to have a maximum capacity of more than 750 water. They can't fill up on more than that, though, and will infinitely try to drink more water if they're near such a source. However, I also think that WC tried to implement the ability for Morellatops to get water from cactus sap. So, my Morellatops tries to infinitely eat cactus sap as long as they're "low" on water, which is always. So I tried something. I knocked out a 145 Morellatops and gave it cactus sap to tame. It got more progress from cactus sap than from mejoberries, and because it seemed to be dependent on wanting the water (which never increased during taming), it just ate all the cactus sap at once and tamed up. Lost an extra level or two, but it was close to perfect.
so funny fact there are 2 metal nodes not but 100m from your base towards green ob, they are buried into the ground quite a bit, and only give like 75 metal each but is a far more consistent set of nodes than the constant travel out of canyon of life. Also, Desert cloth i haven't found to be bugged, but it isn't as good as it used to be on scorched, 77c is just that harsh.
51:21 it's almost like the game doesn't want you to get crystal. You tried so hard to collect your reward only to get knocked down by a Dire Wolf, which is what attacked you btw😂
The other thing I was thinking that would be cool to add to art is putting the saddle in your hot bar and equipping it into your hands and going up to the dinosaur and applying it
The storms definitely need to go to rehab because right now they're on crack. Now i'm hoping they do it so the storms aint random and don't last so long or better still give regions a higher % of certain storms so the dunes would have more sand storms, the arid regins more heatwaves ect. Also i can't be the only one to notice that red ob is a death trap on steroids. I went there to get metal and damn i've never seen so many argys and carnos fighting with sabers and scorps thrown in the mix with vultures been vultures. Did see some max levels though including the prick that killed me. I hate microraptors.
The weather is pretty localized now, so I don't think the weather frequency is really an issue, but they need to update the Jerboas so they only make noises if you're close to a weather event. I don't need to hear my Jerboa when the thunderstorm is on the other side of the map. I don't think the weather has been so much a problem as hearing the noises all the time which makes people focus on it.
