I love every minute of your videos, and I am really loving this new series. I played thousands of hours in ASE, but since I started college almost four years ago, I haven't had the time to play hardly any video games at all. So, watching your videos these last four years has been especially special to me. I will graduate soon from university, and your videos have helped me laugh my way through really stressful late nights of studying and even more dark times in my life. Thank you for every video you make, and please don't ever quit what you do.
I started playing ark when it came out in December 2016 for PS4. I have thousands of hours played on official servers. Started out on scotch because it was the only server we could get on. I have a lot of hours on scorch and the primitive desert armor was always pretty bad. It helps a little but not a ton. The higher tiers ( journeyman, mastercraft,ascended etc) were the ones you wanted. They do really well. Although the storms seem a bit bugged. We never had them come back to back like you've been experiencing.
I would assume a part of the reason some creatures cannot pull a cart would be their tail length. Devs probably made it only for creatures that don't have a super long tail that would clip through the cart. Just with the Thorny Dragon in mind, if I mentally place a cart at the back of it, the tail ends in the cart which would be kind of a pain.
Thylas are on the map, but their jump is currently broken. When you jump while sprinting, they lose all momentum and jump straight up into the air. Same momentum loss occurs when running off a cliff; they just stop and drop straight down. It can still climb, but is all but useless in its current state.
Wasn't there a glitch in the 1st game where that happened but you'd be stuck in the pose? So you'd be moving and jumping but looking like a stuffed thyla?
@@NightfurySkrill_Joel I know what you are referring to, and I experienced it, too, but this is not the same thing. The jump is broken. You cannot jump across gaps, as all momentum just stops and you go straight up in the air.
Hi Syntac I pray you and yours are well. TY for the location of the silica pearls. All around the red obi it's covered in silica pearls. If you start from the terminal, moving out in circular pattern, up the water they are everywhere. I walked out with ~1200 yesterday. At dusk and dawn the silica pearls have a cool flickering blueish look. It makes it easier to see them. :-) I really enjoyed the episode and the great tames. The thorny dragon saddle skin from ASE was in the trailer for ASA scorched earth so maybe you can activate it by holding e on a thorny dragon with saddle
I haven't found decent direwolves and have been holding off on getting a bird (playing single and just want to do things at a slow pace) but got 2 high level terror birds randomly. They have been amazing. Super strong in a group, great speed, great stam, and awesome mountain mounts. So much fun.
That's the best thing about Ark. It's one of very few games that are able to present you with a truly random situation that, if you're smart, resourceful, patient, or just plain lucky enough, you can take advantage of and pull off something really cool.
Microraptors are those bullies in high school that only act tough when they have backup. If they're alone they'll run away from you, but the moment they realize they have other predators around they pounce. I don't know about ASA but I know on ASE if you dismount during their swirls around you and your mount it decreased the chance of getting stunned. Also can confirm, the dreads are not in ASA. The comments saying it's there must be from ASE players. Edit: The Stego prevents dismounting, but this is Scorched.
Has anyone though that if you tame the mother then you get the same tame effectiveness on the baby when you claim it, so if you just kill the parent you wouldn’t have any taming effectiveness thus not get any addition levels when you claim it?

best way to deal with microraptors is carrying one of your shoulder. always has been like that. unfortunately its scorched earth, so ya got to choose between weather rodent or small critter protection.
this is just a suggestion but when you build the base in that flat area I think you should keep some of the greenery, it'll keep that green color in which I believe would look nice.
22:10 I was struggling early game to catch and tame a procoptodon(max I found was 55) and then all the sudden an orphaned level 80 just strolls right by me. I was so happy
The Resource Collection stops them from automatically hitting corpses. But then you don't get meat and stuff when fighting. It should be a separate setting.
I bet they havent´t changed the issue wit Microraptors because nothing is more entertaining than syntac struggling with those things again and again. This is like syntacs natural enemy... And imagine how funny it must be for the guy who actually designed these boys.
I also miss that thorny dragon skin. There's a small node of metal in the rocks in the river behind where you got the pearls. Easiest way to prevent microraptor attacks is to ride a larger tame like a megatherium or Rex.
Yo Syntac! Love your videos. If you go to the behavior setting for the Dire Wolf(Lucky) you can enable ‘only target conscious’. Should keep it from eating all the corpses when you don’t want to. 👍
Started my play through directly after watching this vid, got a decent Morella, then lvl 95 Caron, barely got it knocked out, while it was unconscious and surrounded by my spike walls it spawned a baby so I got a free Carno out of it, lucky streak continued I ran into a 145 Argy in the perfect position and got ittttr
The ark apparently didn’t skip lvl 10 day. Also a good name for the doedic would be Cactus Pear instead of Green Apple, it fits the desert vibe better. Also syntac the Lego you killed and asked “do you have my narcotic?” Actually dropped a bag on a rock while you were knocking out the thorny dragon
Boomerangs do break sometimes, but i think it’s a pretty low chance and random. I hit a morellatops a solid 30 times with one, then when it broke my other 2 broke immediately after one hit each. So it’s like that one god spear you get before getting 3 twigs
i am on pc and have the alpha ascended implant, and i DO have the dreadlocks available but i can't change the color of them for some reason, so most likely you need the alpha implant not just the achievement for the dreadlocks. checked my scorched character and he also has access to dreadlocks without alpha ascending.
Silica pearls are only lit up at night now. If you go to red ob at night the entire floor is sparkling. Must be at least a thousand you can whip up quickly around there…
the selica pearls have always been all around the dried out riverbeds on scroched there is tons of them just grap a whip and run around the dried out rivers
The weather events espeically the sandstorm doenst work right at the moment, the stamina drain and the filling sand into the inventory are disabled wonder if its not working cause the devs didnt get it right in time or if its just a bug cause i heard on some server it does work as intended

Silica pearls are plentiful at Red Ob, and the water is clear there. Also, you might want to put your fires and furnace OUTSIDE of your house! :)

Just got a lvl 150 Wyvern last night. Granted its an unofficial server. Also you can pick up hundreds of pearls in the water directly under red ob.

Right at 17:00 when you got jumped by the microraptor, I was playing and got jumped at the exact same time XD
The last update seems to have fixed weather effects, so now sandstorms slow you down and electrical storms disable tek (like cryos)

BTW you get the skin for the thorny dragon saddle skin by defeating the easiest type of manticore
The pearls in the river bed were always a little different but in this game there's a big difference

Boomerangs definitely used to break in ASE. Cactus sap also hurts you every time you eat one.
Finally some terror bird screentime! It's actually a really good adventure tame but the constant noise it makes is awful sometimes 😂

Baby dinos get the bonus levels of you tame the parent then claim them. If you kill the parent they don't get bonus levels

yeah i was hoping ascendant scorched would be the thorny dragon come back, its just a big goofy lizard and I love that but it is kinda bad
