I work at Goodwill and those employees are not supposed to go after the shoplifters. They are supposed to stand next to them and just make them a little uncomfortable standing around. Ask them how their day is and if they need any help. We are not supposed to run after them, or confront them. That is up to the manager. And even the managers don’t get that bold. 😮
And you never know when they might get violent.

Danni, you can try nail polish on the black marks on items and most of the time it will come off..... other things that I use are alcohol, cologne and hair spray. Judie Gay

You have probably already heard there were more blue temptations. I saw the one at 21:00 and was shouting “Danni, Danni! There’s another one!” 😂 It’s so hard to notice everything unless you make several passes and that definitely takes more time. Love your thrifting at the Goodwill videos! They are the best reseller videos I’ve found online. I look forward to them and am so excited when I see a new one. Thank you for all the knowledge you share! I have learned so much! ❤

Frontline staff in retail are expected to do too much. Their pay grade doesn’t even come close to covering confronting shoplifters.
Omg That’s exactly what I thought SMH I thought it was a bit too much of a racket lol what if that became violent and someone got hurt would that be worth it then ? Different strokes for different Folks Just saying😒🤔

The lady confronting the shoplifter was security - it's her job, she has training presumably. The others that went to help in the vests are regular employees.
They need to get rid of all the broken stuff on the shelves.

It’s a pumpkin place marker for the table. It was sold at Dollar Tree. There were two more blue polka dot Temptations on the shelf right behind the souvenir plate from Morocco.
I thought place marker when I saw it.....but where does the person's name go? There's no slot that I could see

Companies are insured and have protections in place for large amounts of loss per year. Corporations are now training staff to not run after a shoplifter if they leave the store with merchandise. It’s an insurance liability nightmare. Although the shopper was stealing and it was wrong, the worker grabbed that object from the shoppers hands in a forceful manner. If the shopper had pulled out a weapon and harmed himself, another staff member, or any of the bystanders, there would be lawsuits a plenty. She could actually lose HER job for this action. All over a donated item! Yikes!!

At 20:43 in the back left is another blue bowl with some blue dish which is the same as the one you picked up at 15:34 and 16:30 to make a set of two each😊
I was dying when you picked up the fart and didn't shut it off. My first thought was, "Oh please get that either for Kari, or Sonny and Mikey." I felt Kari would get a laugh out of that just as much.

I so resonate with you about buying and offering pieces you like. I quickly learned in my booth that if I wasn’t proud of something in it I didn’t want to be there when buyers came by. I just wasn’t comfortable. I like having pieces in there I can talk about and feel good about when someone’s looking around. Makes all the difference in the energy of it all. And energy is what makes the world go round.

I am shocked that Goodwill allow employees to chase after shoplifters. I have heard from several retail employees that it’s company policy to let it go, which I think is a double edged sword.
HI Danni. I saw another one of the blue Temptations bowls, the smaller one with the white polka-dots. It was at 20:44 in the video toward the back of the shelf. That little white piece you picked up and asked us to comment about is from the Dollar Tree (when you turned it over, it showed Greenbrier on the label). I believe it is a pumpkin; and I think it might be a place card holder for a Thanksgiving table. I've got to tell you, I was impressed by the bravery of the employee who went after the shoplifter! I'm so glad nothing bad happened to her!
I worked in Loss Prevention for 10+ years and the things I saw! Many Shoplifters get mad for getting busted..... Loved working in cities where police response times were crazy good. But in cities like Dallas, TX, you could even get stabbed and police would respond 3 hours later. Sometimes, next day. Sad but true.
My husband works in asset protection. People are sad they got caught. Not repented.

Taken plenty of death claims in similar scenarios. Your life is not worth the risk. Call the police. Do not chase them. Jacket vs possibly your life…you do the math. Hopefully the District Manager discouraged that behavior in the future.

I worked 30 years in Management in a large Retail Corporate store. We always told our hourly associates never to try to stop and shop left or going out the door because you can harm yourself very badly and I can turn into a very harmful situation alert somebody higher up to take care of the situation. I seen in several cases where Under qualified associates in this area was injured very badly and had to have several surgeries and other medical treatment.

You missed another Aqua blue with white dots square dish at 20:41. Also the white thing you didn’t know what it was, is a name plate for the table with a pumpkin. At 22:03
At minute 20:58, the white heart-shaped porcelain dish with holes in the base is a “coeur a la crème” mold (meaning “cream heart”, pron. “kur a la crem”) for making a type of French, very dense, sweet cheesecake. They always sell well ($25-$30 and more for Apilco brand from France) and aren’t hard to ship. They also come in a smaller, individual version. I never pass them up in either size.
I thought it was for a napkin! LOL. Learn something every day!
Danni-be sure to buy crockpot liners. Then you can have meals with no heavy duty clean up. I use them all the time.

I saw another blue dish like the smaller one you got at the back corner of the shelf . Thought you were going to grab it as you were so close but you missed it. Maybe it will still be there if you go back
It is so sad that a person has to shoplift a jacket from a Goodwill, that shows how bad it is in America now that people are cold and can't even afford to buy a jacket. Second hand jacket yet to take a chance! Stupid employee screams at that person risking getting hurt too. All in all, is it so bad in Las Vegas that people can't keep warm and are stealing from a second hand stores now? Really terrible.
Lots of Pawn Shops & Used/Thrift Stores will keep the actual DVD's behind the counter & just put the Jacket Covers out on the shelves. This is to prevent theft.
You missed another of those small blue and white polka dot bowls. Regarding the shop lifter...it seems to me that if someone is stealing a jacket from Goodwill, it is because he may be cold. There should be a way for someone who really needs it, to get free clothing from a place like Goodwill. After all, Goodwill didn't pay anything for it. Dani you should consider having some sort of program for giving away items of clothing that may be less than sellable to people who need them.

Our Goodwill does not stop shoplifters for that reason.
Our Salvation Army allows a person to come in and pick out a winter coat/jacket for free . I have seen these same people take shirts , slacks etc and think they are entitled.
True. In my area, there's free stuff at a local high school, some churches, and community centers. Not sure what's available where she is

TFS, I have a whole set of that pretty turquoise polkadot Temptations..there about 16years old..Tell me you didn't Miss the bowl that went with the set?..there is no way, I'm not going to chase after a shop lifter, put my life on the line. Dani, you overlooked 2 additional pieces of the blue polka dot Temptations cookware. When you picked up the souvenir dish from Morocco, there was a little pot and smaller square pan at the back of that shelf. You might want to go back and get them...

When you were talking about the art you found in the last video was worth $1000. Last year at a thrift store I found a night stand for $25 and when I got home I looked it up and it was worth $1000. I couldn't believe it, that was my biggest find.

I have to share with you that within the next 2 years I will be downsizing to a tiny house. I plan to get a Charlie Brown Christmas 🎄 when I do to decorate for Christmas. I just ❤️ that tree. It may sound crazy, but I think it's beautiful.. in a way.

Well, that employee was wrong to go after him. That could have ended very badly. Nothing is worth what could have happened. Most companies prohibit that.

I thought the same thing...people having been stabbed for less..... I would never act the courageous one unless another person was involved...Here it's about a jacket and if he had a criminal vein... He could of done some really harm, just not to get busted. Not brave at all...

I have a round, red with white polka dots Temptations casserole dish with bottom trivet/lid & metal holder that I also got at GW. Very cute & handy dish! Love that teal color too.
I once turned in a returns customer who kept buying,wearing, and bringing back "defective boots"third time around told my boss what I suspected and he got stopped from doing that little stunt. Clerks need to have good memories much awareness and know how to handle customers like this.

The large pottery piece with the drip glaze you got for your stage is Blue Mountain Pottery The glaze is special. It is called Granite. That piece is worth $50-65 Canadian. It was made in the 60’s in Collingwood Ontario and the red clay comes from Blue Mountain Ski resort also owned and operated in that era by Jozo Weider

The company I work for has a VERY strick "no chase policy" for shoplifters. I despise thieves,but chasing after them is not worth what the consequences could be.

Here where I live they prohibit you from stopping anyone from stealing. They tell they have those things insured and your life is more important. That’s goodwill like why do you put hands on someone ? Its crazy my life is more important to me. Take his pic and if he was with anyone and whatever car he was in that’s it
