misty, ive watched this before but was rewatching and just caught you mentioning me when you found the pig tree. No 60 would be much, but now i know it exists thank you for remembering me
Your videos haven't been coming up on my feed, and I'm subscribe to your channel!!😭. You and your hubby look like you've been losing weight!! You're such a cute couple!
Jimmy Swaggart is definitely still around. His son and grandson are ministers too. I remember guys carrying those big boom boxes on their shoulders at the beach. Fun shop.
I am a bit older than you Misty and yes I remember those collapsing animal toys. If the kids nowdays had to go back to our toys they would lose their minds. When we traveled, by car, as kids on vacation we were allowed ONE toy. Boy, you better have loved that toy alot to keep you entertained for an entire trip!
This video was really fun. So many great things to see and memories to remember. Must of killed you Misty not having room to bring some stuff home. I love the toys too.
Your area has the best antiques and much better prices. You always make your adventures so fun for us. Mark is such a good sport and adds another layer of fun and humor to your videos. Safe travels.
I love that John Beluci too. Love the Kewpi!!! Piggies! Cool old fan! Love the bisque ladies too. A Grate store. My daugther would be furious that you called Tinky Winky , Po I prefer the Joseph animals too, Misty I loved my "fainting animals" as a kid. Guetto blaster, boombox, Grate memories! I still own a stereocet. I still love mine I saw yull Brenner in those cards. Love. Hugs to Dani x Thank you for sharing x
It just popped into my head - Flat Top and BB Head! My son's generation was the Warren Beatty movie - mine was the cartoons and newspaper comics. I know what those two toy guys said - "It's fun to stay at the YMCA" Wasn't I'll Be Seeing You the closing song for Liberace's show? I think I remember it was how he closed his live shows.
Yes, I had plenty of the springy toys and spent minutes playing with them and trying to get them to make some badass dance moves! Love your love of all things kitsch and Liberace! I live about a half mile from his childhood home in West Allis, WI.
We moved from AZ to OH and I can confirm that vintage and antiques are pretty pricey out west. I'm in heaven here in Ohio, when it comes to antique and vintage shopping. Now if you are into the Old West antiques, then the west is the mother load.
Ah Misty... I had several of those little animal that would collapse when you pressed the buttons. And, Oh man are you right about keeping yourself busy or just appearing bored in general. If we commented that we were bored we were told that we could always go out to the front yard and pick sandspurs. I'm just a little embarrassed to say how many times I was sent out to pick those hateful things. And inevitably you probably ended up with sandspurs (or Stickers as we called them) everywhere. On your shorts from where you sat as well as all over your socks that you were constantly pulling them up and out of your shoes, because the socks were crap. Ugh, I could go on for days about growing up as a child in the 60's and 70's. However, there was definitely alot more amazing memories of growing up in the same era.
I found some water toys at Menards. They handheld ones and the ones like we grew up with. I did buy the handhelds for .99. The one's like we had were 9.99 .
My Daddy loved his bag phone and kept using it long after the smaller cellphones came out but it finally broke and could not be fixed anymore and he had to convert. Lol. Great seeing the Niche Lady and as always fun shopping with you and Mark!
No - Capone was a bootlegger in Chicago. He went to jail in 1932 and died in 1947. The mob didn’t come to Vegas in a big way until the Kefauver Commission and the Johnson Act drove gamblers out of the rest of the country in 1951.
I have some springly toys made from wood. Love all those little figurines. ❣️

Yes, the horse was so much fun. I think there were other characters.
“And we knew to keep our mouth SHUT !!! “😂😂😂
Should go to a goodwill and get a cheap suitcase. Bought my son a big one on wheels for 20 dollars. Looked almost new.

Yes 1985 we had that phone in our car. The case it went in to carry it through the mall weighed 500 pounds!

Hoagy Carmichael was born in Bloomington IN. He was a Hoosier, Misty, like you and me. 😊
We were easily entertained by simple things when I was growing up. lol It was a good time to be a kid.
Agreed!!

But there are some antique places here in Ohio that have ridiculously priced vendors.
