    Good slurps to you!! Awesome effects on the cans! That’s how they should look, you gave that nice burnt effect. I luv the future stuff, been using for decades!! Works for me also..?? Lol
    I’m going to use that effect on my F-15E that I’m building.💯❤️✈️👍
    Have a slurping day!!☕️🤣

    SMS light gull grey is a dead on color match for Navy F4s of the day.
    Nice job on the turkey feathers. Navy J79s had natural steel black feathers.
    Not pretty but really did the job. When they were on the cat in full afterburner, they were a sight to behold.
    Love the work....

    Sweet mother of pearl! So many variations of heat discoloration that naturally happens on the tail of that beautiful Phantom and you nailed the perfect combination! Absolutely brilliant! I’m working on a J model phantom right now and I will be attempting another one of your incredible techniques! Got my big bottle of pledge on standby!😂

    With the Tamiya paint sticking to the needle and clogging, have you tried paint retarder.A few drops could help elevate that issue with paint drying on the needle. As an automotive modeler I use the paint retarder to help stop paint build up on the needle.

    • @seanerk5kt9
      @seanerk5kt9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’ve tried it and the typical thinner I use (mr color leveling thinner) has a retarder in it, but I still experience problems specifically with Tamiya white. I’m thinking the pigment they use to make it white has a lot to do with it causing issues

      @@seanerk5kt9 you could definitely be on to something regarding the pigment they are using.

    The exhaust nozzles turned out good. Nice work. I didn't do that on mine and went with a more regular metal look.

    • @seanerk5kt9
      @seanerk5kt9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After I posted this, I learned they should’ve been black so I ended up spraying them nato black and dry brushing a light gray over top so all that work was for naught anyway. If you liked this kit, you’ll love the Tamiya 1/48 F-14…it’s even better and easier to build imo

    Awesome. The black anti-glare area on my TA-4 goes about 2/3 down top of nose starting from the front windscreen. It converges to a round curve at the bottom. How would you mask that off? The curve radius is pretty small at the end to make a 180 deg turn with tape. The fuse has a very fine panel line outlining the area.-thanks

    Great work on the exchaut area! I notice you painted the walk ways on. How did you go about? Did you dab with a sponge like on the F14 or did you spray at a high pressure to get the grainy effect?

    • @seanerk5kt9
      @seanerk5kt9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just sprayed them on…I’ve done a little bit of oil paint work on them and they ended up looking pretty good

    Also for the light gull grey did you use the mix Tamiya recommended of XF19-XF80-XF2? Or did you custom brew it?

    Why use the acrylic wash instead of an oil wash ? Any advantage one over the other ?

    • @seanerk5kt9
      @seanerk5kt9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With the magic wash, I don’t have to wipe off the excess so it saves a little bit of time and is a little easier. I also don’t have to spray a protective clear coat on it like I would have to do with oils. The con is that it’s not easy to remove if I go too heavy like oils would be.

    Should have put the cans on your middle fingers, then just claim the coffee made you do it. Plausible & believable, especially to the few of us that don't drink coffee. The Big "E" good choice. Turkey feathers came out really nice, BUT! You use a pic of an Air Force F-4, not a Navy F-4. Will the purests be enraged? Will they send the village people out to banish you? Only time will tell. Paint scheme & detail painting looks good. Not bad for an "AVERAGE" modeler. HA! KUTGW!
