    Fun-fact --
F-4Gs DIDN'T originally leave the McDonnell Douglas factory in St. Louis, MO as F-4G models.
All F-4G models were CONVERTED from previously-built F-4E models. They converted close to 140 E-models to G's. Structurally, they're pretty much the same as they were as E-models -- slatted wings for greater maneuverability and to address handling issues the "solid wing" models had at higher weights, and the gun muzzle. The M61 of the E-model was removed and the muzzle opening was sealed. I think extra electronics for the SEAD mission were installed in place of the gun.
The gun alone caused a stretch in the basic F-4 airframe of around 4 ft! The nose from recon models (RF-4B and RF-4C) was adapted for the F-4E to accommodate the gun in the stretch. You could install external cannons in pods to replace the removed M61 cannon (after the G-model conversion) but the gunpods create a lot of drag. I'm fairly certain the G-models were armed with Sidewinders for self-defense but their main protection (besides the jamming equipment) would have been the type's speed.
The G-models were never intended to be used as dogfighters or interceptors after their conversion! I think they removed a lot of the air-to-air component electronics and replaced them with specialized air-to-ground systems specifically for searching and jamming enemy radar installations. Recon and Wild Weasel planes historically have been equipped differently from the mainline air-to-air specialist (think original F-14A, F-15A-D) and multi-role planes (F-15E, F-16 virtually all models, F/A-18A-F). The F-4 was a fraction of the cost of the later Teen Fighters and it was far cheaper to produce specialized single-mission variants (recon, Wild Weasel) of the F-4 than the later planes.
The F-4 G-model was never exported to my knowledge. The jamming systems and mission-specific electronics (which were no doubt updated from time to time) were things USAF wouldn't have wanted to fall into enemy hands. The F-4G Wild Weasel served as the SEAD platform from 1978 to 1996.
The F-4G was replaced in USAF service as the main SEAD platform by the F-16C Block 50/52. Right now, they're planning on supplementing those F-16s with the F-35 because of the F-35's stealth and much more advanced avionics. We'll see... budget concerns may crush those plans much like they pushed up the retirement dates for a bunch of Vietnam-era tactical planes (A-7, F-111, F-4)!

Your tips and how you demonstrate them such as the black gunmetal powder super glue seam filler, Testors putty filler and painting the HE 219 camouflage have been immensely helpful to my modelling and I'm sure many others. Glad to see you back at it.

FWIW, most modern U.S. military aircraft cockpits are painted in flat Dark Gull Gray, FS 36231. Many model paint companies, including Vallejo, make this color.

Don't throw that Harrier away! If nothing else, I have room on my shelf for it. 😀 Glad to see another one of your videos. My model building is infrequent at best due to health reasons, so I understand having to step away from time-to-time.

Welcome back. We all go through that period of no progress. Regarding the hidden cockpit details, what can help with that is to lighten the shades of colors used in the darker areas as well as increase the contrast on the highlights. It's a subtle thing and can be easily overdone, but it is effective. I have the F-4E version of that kit and it's on my near term to build list.
