Mettaton 100% deserved that opera cover and there was nobody else who could do it better. I dunno how you made his murder speech awesome to listen to but you did
one thing that really gets to me is that sans actually HAS been keeping tabs on you through your journey. it wasn't just him joking around, or him being lazy on that promise. snowdin is generally a pretty safe place, none of the monsters really want to hurt you, but in the area leading up to snowdin its pretty dangerous with the royal guards around, so sans just kind of sticks around and observes you, giving you hints on how to beat his brother, talking about his brother, or just goofing around. but he was always near. in waterfall, he brings you to grillbys, and warns you about echo flowers, of course, we kind of insinuate we know its not actually an echo flower, but probably flowey talking to him, but he still warns you to be careful. we then see him halfway through the ruins, with a telescope just kind of goofing around. in the core where you are running from undyne, he shows up sleeping..which stalls undyne long enough for you to escape past the bridge...seems like lazyness, but i cant imagine it would be easy to sleep near molten lava. he was doing it since he KNEW undyne would freak out at him. you again, see him later on selling hotdogs... at MTT resort, he invites you to dinner, confessing that part of him actually wants you dead, but holds back due to a promise he made. and finally, he judges you. even if you slaughter his brother, he wont actually fight you. he will be mad at you, but he will still forgive you in the end. it will take more then killing his brother to get him to break his promise. he has been consistently watching you from start to finish, and in the most dangerous areas, snowy area leading up to snowdin, waterfall and core, he watched over you way more strictly then in snowdin, MTT resort, or Asgores house.
Players sometimes also do that during the Papyrus battle. Some of their attacks absolutely _will_ converge at the center so forgetting to move horizontally can be fatal.
It managed to take me off guard that "It's Raining Somewhere Else", the music playing at the dinner date with sans, actually consists of the melody from "sans.", Sans's regular theme. It actually consistently surprises me how many songs share motifs, like how "Waterfall" and "Another Medium" (the theme of Hotland) both start with the same motif.
Muffet is significantly harder if you try to stay in the middle all the time. Some of her patterns *require* lateral movement. Or, y'know, using up all your healing items.
Fun episode as always! You noticed that there was no conflict in the Waterfall caves, right? That's one of the things about the pacifist run. When you clear a final boss for a zone (Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, and... a certain robot with very beautiful legs😘) then all the monsters in the area become friendly. There are no more battles, and the monsters who fought you appear as new NPCs you can talk to.
Fun Fact about the Muffet fight is that you can end the fight super early if you have Spider Cider or a Spider Donut. If you eat one of the spider items during the fight, then the Spider with the telegram from the Ruins comes a lot sooner
I was having a very bad day but your opera singing cheered me up! I also noticed that every since watching your channel I started paying more attention to music. I have no training other than veery basics but I feel like I can better understand why a certain song makes me feel a certain way. So thank you for that!
We all knew Mettaton's opera would be a highlight of your playthrough. It's hard not to sing along (or not crack up when the next lyric is "it'll suck") ! And that music on your dinner date with Sans ... is actually a reprise of Sans's theme!
Dude your voice is fantastic! I loved your rendition of Mettaton's little "love" song! This has been one of my favorite playthroughs I've seen of this game! I always like to watch people experience it for the first time and your reactions are really unique.
Sans gets the hardest line delivery in the entire game right there haha, really gets you hyped up for if, you know, hypothetically, you ever had to fight him lol Thank you for your fantastic opera rendition of Mettaton’s song haha. I’m told it’s at least in part a Final Fantasy VI reference. I couldn’t help but sing along when I first saw it too :)
My favorite section of the game. Spider Dance is phenomenal and we get some really cool show of character with Mettaton and Alphys. I wish you great luck approaching the end of the game at LV1. That low health makes everything a battle and a half. Great content as always, Marco!
One tip that might help you moving forward is that you can actually farm money in Tem Village. The Tem shop is the only one in the game where you can sell items. The best way to get tons of Gold is to repeatedly buy and then sell the Tem flakes. They cost 1G to buy but they you can make that money back and more selling them
Selling dog residue is faster than tem flakes. Just use some in your inventory to duplicate it, then sell all but one and repeat. Keep some in an item box just in case you mess up.
@@MilesProwerUA Minor spoilers??? Below I find that aspect funny because the main reason why people sell them is for tem college, which would require her to wear glasses to study. So in a way, she's probably wearing and breaking all the glasses you sell her while she studies.

The interaction with sans and his story is quite interesting when you consider the fact that earlier in the game, the very same woman he was talking about had a book about how to tell knock knock jokes which you yourself interacted with.

And daamn, that was so funny to hear that mettaton song with real voice)) Actually you did a great job at not ruining true pacifist route, but also I'm a bit scared that, let's just say, at some point you will think that nothing changed with you sparing everyone, but at the same time I don't want to spoil anything.. but it would be kinda hard to understand everything with no help.. dammit
I still love when the player finds out- yes, that puzzle is real, it works exactly as described, the generator does work, and it does produce a winnable maze. *good luck.*
Ah, so my prediction of you not making it to the core this episode was correct! ... I did not expect it to be because of Muffet though. I'd forgotten how tough she is! I think the first time I'd played I already knew about a lot of the game so I just picked up a spider donut and skipped the fight. But given how many playthroughs I've seen of this, I could've easily have played it and forgotten. Also, we were all waiting for the opera reaction since before this LP even started! And let me say, it definitely did not disappoint.
I know it didn't end yet, but this musical gameplay videos makes me think how interesting would be to Marco do a musical gameplay of Omori. But I'm not sure how much Marco can handle about very delicate subjects
If you buy the spider donut at the Ruins and save till the muffet boss fight, you can eat it right at the beginning of the fight in front of her and she will spare you right away.
It's been a while, so I might be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure the muffet fight works to be in tact with the music. I vaguely remember having a much easier time after reading "The spiders are dancing in tact with the music".
it's probably too late to save you the pain but if you eat one of the healing items you got from the spiderwebs in the ruins in the muffet fight she just doesn't fight you at all
I admit, I've been skipping around this let's play a bit. "It's Raining Somewhere" is one of my favorite tracks in the game. It's so mellow and reflective. Now, with the power of hindsight you see how much was set up in that scene and is paid off later. Though I will never do a genocide run, I know Sans is your judge, jury and executioner if your Love is maxed. This scene shows how much there is to this "joke" character who speaks in comic sans lettering (a lazy font), who loves his brother Papyrus (the try-hard font) and now, we see, has had a friendship with Toriel. Imagine facing him if you had killed her, knowing he would never receive another answer to his knocks. This game hits. Also, Insaneintherain did a jazz cover of that piece which I adore.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should check out "Deltarune" a new game by the same creator, Toby Fox
I honestly don't like using the spider donut/cider here, cause I LOVE hearing her theme and the boss fight is fun af

Fun fact: If you actually haven't died a single time, the dialogue changes.
one thing that really gets to me is that sans actually HAS been keeping tabs on you through your journey. it wasn't just him joking around, or him being lazy on that promise.
snowdin is generally a pretty safe place, none of the monsters really want to hurt you, but in the area leading up to snowdin its pretty dangerous with the royal guards around, so sans just kind of sticks around and observes you, giving you hints on how to beat his brother, talking about his brother, or just goofing around. but he was always near.
in waterfall, he brings you to grillbys, and warns you about echo flowers, of course, we kind of insinuate we know its not actually an echo flower, but probably flowey talking to him, but he still warns you to be careful. we then see him halfway through the ruins, with a telescope just kind of goofing around.
in the core where you are running from undyne, he shows up sleeping..which stalls undyne long enough for you to escape past the bridge...seems like lazyness, but i cant imagine it would be easy to sleep near molten lava. he was doing it since he KNEW undyne would freak out at him. you again, see him later on selling hotdogs...
at MTT resort, he invites you to dinner, confessing that part of him actually wants you dead, but holds back due to a promise he made.
and finally, he judges you. even if you slaughter his brother, he wont actually fight you. he will be mad at you, but he will still forgive you in the end. it will take more then killing his brother to get him to break his promise.
he has been consistently watching you from start to finish, and in the most dangerous areas, snowy area leading up to snowdin, waterfall and core, he watched over you way more strictly then in snowdin, MTT resort, or Asgores house.
It is very enjoyable watching this man fail to realize they can move left and right throughout the entirety of the muffet fight.

Idk if you noticed but the shortcut that sabs takes to the left in the cafe is a dead end lol
I know it didn't end yet, but this musical gameplay videos makes me think how interesting would be to Marco do a musical gameplay of Omori. But I'm not sure how much Marco can handle about very delicate subjects
[Notices you had your eyes closed when Catty was telling you she'll pay you 1000 gold for the burger sidequest] "Noooooo!!!"
If you buy the spider donut at the Ruins and save till the muffet boss fight, you can eat it right at the beginning of the fight in front of her and she will spare you right away.
It's been a while, so I might be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure the muffet fight works to be in tact with the music. I vaguely remember having a much easier time after reading "The spiders are dancing in tact with the music".
man im jealous of your voice. i hope to have a singing voice that good
Just casually eliminating the entire underground as I’m watching this
Hey Marco, not sure if you noticed, the woman sans talked about was toriel. She asked Sans to protect you for her.
"It's been 40minutes omg"
*sans loudly eating potato chips in the background*
sans fight be like:
"opera singer breaks down megalovania (part 1/5)"
12:00
I love this part
And more when you start singing
the thumbnail is legendary
it's probably too late to save you the pain but if you eat one of the healing items you got from the spiderwebs in the ruins in the muffet fight she just doesn't fight you at all
I admit, I've been skipping around this let's play a bit.
