Young and thin this is a recuring occurence in wingfoil champion , there some exception but not a lot. I noticed christopher had fone escape which is a foil made for kiting and it’s a monobloc plane.
Very few kiters follow freestyle kiting competitions.... too hard to replicate, too difficult to understand as tricks happen so fast, the gear is highly specialized, etc.... become irrelevant in the kite industry. So, kite brands pay athletes for their Instagram likes, not for their results in competitions! Wingfoiling freestyle can end up in the same situation. I believe they should combine surfing + freestyling, tricks should be less about jumps and more about flow. (i've windsurfed 20 years, kite for 10, now winging for near 2 y.)
Yeah I always like combined disciplines. Windsurf Supercross was awesome (doing tricks during a slalom race). In the wingfoil wave discipline they already do some tricks in the waves.
