This will make the diverter valve sound a bit louder but you have made a "hot air intake". Here is mine with the 034 Motorsports X34 CAI. imgur.com/hd5Y2Nc
i tried it. i have measured temps both ways. it's a BIG higher sitting with a cone without a box, but it cools off massively when driving. with the stock airbox on, the heat gets trapped in there MASSIVELY and basically doesnt have any place to escape to, even while driving.
This type of filter will only feed your engine hot air. Unless you have an enclosure that separates the intake air from the hot engine bay air, you're going to just hurt your IATs. Not worth it for the wooshing sounds.
@@jrow96 As long as it's something that completely seals it off from the engine bay, sure. If not, all you're doing is introducing very hot air to the engine intake. Plus keep in mind, states that require visual inspections for emissions may have a problem with that style of intake. I know California does. :(
Your icm packs are going to burn out this why. That metal they were connected to was important. Delete them with the coil conversion. Its the best thing you can do
Yeah I realized that the metal on the intake was for a heat sink, and I do plan on doing the coil conversion once the ICMs die out, but they've been holding up pretty good so far.
Keep the Audi videos coming man, not enough of them out there.
Thanks man! Definitely planning on it.
This guide was so terrible, I love it
Just bought a Stage 3 B5 S4 w/ K04's , wonderful cars man. I'm glad you're doing what I'm about to do too!
Umm.. THANK YOU!!! For keeping the music level to a minimum.
Haha no problem! I hate it too when the music is so loud you can't hear anything
Best whoosh sound ive ever heard!!!!
Good work buddy! Seeing your videos getting better and better
You can get a cheap kit on amazon to get rid of that accordian piece up to the y-pipe that’s what I did

Is best to install a K&N inbox filter do to the heat soak RS4 air box is best solution.

When I first bought my b5 I replaced the air filter with a normal k&n filter.... shoulda gone with a cone just cuz it sounds better 😂
yap. people who go "why a cone, you'll lose hp"
first off...no you wont lol. second of all. they sound very good on this car

You mean something like the 034 motorsport link he has on? Separates with cf plate

Get the coil pack conversation asap
get rid of the accordion hose from y pipe to maf. TERRIBLE for power and a pretty big restriction because of the way it's shaped inside :/
