@@tunein7456 Depends on the mods. A stage 2, dual pulley build is ridiculous for what it is. Stage 3 on the b5 can mean a litany of different builds. Basic k04s all the way up to large frame turbos like a Tial 770. If it's a k04 b5, my bet is the b8 is quicker. I have a stage 3 b5 with k04s and its a blast, but my buddies stage 2 b8.5 is way more quick.

I thought B7 was the RS4
Miguel Ramos - B7 is the platform/ chassis. In the USA, the B7 came to us as the RS4, S4 and A4. The only size “4” Audi to come to our shores from A - RS, is the B7 chassis.

Making sure your tensioners are in order is all part of maintenance and explains to do so in the owners manual..Audi addressed the issue and first called for recall and then offered replacement tensioners that never fail..they did not break before scheduled maintenance so if yours has broken it’s your own negligence..it is not that big of a job though really it says 10 hours, I’ve done it in 6 with the engine in the vehicle
Zombie Head that's not correct. The engines in the 2006-2008 s4s had the timing chain issues. The 2009+ including s5s do not
Zombie Head just 06-08 s4s. Even the b7 rs4s used a different motor with metal chain guides. I owned an 06 s4 and only sold it because I didn't know when the chains would have to be done 😂 didn't want the 9k shop bill

Loved my 2006 Audi S4 B7. It drove awesome on dry, wet, and snowy roads. It was fast, and I remember taking that thing to 225 km/h (120 m/h) and the car handled it so easily. It was great. Until it started falling apart. I was going to replace it with an S5 Sportback, but I ended up going with the KIA Stinger. It might be Korean, but it felt so much like a german car that I still feel I'm in my S4 ... oh yeah, it was designed by the same guy...
Could never imagine getting rid of my B7, I love that thing so much if it dies I'll get another haha. Glad you found something else you like though man, hope it still puts the same smiles on your face!

It’s kinda confusing, cause the 100 C4 S4 was actually the beginning of the Audi S6.
Audi 80 became A4-S4
Audi 100 became A6-S6
They eben changed the name in the middle of production from C4 100 S4 to Audi A6 or Audi S6 (S6Plus)
The 80 had the S2 and RS2 tho, when names changed in 1995 and the B5 Platform was launched, as you said the C4 100 was renamed A6, with a slight face-lift. the UrS4 was just a 100 with the drivetrain from a 200 20V Turbo
True i never thought of b5 s4 as c4 s4 replacment.. c4 is audi a6 and much bigger.. My first car, but it was 2.5 5cyl tdi quattro:) very reliable.

Great video! I bought a brand new 2002 B5 S4 (last year of the B5 - technically a 2001 model overlapped for the last year of the B5) in September of 2001. I absolutely love that car! It did become a constant progression of more power, albeit tuning becomes extensively more expensive once you go beyond programming, a MAF, and exhaust - well, actually, the exhaust cost a great deal. One thing even someone who hates the brand can say about the car is that the engine is damn near bulletproof. A car that was built for 250hp stock, my car, was ultimately modified to push out about 630chp and DYNO’ed at 515 to the wheels in 4th gear with the aid of two 30mm turbos from an extremely limited run TiAL Motorsports turbo kit... and on the stock head. That is pushing almost 3 times the stock power train output. Almost 20 years later and I still have the car, and I will never get rid of her. Great to see you love the S4 as well. I have only ever bought Audi’s for myself since... latest, a 2017 Audi RS3, which now that the current S4 is about the same size as the A8 of that same era, the RS3 is the closest comparable to the pinnacle of the S4’s, the B5. Again, great video brotha!
Thank you for this comment! I have been highly considering an Audi S4 since my current daily driver is going to get the boot soon. Is there any major issues you've had with the Audi S4 that might be worth looking out for when purchasing? I'm nearly a master backyard mechanic at this point and don't mind doing most work, but would like to keep initial costs down till I can save up again to make her filthy! :D
Loving that Nogaro Blue S4. A friend of mine had (and still has) a heavily modified S4 Manual which back in 2002 had 450 AWHP. No longer an Audi fan, but the S4/RS4/RS6 will always have a special place in my heart.

JerseyMikeP False. The USA did NOT get a B5 RS4 Avant. USA also got the 2007-2008(B7) RS4 Sedan. USA got the B5 S4 which was a narrow bodied de-tuned sedan version of Europe’s B5 RS4 Avant. America got the wagon version of the S4 (260hp 250tq). Stock for stock e46 m3 vs B5 rs4 (375hp) the m3 loses! You have no idea what you’re talking about. USA has 10 Audi performance cars. S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, RS3, RS4(B7), RS5, RS6 (c5) and the RS7. Oh and the new M3 is trash. Long live the E46 and E92!

Wasn't the 100 more like an A6 and the 80 more like an A4? I remember my dad had an 80 and in 97 when it came out, he got a blue B5 S4 avant... his favorite car he ever had.
The 100 model ultimately became the A6 (C4), made all the way through 1997 and with some A6 (C4) Avants running into the 1998 model year. The original S4 and S6 (UrS4 and UrS6) are based on 100 and A6 (C4) lineup. So yes, you are correct sir!
US has never seen audi 80 from 90s that flooded europe, so this guy has no idea of audis history. They think that us is the planet.
Exactly. That's why model line is B for 80's and A4 and C for 100's and A6's. They were getting their names straight in the early 90's. Sports version of 80 B4 was called RS2 and it was competition for M3

As an '02 B5 owner (Imola Yellow!), It always feels good when people come up to me, knowing *exactly* what I have and just how bad ass it is. A few mods and it surprised the hell out of people back in the day... still holds it own against most things 15+ years later.
Normally I hate the Fortnite plugs but leave it to Donut Media to knock it out of the park. Still don’t like Fortnite but awesome creativity Donut!! This is why I love you guys

My neighbor had a yellow B5 S4 Avant. The turbos were upgraded and reprogrammed the ecu. Also the shop installed KW racing coil overs with 6 piston AP racing brakes all the way around. This car even ate Supra’s and Skylines on the highway. He still has the car and he likes it just as much as his Carrera GT.

Its an amazing engine, underrated imo. You can get pretty crazy power on a stock block. Also the rear locking diff turns it into a whole new car when driving in snow or mud.
I have an UrS6, I recently built the engine with a hybrid turbo. I love 5 cylinders.

You seem to forget the 100 is a more direct competitor for a 5 series. When they entered the A nomenclature they facelifted it at named it A6.
Also the 2.2 20v is amazing compared to the first 4.2
Agree, I have a UrS4 and 221k on it, still runs and drives like new. Best engine Audi has ever made.
to be fair my 4.2 lasted 245k till i sold it with no issues except the one time i did the timing chain (new owner is building it up to 500+ hrspwr) all respect to the 2.2 still

I had a 97 A4 2.6 that was fwd with a 5 speed. Case of not knowing what I had. I bought it for 1200 dollars as a winter car because it was pretty dented up. It ran like a charm 95% of the time though. I wish I still had it. It was the first car I ever went over 100 in and I really learned to drive with it. I got my license in July and had that car in October. Didn’t get a whole lot of driving long distances done before that. I was sad to see it go but I sold it to a friend. I have more fun with my 97 1.8 MX5 anyways. Even though the A4 was much faster.

I still think the ST185 is the most beautiful of all of the Celicas, but if we had the ST205, that would've been awesome. I wonder how much more power it could've put out with that cheat Toyota had on the 3S-GTE for rally racing before they got disqualified. It wouldn't be a cheat at an import drag meet.
