Receptionist behavior is unacceptable, I am also a hotel manager, This is unacceptable from a luxury hotel, but the employee who brought your luggage to the room is the right employee❤️

The reception lady in the previous hotel you stayed at was actually too great. As well as all the staff were much better trained in the last hotel you stayed in Kolkata.
I thought the same. The employees and customer service at the Grand Hotel was exceptional.
Has to be, Grand is still the best in terms of everything. That's a heritage hotel, best in class.

David the receptionist at the front desk seemed rude by not looking at you when you were talking with her…Eye contact is one of the most important ways to show your customers that you are listening, interested, and respectful. Avoiding eye contact can make you seem uninterested and very unprofessional…she definitely needs to be retrained…

I stayed there last summer with my kids we had two interconnected rooms and I really loved it. We had an excellent customer service experience. And we stayed in Queens suite. You did a great review of it showing us the details of it. Thanks for bringing me the memories back

There is a need for management to review their standards here because having these amenities are of no use if your staff isn't proactive in welcoming guests. As seen in the video, none of the staff is proactively approaching the guest to address his concerns.In such an excellent hotel, I am surprised at how relaxed and laid back all the staff seemed to be; something you would not expect to find at such a place.

Meanwhile Taj hotel employees, they just make you sit in their lavish waiting lounge, ask you for your ids and voucher, and while you are sipping your delicious welcome drink, you handed over your keys with a dedicated person to guide you around to your room and amenities. Taj anytime

Honestly, there is a lot of misconception in India about arabs (created over the years mainly due to International media houses related to terrorism of which we have been a victim of). The view from the window is for Salt Lake - New Town Area , a new urban development in modern Kolkata. Not a farming area. About three decades ago, this place used to be the salty marshland of the Sunderban basin inland extension, and thence the name "Salt Lake".
Nopes, he is right to some extent. That's neither Newtown nor Salt lake area. It's just the other side of the bypass, mostly fisheries land and to some extent agricultural as well.

That luggage boy deserves credit
I'm a hotelier and worked forMarriott, I have done end number of check in and checkouts but trust me the guest relation lady was just escorting him and the bell desk guy was doing her job. I hope the front office manager sees this video and will get to know who is doing the real job. This guy definitely need to be promoted.
Hello Davud, hope you are enjoying your stay in Kolkata. But, as you said, the reception looked a bit cold. The stay is certainly luxurious.
The check in zone in general didn't live up to the hype. Not even a sit down check in, impersonal and freezing cold.

I expected the ladies to be more spontaneous and enthusiastic, especially the receptionist. Especially with such a cool and spontaneous gentleman like you. The gentleman however was awesome :)

Yeah man I am 100 percent with you . The hotel property is awesome , certainly for this not so high price. But the receptionists shown have dont-care attitude . Generally it’s very welcoming but not sure but May be some serious training/ company issue happening here.

That's right bro, frequently i visit resturant of this hotel so i need not face the reception but i saw them how cold they can be. The ladies section is really blunt but gents are usually very smart and descent.

Sometimes pointing camera at ppl who r at job and whose job is not to earn u more views will tend to get u a cold reception....not always but sometimes. Mayb she was not comfortable with the recording! U could try without the vlogging next time and test out the theory!
She shouldn't be working in public place if she is not comfortable with getting filmed.
Yes she should hv covered herself head to toe and then greeted ppl at the reception...that way no one would hv any expectations of her to be warm or cold...... Shoving a goddamn camera in ur face and testing limits of decency and then defending such acts. Then maybe she is a woman and should not hv come to work, stayed home popping out babies and cooking...that way she would not hv to b uncomfortable in a public place. I am shocked. Next if the receptionist does not offer to blow the vloggers she would be considered cold and unfit to work in a public place!!!! She looked uncomfortable and that's it!
