There is NOTHING to like about this trade you guys are nothing but KOOLAID drinkers. The Cardinals will once again take another season to skip rebuilding their farm system out of fear of losing fans. Fedde is a below average pitcher under team control for next year for 7.5 that is WHY the Cardinals made this trade. The Cardinals these days try to find players in the waste basket that are cheap. The Cardinals now have FIVE which includes GRAY below or around average pitchers. Fedde was OUT of baseball last year because he was so bad... and this guy is a savior please. Pham is almost 37 he brings some energy but didn't we sign like 500 old guys last off season for that? The Cardinals only had ONE PATH to show they wanted to WIN NOW... trade for a legit HR hitting outfield, One Ace and one elite bullpen arm. They did NONE OF THOSE MOVES! Why? Because the owner who's the 3rd richest owner in baseball has no billionaire ego... meaning WINNING MEANS EVERYTHING. So the owner doesn't want to go YANKEE meaning spend money to fix mistakes they've made over the past 5 years. So the only other option was TRADE and continue to rebuild the farm system and draft high again. Bernie said WIN WIN WIN trade are you kidding... the move isn't about winning. You can't put fans in seats anymore and you just traded away your single most popular player. Who do they market this team around in 2025? Lets make the prediction RIGHT NOW the Cardinals dip below 2 million fans in 2025. So why not just embrace a reset? If you're not going to make the playoffs this year because they won't... then why not continue to rebuild? Trade GRAY... do you really want to pay GRAY 30 million to go 7-14 in 2026? The team needs a full rebuild to correct mistakes unless the owner is going all in and PAY that money. So they just showed they're NOT all in ... this is a 500 team. If you want to celebrate 500 team making cost neutral trades and celebrate that go for it. I honestly think its time for the owners of the Cardinals to sell the Cardinals. I think they might be out of answers, burnt out, and they have to realize no one is going to give them 500 million to renovate that stadium.
While you may not love the trade, the move has been received with the same amount of praise around the industry from people who cover baseball nationally or cover other teams. So saying this is “drinking the kool-aid” is extremely odd when neutral and rival voices have also given the Cardinals praise for this move

Furthermore Fedde isn't a good pitcher he was booted out of baseball last year so what if he's doing okay this year, his track record shows he's below average. So now the Cardinals have FIVE average to below average pitchers and NO ACE! They should have traded for Cease but nope! They shouldn't have traded two CY-YOUNG pitchers or countless all-star outfielders.
