    Day 1
    C: Pages
    1: Contreras
    2: Donovan
    3: Arenado (no one💰for him)
    S: Winn
    OF: Walker, Nootbar, Burleson
    DH: Herrera, + matchup guys
    SP: Gray, Mikolas, Pallante, Feddie?? +2 yet to sign FA.
    McGreevy, VS2, Baker, + 1 of Saggese or Siani start season in minors. Up quickly though. Probably a couple cheap bats they hope to flip end up on roster is where that thought comes from.

    At least offer Fedde a 2 yr for $22 million extension first if he turns it down trade him off.
    Trade Helsley for prospects. You can probably get 3 top 30 prospects from a team.
    Trade Nolan just get the best PKG you can get while not paying down any of the contract or as little as possible.
    As of now VS2 is not ready in my opinion.
    Roddy Munoz acquired a week or so ago could close he has the stuff for it, but he needs some work.
    Gomez who they recently picked could be a potential bullpen guy
    Barrero who they just picked up yesterday looks like a stud athlete a former Reds minor league player of the year. He is a right handed power hitter. He can play SS and CF. Was he picked up to be given a chance to play in CF?

    Goold said they would look to acquire a tentpole bat for CF? Did I hear that right?
    If so, expect them to go after Luis Robert Jr. Tentpole usually means “centerpiece” or “buzz generating”. The team said they plan to be competitive, then are re-tooling not rebuilding. They still have Gray and Contreras. Robert is controllable for 3 years I think, and relatively affordable. CF talent in the org kinda sucks so if healthy, Robert provides a young, elite bat in the position. They’re also supposedly keeping Helsley, which you only do if you’re planning to make a run at the division, which you rightly pointed out is wide open.
    Robert’s value is kinda low, but ChiSox are still open to trading him before it gets any lower and they lose him for nothing (you don’t pick up a 20 million option on a guy who doesn’t stay healthy for you). Now, he was bad last year, but that team is dire. Maybe a change of scenery in STL reinvigorates him and you hope he stays healthy.

    Ryan Helsley will be traded. Mo can’t give his strategy away. That would be foolish. Just don’t be surprised what they get back. It won’t be as much as people think.

      I think we get a top prospect and a couple of long shots

    • @cornelltaylor6208
      @cornelltaylor6208 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Agreed...only having one year of control will limit the return....if you have to hold him until trade deadline or even offer the QO next offseason to ensure you get a comp pick back, those are fine too. Injury risk is a concern but don't take 75 cents on the dollar due to fear

      @@cornelltaylor6208 teams that wanna win don’t care about prospects if they think they can win.

    It says alot that you didn't even consider Steven Matz when considering how lucky the Cards were in avoiding injuries to the starting rotation. Its like a given he won't be there.

  • @YouMama1777
    @YouMama1777 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Waiting to the deadline might not be terrible w Helsley. They managed him well last year. You could mamnge him even more this yr since you are prioritizing development over contention... I would keep Matz as the Swing Man. You never know. Libertore could up the closer... I would 100% move arenado to open up 3rd ... I would trade Fedde for the right return. If not. He is so cheap, keep him as the 3 ... Gray Pallante Fedde McGreevy... and Mikolas as the place Holder for Mathews or Gracefo... I think the same w Siani. He is good 4th outfielder and yeah. If I am the Yankees, I would much rather have Siani in CF than Verdugo in LF

    The youth movement has enough talent 2 b very competitive in 2025,but helsley is needed as he was the main reason 4 most of cardinals wins

    Trading Helsley will all be predicated on the other closers that could also be in the market. Patience may be the best approach to see if a team becomes desperate.

    Saying they will keep Helsley is just posturing

    • @1rayljr
      @1rayljr 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Absolutely. And not a single one of the other 29 teams in MLB believes that the Cardinals are keeping him.

    Outside the box. Steven Matz as the closer next year.

    Mo is a fool to not trade Helsley! There is no reason to keep him.
    We will be able to get a ton of top prospects for him.
    I will be glad when Mo is gone. He makes me want to vomit.

    • @jimforbes8250
      @jimforbes8250 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with trading him, and they will. Just don’t be surprised by how “little” they get back. Closers will not get the same back as a top flight starter.

    Cardinals just playing poker. Trying to drive the offers up. At some point someone will make an adequate offer, even if it is spring training. That said. It has been said the ownership likes stars on the team. Helsley is definitely one of those on this team.

    I think he's saying that to increase his value. If it is true then go out and sign some people then to get to the play-offs. I don't get what he's doing then if they keep him. No sense as usual.

    8:50 In - NO!!!!! Don't trade away Fedde!!! You've got a No. 2 caliber SP for $7.5Mil. and you're going to TRADE HIM?!?!?!?!?! He's young enough to extend if he pitches as well as last year!!!
