9:15 Blake Snell has always been elite in the second half. First halves have ruined many seasons for him. But I can’t think of one year he wasn’t elite at the end of the year. The reason for this is because he struggles with control and it takes time for him to find his rhythm, but he always does. So for the Cardinals he doesn’t make sense because they have to fight for the playoffs and his first half struggles will hurt them. But for the Dodgers they only need him to be elite for October, and the playoffs are in the second half

5:20 4 billion of that 8 billion goes towards revenue sharing. So it’s really a 4 billion 25 year deal.

It’s not Soto that cardinal fans should be worried about the Dodgers getting. And that’s not gonna happen he wants to be on the East Coast. It’s Roki plus them trading their top 5 farm system for guys with multiple years of control left that should worry them. Explain to me why the Dodgers have the fifth ranked farm system and the Cardinals have the 19th when the Dodgers usually only pick once in the top hundred?

  • @johndurrer7869
    @johndurrer7869 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

4:00 No it’s because they know that the player will never pick them over far better options. Maybe if the Cardinals had an elite farm system and spent their money better they would be more attractive to the top market guys

Are we still just ignoring that Trevor Bauer hasn’t been convicted and 2 of the 4 women were lying and another was lying in another related case? Does he deserve the moniker of “he who shall not be named”? He should be back in the MLB. He was totally screwed and the false accusers should be in prison.

Sandy yapping about Cardinals assuming risk. Buddy they’re paying Mikolas and Matz close to $30 million per. Arenado and Goldschmidt combined for like $50 mil. Add in Contreras and those 5 players were making close to $100 mil. Wanted to add grays 3/$75 mil but it’s a low number for year one.

Why are 90% of comments on the comments about the Dodgers? Sure hopefully mlb will eventually eliminate differed money but Snell could easily flame out. *edit great point from Andrew to point out Snell is inconsistent and not as good as he’s being talked about. People acting like the dodgers just signed Paul Skenes

  • @SuperfluousP

The delusion of fans of big market teams is ridiculous. I dont blame the Dodgers for playing within the rules but to act like smaller market teams can take on the risk that the dodgers have is a terrible take. The Cardinals two highest paid players not playing well are part of the reason the team is aweful. If the dodgers had two high paid players stink, they still have 4 or 5 more high paid players to pick up the slack.

Don’t care where he plays. Just please eat the money and ship Arenado. Anywhere. As for the Dodgers, hope for them and their fans. Dewitt is the 7th richest owner on the game. He could easily spend more. The stadium would be full and the aura around the team would be energized. Shame he isn’t a whale that loves the game like we do. We would invest more to ensure the best possible product on the field. When you have fu money you can take losses here and there. Thinking we would be happy to take losses to attempt to provide the best product on the field. MLB needs to replace the cheap owners with whales who actually love their team. No cap, but a salary floor is needed.

An owners wealth and team wealth are 2 different things. Owners don't spend their own money to make the team better, but rather team revenue that comes in from tv deals. He is wealthy personally but the team doesn't bring in nearly as much revenue as LA. The majority of revenue that a team brings in comes from tv deals. Cards don't have the tv deals that LA has. They care about this team and want it to win(key part), but they can't operate the way LA does. They've got to find other ways to win, and that is smart drafting and developing paired with smart deals/trades.They are running a business at the end of the day and they aren't going to make moves that are unrealistic financially. The team revenue just isn't there and never will be. I'm not saying they are a poverty franchise by any means. They prob do make more revenue than they let on but it's not stupid unlimited money like LA.

Cards had 2 HOF infielder, the best closer in baseball, one of the best hitting catchers in baseball, and a cy young caliber starter. Yes thats not dodgers level, but most analysts put us #1 in the central at the start of the season. Thats our goal, not spending dodgers money, we win differently

  • @teambigv

Instead of a hard cap say if a team spends over a certain yearly amount of money on player payroll they have to forfeit their top 5 draft picks in the MLB draft and they would not be allowed to aquire another teams draft picks under any circumstance. As for a floor each team should have to spend $100 million on player payroll or forfeit their 3rd and 4th rd picks in the MLB draft and they couldn't acquire another teams pick under any circumstance.

It sucks that this is the way the Goldenado era ends but it is best for everyone if they just move on. Keeping them would prolong the needed reset and would take playing time away from guys they NEED to see play. I HATE it to the core and I wish both of them could have retired in STL but this has to happen to get us back to competing as soon as possible. Love them both but if getting rid of them speeds along this reset, it's got to happen. Cardinals hate losing more than anything else, so it's in their best interest to speed this along as quickly as they can.

It's ridiculous and it's turning people off to baseball. Small market teams are at a huge disadvantage. If the Dodgers minor league is so great why do they need these huge mega deals with free agents? Why play the season? If they get Soto as well I will say bye to baseball and I'm a 60 year fan.

  • @1rayljr

You are never going to convince fans of mega organizations like the Dodgers and Yankees that there is a competitive imbalance in MLB. Sure, a few mid to low market teams will have a run for 2-3 years every 20 years or so.... and then promptly have to sell off the players they developed and go back into the cellar. You're too emotionally involved in the Dodgers to have a rational impartial discussion on the topic. FYI: How many home grown stars / players do the Dodgers have?

I doubt he ever makes it back to the majors, especially for LA. We should have traded him after the first year of success. We never trade high, it's Carlson syndrome. I said it at the time. You trade Helsey because he is at the top of his trade value, not because we don't like him. Don't care about the manager as much as some people. We got rid of Joe Torre because we didn't think he could win, then he went to the Yankees and got 4 rings.Craig Counsell is the prime example, the Brewers lost him and Corbin Burnes yet still won the Central. We can compete next year without Goldschmidt and Arenado, if we select the right players. I keep Gray, Fedde and either through trade or free agency get a starter as good or better than Gray. This along with the kids like Pallante etc...keep us in games while players like Gorman and Walker become the players offensively they should be. Along with Contreras, Burleson, Donovan, Nootbar etc...should keep us in contention for the Central. Hence and Hjerpe should be ready for the pen, if not rotation. To replace Kittredge and even JoJo while he has high trade value. I'm an Old Cardinal fan who enjoys your show.❤
