I agree. Scott isn't ready. I'll be happy for him to prove me wrong. They just signed Jose Barrero today he can play SS and CF. I'm sure its just to add to minor league depth, but the kid is a stud athlete I'm hoping our new system can make something out of him.
BDW said they were "excited" to tell us that the emphasis would not be on the big league club, and that they were slashing payroll to use toward player development. If they contend it will be because of luck.
Depends on Walker Noot and Gorman. They need 80 bombs between them ... and what the Rotation works out to be ... Gray Fedde Pallante Mathews McGreevy/Mikolas. If it works out that way. Probably isnt terrible ... I woulď trade Helsley if I can get a good prospect and use him to unload Arenado w most or his contract ... Herrera at catcher is a plus. Winn is a star ... Contreras Burelson and Baker carouseling between 1st and DH is good. Donovan is fine. Siani/Scoot is fine ... I think Libertore could close / excel w a 1 inning empty the tank approach ... w matz taking over the swing role.
Two things. #1. Mo being disappointed with triple A pitcher development after he neutered player development is absolutely vile #2. Everyone but Andrew is wrong about the difference between 2023 and 2024. 2023 they sold off and phoned in the last third of the season. If 23 would have acquired something and fought to the last game they would have ended up with 74, 75, 76 games or more. On the flipside, the 24 team went in and fought to the last game even though they were out of contention just to avoid the back to back losing seasons. The 24 team essentially Stat padded at the end of the game or win padded at the end of the season so you can't compare their records because they had different philosophies. 23 and 24 on the same set of philosophies are probably only 5 - 6 games different. #3. 2025 whatever you guys think they team will take steps forward will be countered by the saves lost from trading helsly. The record won't be better because of that fact. If the team took a step forward AND had helsly then yes they could be better. But without him 83 wins is the ceiling and 76 is probably the floor.
Idk how Sandy thinks the 2023 team was A LOT WORSE THAN THIS CURRENT TEAM?? Walker, Scott, Siani, Gorman, Saggese, Pages, Baker, even Burleson, and Herrera. How can you act like so much unproven talent is good? Gray, Fedde, Palante, and who? A young guy who pitched a nice couple of games? I’m sure that won’t backfire.
20:00 In - - - '25 WILL pretty much BE '23!!! Biggest difference in '24 vs. '23 was the Pitching.....BOTH the Rotation AND the 'pen!!! MAYBE '25 could be better than '23, but that would ONLY be due to a likely better rotation.
If a few guys can turn it around gorman walker noot to go along with more progressions of winn whos great Burleson herrera siani with his elite defense solid role veterans lik Donovan contereas good bench baker scott sagesse pages sonny grey back to ace an young up n comers pallante mcgreevy an fedde mayb with helsly possibly back as closer then yes we could absolutely have a possibility to contend !! Go cardinals 💙
If you are counting on Gorman to do anything except keep striking out, then you are getting to be seriously disappointed. The guy is a total loser and a waste of a roster spot.
I’m hoping the kids make all the naysayers eat their words. Go Cardinals. Want to see Wetherholt at 2B and Matthews added to the rotation. Hoping the best for Gorman/3B and Jordan LF. Go Cardinals.
Victor Scott looked BETTER THAN WALKER!!!!!!! 46:30 In Siani was a detriment late in the year - an ABSOLUTE HOLE w/ the Bat!!! Sensible 1 - 9 Lineup to start the year..... 1. M. Winn, SS 2. Br. Donovan, 3B 3. I. Herrera, C 4. W. Contreras, 1B 5. Al. Burleson, DH 6. Nootbaar, LF 7. Jor. Walker, RF 8. Saggese, 2B 9. V. Scott II, CF...................MAYBE Gorman could steal 2B or 3B and Saggese goes to the Bch. as a Util. player.
Regarding Katie woo, what the heck is up with this new thought of “ohh there was immense internal pressure to win” okay? Why does media baby the Cardinals so much?
27:50 In - HOW DO YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT RYAN FERNANDEZ?!!?!?!?! I Said it before, I'll say it again.....he had somewhere between a 5.75 to 6 ERA from late June on!!!!!!!
13:30 In. - Some of you didn't like Helsley as he was coming up? Sorry, but he was NEVER like Pallante.......I'm surprised he was given another chance!!!!!
One of the ones you three like to point to in feeling good about the 'pen is Ryan Fernandez.....had like a 6-ERA from late June on!!!!!!

Nootbaar increase his risk of getting hurt in center field. Andrew is right, this is Victor Scott's job.
9:55 Andrew 🐐 I would always get so frustrated when local media would lie say what great leaders Goldschmidt and Arenado are behind the scenes.
Good dudes but not leaders

Why not sign some lottery ticket bullpen arms to try and trade at the dead line?

@georgesouthwick7000 I'm not counting on anything Bubba if u read it said we needed him to improve so that's calld hoping not counting on lol duhhh
Go watch Bernie's "Noot should bat lead off" video. He makes a pretty strong case.
Nothing but love for the show but I can't be the only one who thinks Sandy looks exactly like George Michael!

Can the Cardinals contend in 2025? Yes, they can contend for last place in the NL Central.
They re rebuilding.what do you think?
29:50 In - WHY DO YOU LIKE RYAN FERNANDEZ SO MUCH?!?!?!?!?!?! Fernandez had a near 6 ERA the last 3 1/2 MONTHS!!!!!!
Us contend? 😂😂😂 Never ever. 😂😂😂
