@bartbotsimpsonbah! Wench should have known better. Woman had a beautiful home, money to spend, didn’t want for anything. Couldn’t have a bloody brew ready for her tommy?
@bartbotsimpsonbah! She should have had it brewed! What kind of woman doesn’t take care of her man who provided her with a beautiful home, gardens, vehicles, steam engines that the King envies!
Knew him when I was a kid growing up in Bolton. Smashing fella, one of the best. Would say take from us too soon....however he says you only fall off a 300foot chimney ONCE. So we were lucky to have him for 66 years I suppose.
I often wonder how was he able to make all of those series from 1999 up until his death. Maybe most of them were filmed at the same time and were just edited into separate TV series with different titles. Most people suffering a terminal illness would be advised by their doctor to rest, and in many cases have to go into an hospice, which is what happened to my dad when he was seriously ill with cancer, but it seems Fred didn't need to do that.
Fred's house should have been bought by the local council and made into a heritage site for future generations. YOU OWED HIM THAT. Anyone connected to council reading this...HUGE SHAME ON YOU. YOU ARE DISGUSTING.
Is this from the DVD release or from a BBC broadcast recording?. I have the original BBC broadcast on tape from 2005, and the picture is in a 4x3 (full screen) aspect display, and I'm assuming for the DVD releases and repeated broadcasts on the various freeview channels they have stretched the picture to fit widescreen TVs.
Total legend, I can’t believe the house and engines were not purchased to keep them as a museum. I would have loved to visit.
It makes me so happy to know he finished his tractor.
What a lovely man... could listen to him talk an tell stories all day... God bless you
Freds house should have been turned into a small museum with all his engines on show we can't find money for that but have endless pockets for war
Thank you for uploading all of these
Every now and then I come back and shed a tear or two whilst watching my hero..
He went out doing what he loved, who could ask for more.

What a lot of people didn't know was Fred Dibnah was dying of cancer when he made this series . Brave man .
His determination to get the job done with all that hanging over him is truly heroic!

The only people who wouldn't know this are those who were not listening to the narrator at the beginning who told us this fact

I totally agree with you, all the best 2u..👍🇺🇲🗽🏴👍
what happened?
It was. It closed a few years back due to lack of visitors and therefore lack of funds to maintain it. It was sold and all equipment was auctioned.
@@FannyShmellar that's sad man! So it was opened as a heritage site after he died? Can't believe they auctioned off all his gear!
Swarfega... A long forgotten green paste.
I have a tub under the kitchen sink. Nothing better for getting hands clean.
