During the time of this documentary there were still a few pits in operation, Open cast, levels, even deep shaft mines. Tower colliery in Wales, I live in South Wales valleys and there were still a couple of levels in operation, I mean out of Wales you had the deep shaft pit Kellingley colliery up north and probably a few others but NOW I think the only mine operating is the open cast in Merthyr Tydfil and that's due to close.
Beautiful.
A DREAM CHANNEL.
And a huge service to the memory of Fred.
Fred would surely be proud of this channel creator.
Huge thanks to you.
At 8.21 minutes, cracking looking pint!
This reminds me I shouldn't feel like I'm wasting time looking at my big box of brass fitting and bits of steel stock in the shed.
If we find you- that stole the brass from the traction engine?
Bobby won’t help you.
Half a day out with the undertaker.

Wish he was around still to drive to cop Glasgow.
Aye! That would’ve been great!
He was a rare guy to watch and listen to on the telly. Real genuine, nae feared to get grimey guy. You won't see that on other TV presenters.
Wonder what the Name of the Coal Mine was?
Fred was such an amazing man but me being an American I can only understand him half the time
