TightRope Episode 1 1972
Martin Clifford (Banks) lives in a quiet English village called Redlow and is busy studying for his A-levels at Redlow Comprehensive School when someone intercepts the ‘School for Television’ broadcast during lessons with a message called ‘ The voice of truth’ asking students to question the authority of the establishment.
Martin suddenly finds himself at the centre of a dangerous international espionage plot.
Beneath the outwardly calm surface of Redlow lies an intricate network of spies and counterspies, with their focus of attention being the American Air Force base nearby - soon to become the communications centre for top-secret NATO exercises.
Martin is commissioned by British Intelligence to help uncover enemy agents in the village and finds his life balanced precariously on a tightrope - one false move on either side, and he could fall to his death.

Awful.
Roogalator
I remember watching this 20 years ago
We cant smoke where we want anymore, we cannot drink and drive. we cannot do this and that that is why we are depressed, look at these folk really living the life to the fullest
Knew him when I was a kid growing up in Bolton. Smashing fella, one of the best. Would say take from us too soon....however he says you only fall off a 300foot chimney ONCE. So we were lucky to have him for 66 years I suppose.
I first saw this film ("Sundays and Cybèle" as presented) at The Flick Theater in Denver in their "One Dollar" film festival in 1973 or 1974. It catapulted me towards French studies, and eventually, 12 years of living in Genève. ♥️🇨🇭☮️🇨🇭♥️
Than̈kyou to everyone involved in the making & sharing of this series,
Good times when you could always rely on a job at the co-op!
I think the book is more effective.
He didnt drive the engine to Boness , it was driven there on a low loader . Fred was ill with the Cancer by this point and passed around six months later . The shots of them driving along the roads were just short sections for the purpose of the documentary .
Does anybody know if Alf is dead or alive. He is a great man.
Where's Part 1?
3:05 “Hey I’m scared!” The perhaps you should’ve stayed in the bedroom and stood directly under the entryway. So silly.
Gillian Hills was stunning. I know she appeared in some French movies / singing and had bit parts in A Clockwork Orange and Blow Up but then she packed it all in and left the movie industry to become a book illustrator in the U.S. ?!??!?!?
Tremendous upload you know
What a piss - poor programme ......weak as lolly water.
A vintage classic like Timeslip can really make us appreciate how intriguingly different our sci-fi TV universe once was compared to now. Thank you for posting this excellent series. 👍🏻
Back when shows for children didn't look down at the audience but also wasn't nasty.
9:11 can anyone else taste the Tea coming out of that old Thermos just from looking at it? Definite synesthesia going on for me
Always liked Fred
Theyll never make men like fred ever again.. sadly the country is lost now 😢
When they say national treasure this is the true meaning. A working class man from an era long gone. The British man working from a little shed is long gone, and gone with it are the skills which had taken years to master. All outsourced to China now with inferior materials & final product. Rest in peace Mr Dibnah.
A true working man, brilliant. Balls of steel.
Who pushed them headstones over the people who repare them might have a little idea
What an amazing guy. Thanks for uploading this fabulous programme
This woman that might be interested in Fred might only be interested in getting some steam out of Fred's pipe
Brilliant man ,brilliant tv.
Robert plant is my favourite person and I highly regard Fred as my number 2 top geezer... raise a toast to a legend
I get vertigo just watching
Wise man was Fred, what man needs a woman.
not me thats for sure they sit there taking all the liberties they can make everything about them selfs spout loads of c**p about us men saying how we cheat on them lie to them ect ect but yet they fail to look in the huge mirror at them selfs
Freds knowledge of industrial manufacturing.
You could call Fred the Bolton wanderer.
When I use to get a taste of milky coffee from my moms flask in the 70s 😮❤ ,awesome days 😮 rip 🙏 Julia Mangham a great 👍 lady 😢 😊 🇬🇧
the music at 6:38 is the same as Box of Delights opening music
Its so sad to see these fantastically victorian built chimneys and buildings destroyed.
Those balls are nearly as big as Fred's
his wife was nice to see, they had litle kids to wat i con see in a doku!!!!
Some boy was Fred. What I’d give to spend a day with him
Typical northern man. I live in Lancashire and as I am 70 years young have known men like Fred all my life. I used to work in the dark satanic mills and the people who I worked with would give you the shirt of their back. Since the mills closed and I moved into other industries I found that along with my Job in the textile factories the camaraderie that was evident in the textile industry died along with the jobs.
I SENSE THE SADNESS WHEN IT FELL "ITS NO MORE"
England, built by Men in overalls and destroyed by Men in suits. Fred Dibnah 💪🇬🇧
it's a shame how many mills got pulled down
I bet there would have been a few big hairy blokes in greasy boiler suites that would have married him 😉
No not from his shop lol 😆
I wonder I alison is still alive and what she wonders about all this 🤔
Fred a true legend ❤
He Knew how to do it. Reminds me of myself everyday with that flask and Bread if it’s Cheese it’s my own fault I have to Make Them myself,,
Don't remember this at all but recognised Spencer Banks from Timeslip.
BRITAIN is finished when we lose the last of our "Freds" 😢
Was Fred's wife only using him them..?
No. He suddenly became famous. He drank alot asqell back then. Television brought huge changes
@@alexanderspeed9555was his first, second or third?
