Mike, the more I watch the more I appreciate what you do. And thanks for not committing a mortal sin @2:52 when you said "they look like everybody elses", rather than eltse. 😂
I use the smallest trebel hooks I can get for Tip Up fishing and have zero issue handlining big pike and walleye in....thats why i use them....I will have to try some bigger ones for Stingers now though!
We lost so many this season with the pre-tied #10s bending out or losing their point. Our group planned on higher quality hooks for next year. After watching this I might try bit bigger too.
Sorry to hear that Jeremy but that is exactly what happens with those fine-wire cheap #10's. Don't "might try", just do it. Tie on a #6 round bend. I promise you better hook-ups. Those #10's have too small of a gap and that softer metal doesn't hold a point for anything.
I have missed more walleye than I have caught jigging this year. Just ordered some size 10 trebles and the snap hooks. 2 questions. What knot do you use to tie up these and how long do you make them?
Good questions Larry. Although #6 trebles have a wider gap, #10 trebles will have to do if that's all you have. The knots would be your personal preference. I use the Palomar when I tie my stingers. The length will be determined by the size of bait or plastic that you are using. Generally, 2.5-inches and 3.5-inches are what I tie them to.
I feel like that’s a low % because I swear 60% of my fish or more are on the stinger. I use a #10 though and tie my own with a sleeve and a slip knot. When I’m using minnows, I like to run it between my plastic and my stinger to help longevity.
Raymarine for the win! I am actually a Ray fan Jay. I run an Elements at the helm. A Dragonfly at the stern when trolling and I just removed the other Dragonfly from the bow and replaced it with a Garmin Echomap 92sv to run livescope.
Ya don't need them it's a money gimmick lol and alot of fish will pass ur bait cuz of the stinger hooks .. there is a trick to not use n a stinger hook .. but I'll never tell. I have taken a limit everytime I go out walleye fishing in 4O mins of less without a stinger hook.. to much junk on ur bait will stop the bite...
I was just wondering if you hav ever tried this and why you are strong in your statement "It scares tge fish" Did you try it with a camera on your line? If so I would love to see the footage. Why not share your secret for others to gain from? I am going to assume it must be that you fish right on the bottom and like to snag them . In any regards, I am glad you do so well that you get your limit in 40 minutes.

From 1st hand experience, I can tell you this works.

I was just wondering, do you bury the stinger into the plastic bait or let it free float?
I've always stuck mine into the plastic Carl. There are some that don't but I always have.
Free float or I will just rest on hook on top of bait.

Are the white bass run n yet
I've heard of one here and one there but I stay away from the spring run on the river. I mostly fish pre-spawn period.

W😯W!!
If I were you I'd be sure not to let your secret tricks out. Do the hooks on a crankbait scare the fish to?

The fish have a split second to look at a bait in the DR and you believe the stinger hook scares them? Priceless!🤭🤣🤣🤣
