I was always afraid of cooking a steak on the stovetop because it would be dry and tough, so I only ever cooked them in the oven. NOW? My husband's gonna be SO HAPPY. That steak looked amAzzzzing! Thanks, James, for another great idea.

I’m obsessed with your channel. I almost returned my Speedi because it looked too daunting until I watched your videos on this. ❤

Just had my first Speedi meal, and I was most pleasantly surprised. I broiled a New York strip loin steak (sprinkled with Montreal steak spice) with a cubed baked potato. Every bit of the steak was tender, and the potatoes were done nicely. The machine pumps out huge amounts of steam, but that wasn't a big deal.😁😁

That’s amazing James! Love the idea of the steak for sure. Potatoes I’ve made and added Parmesan cheese for 3 minutes at the end on air fry. Thanks for sharing. Cheers 🍻

I have been awful regarding cooking my steak in the Speedi or the other AF's I have, but thanks to your video I am going to have to try this. I will not be cooking it as long as you did since I like my steaks rare - just brown on both sides. I want to thank you again for another great video!

Used frozen steaks and it did just fine with same settings, but I started the steaks at the same time as the potatoes. Thank you! Great video.

The steak looks great. Just the way I like it, M.R. I think when I try this, I'm going to cut up an onion into wedges along with some raw carrots and add them to the potatoes.

@@CookinWithJames Ok James, I cooked my ribeye with the potatoes, baby carrots and onions and they came out great. I first did my potatoes and carrots for 10 minutes. Then I added my onions and put the steak on the top rack. Now my steak was boneless and a little thicker than yours, but I noticed when I checked it at the 6 minutes mark that it looked almost done. So, I flipped it and checked it again at 4 minutes. Did a temp check and it was done. It was almost medium instead of medium rare like I like it, but it was still good. Maybe it was because mine was boneless and not bone-in is why it cook faster. Anyway, the potatoes, carrots and onions came out great.

Hi, James. I've fancied an Air Fryer for a while, and everyone has told me how 'game changing' they are.
So when I saw this for sale on Prime Day, I snapped it up. Even though I had to mostly rearrange most of my kitchen to get it in the right place.
But I've hardly used it because it doesn't seem to function like I expected at all. Sure; it seems to do everything. But even with a book of 1500 recipes everything seems to be far more complicated than cooking things in the oven/pans/microwave. And most don't seem to make very much use of the 'one stop cook' I was expecting. And most recipes are for 4 people. So far even trying to scale this down to 2 hasn't gone brilliantly - let alone one.
But this channel could change my opinion entirely.
I tried a slight variation of this recipe last night, and although it was far from perfect I'm sure with a bit of practice I can nail it.
I'll certainly be watching a whole load more of it, to get ideas and to help me explore more of what the Speedi can actually do. (And more importantly; how!)
Thanks for the clear tips. I don't even mind converting the units to the UK ones on my Speedi!

Damn you make it easy to understand these contraptions. Bless you (and the food looks so good). I had a Ninja Foodi XL 6-in-1 thing on order… and canceled it, after having just watched this video (well… a few of your videos, but that’s another story). Here’s my situation (and… I’m hoping you can give me your recommendation).
I’ve got an outdoor grill, but hate going out there to cook. I’ve got a big Philips air fryer… and it’s good, but a one trick pony. I also have Breville Pressure Cooker and Smart Oven. What I’m LOOKING for is the best way to cook steaks, chicken, and burgers (those 3, mainly… but other stuff would be great, too) indoors… with very little smoke (which is why I’m not using a cast iron on the stove for the steaks & burgers). I like that the Ninja Foodi has the smart thermometer built into it (and all of the videos look great, though it’s a wee bit bigger than I actually need; example. I’m only going to cook one steak or 2 small burgers). I stumbled across your Combi and that looked good… but damn if this Speedi one doesn’t seem to be even more amazing. Not sure if it can cook burgers, but I LOVE the idea of cooking up a steak and potatoes (like you did) and having it come out as amazing as yours looked.
So I guess my question is… since I can’t buy ALL the Ninja devices… which one do you think reigns supreme (for my use case)? Again… a cheeseburger or two here and there, definitely steaks (and I’d love to cook potatoes at the same time), and some chicken/kabobs.
I had no idea there were so many of them. Thanks, in advance.
Oh… and sorry for the novel. Definitely going to subscribe now.

James, you are the best. I am not a huge steak eater but love the better cuts once in a while. Cooked a 1/2lb filet mignon and perfect. Better than a restaurant. I didn’t even have to butterfly it as I like medium well.
I am trying to get another crispy tray from the Ninja site. This way can do broccoli at the same time as steak.

Just got a ninja speedi cooker for christmas and dont have a clue how to use it. This video was awesome! instead of making diced potatoes can you use the bottom to make a baked potato? cook the steak on top and have a potato on the bottom wrapped in tin foil? ofc the bottom would get covered in grease from the steak but would it bake the potato?
