🔴Do you agree that the simplicity and affordability of the Maverick were ruined? 🤔 🏆Ford CEO Announces 6 NEW Models For 2025 WATCH HERE 👉th-cam.com/video/-nN49PSl1g4/w-d-xo.html
I just want buttons and knobs in my cars. I hate screens, they are garbage to drive with at night etc. I love to drive my 1999 Jeep Cherokee. Every one is down on how outdated it is and unstylish etc. the point is it is just a basic solid working vehicle that anyone can fix if they understand how a Philips screwdriver works. Basic honest buttons and knobs, nice big gauges in the cluster. It has a real key! This is what people want. I have enough problems with my computer as it is, do I want that in my car too? NO!
I really like my 2024 Maverick XL. It rides and handles great and gets good gas mileage. I am glad I got a 2024. I agree with you about the changes for 2025. My truck has the 2.0 Ecoboost engine and is averaging close to 30 miles per gallon.
same to everything said, i have a 24 Lariat 4K Tow. Got it the week before 25 launched I was sad for like 2 sec then I saw they just downgraded the car HP and made it more annoying style wise. Lucky to get mine :) it looks like a simple truck, just the way i like it
I am old fashioned. You could have sold me on it if i could walk into a dealership and walk out with a lariat hybrid with dials. I should be able to operate all controls blindfolded. If my hand can't find the radio DIAL or the climate control or fan dial, what are you making? I've used a 2018 fusion with it's buttons and hated it. Love my 2006 F150 and my 2005 jetta for their dials.
I agree -- this switch to all touch screen controls sucks! I can handle the radio being that way, but the basic HVAC controls and a few other need to be standard dials. It's a hassle to fumble with the touch screen to make minor changes when you quickly learn positions of standard dials. I have a touch screen Android radio in my 2003 Tundra. It can be a pain on a trip to find a radio station or make changes on the go, but not bad once the controls are learned. The virtual buttons are big, and it still has real buttons for volume, power, and a couple other things -- the ones you change the most. My wife's 2014 Escape Platinum has way too many screens and functions -- it's distracting, especially if you don't drive the car daily (I drive it maybe once a week). The move to touch screens is solely a cost savings for the manufacturer, and it isn't necessarily passed on to the consumer! Easy to make controls in software and use the CAN bus to transmit commands. It's easy to make changes, but you have to have a receiver in everything that is connected to the bus. I can see it saving money in assembly time though -- no cables or vac lines to connect, just plug in wiring harness.
Bought a 24 hybrid last week and so glad that I did...the 25 is fugly and over-technified...like very other single stupid vehicle on the road nowadays.
Another thing with trucks stop with the bed being molded into the cab. The bed needs to be removable. It is a "Cargo" bed and needs to be fixable if damaged etc.
@@chadhaire1711 You have never worked in your life. We have replaced the beds on our work truck multiple times over the years. From work box to flat bed. etc.
There's only three unibody trucks in the U.S. and they're not made to be heavy duty "work trucks" that would need the bed replaced. They're more for weekend warriors
@@seandavidson3602 And the majority of Chevy, Ford, and RAM truck owners will NEVER use them any harder than the unibody trucks will......so they should have just bought the Ridgeline and get a truck that wont fall apart.
This is a unibody "truck" not body on frame like bigger trucks. It's not really possible to have the bed be removeable without severely compromising the chassis rigidity. This is the reason why all the unibody trucks(Ford Maverick, Hyundai Santa Cruz, Honda Ridgeline) don't have the bed separate.
Well competitors have seen it and there are plenty of Maverick versions coming. Toyota Stout is in development and targeting the 20k-25k range so there is that and other competition on the way.
What is this garbage? It's not like you still can't buy a work truck version of the 2025. I'm happy to see the upgrades, especially hybrid all-wheel drive. I can't wait for a couple of years to buy one of these used.
I’ve heard that RAM is planning to bring their small pickup platform to the U.S. market. I hope Stelantis keeps their truck simple and basic, and at a price point under the Maverick. A good competitor is good for consumers.
I understand what you are saying, faceless voice-over guy. It is about money. But as a member of the online Maverick Truck group, I can tell you people asked for things like the AWD Hybrid. Some disliked the screen size. People modified their Maverick . Some lowered the truck. I even suggested that the Maverick would be perfect lowered with the iconic Maverick Grabber paint job. Why did Ford build the Ranger Raptor? Because somebody would buy it. Yes, Ford built the Maverick as a small, inexpensive truck because trucks were becoming large and expensive. Mostly too large for elderly people to get in and out. Regardless of the trims, Ford, never increase the size of the truck.
In retrospect, the Maverick is still the most affordable new pickup on the market. The price increases over the years have been drastic but what doesn't help right now is that there's no competition other than the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Sales numbers don't even compare but that's the only other alternative. GM, Ram, Toyota and Nissan are slow with developing one of their own. I guess the profit margins aren't high enough which is why they're slow to adapt. That's sad. At the end of the day, it's all about money and not what the consumer really wants. But if Kia, Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota can offer affordable sedans and crossovers in their lineup that sell, why can't others do the same? It's not impossible but I guess it's because they don't know how or don't care to.
Fixating on the Tremor and Lobo models are a bit silly. Someone will buy them. It won't be the person who was looking for an XL or XLT. Now the complaints with the screen I am in full agreement with. Good news: The 21-24 models still exist, and more of them are turning up on the used market every day. And those are cheaper than $25,000.
You both claim they've stuffed it with so much new stuff and tech that makes it expensive, then later say the price is higher but it was only a couple of cosmetic changes. Which one is it? Lots of new tech that took it away from it's supposed roots, or just cosmetic changes? I ordered the Maverick the first week orders were available. The 2022. I liked the cubby next to the screen because it offers a nice place for my phone mount. The first screen had one big issue, brightness. So a new screen is welcome. A new infotainment system is welcome over the sluggish Sync and its older versions that have been used for years. Losing the physical climate controls is terrible though. Overall... same truck with different headlights, grill, screens, some different controls. It went up in price like everything has, and they added a couple options... Hybrid AWD, and one new trim level... LOBO. In the video you say they added the Tremor but that was on the previous model as well. I went with the 2.0 turbo AWD. If the Hybrid AWD was available at the time, I may have thought about it. It's not just for off roading like claimed in the video. It's pretty nice for the snow too. Don't know why I'm commenting on a trash video designed for engagement. You win I guess. The trucks not ruined though lol.
I cannot agree more of this and I think there are a lot more than the 63 commenting here that thinks the same way. I have a 2024 Edge and the thing I hate more on that car is the lack of button AC controls. The interface is just horrible. Try using it with winter gloves. These designers look so dumb when they do these things. I was looking to get a Maverick later but when I saw that I just crossed it out. Price increase too is ridiculous. They are just banking on that they are the only ones out there in this category (I don't count the ugly Santa Fe). I know great people working there but sales of this model will plateau and go down eventually. So sad.
Actually these fancy touch screens are a money maker. They are built off of e-readers, which are commonly seen sold for well under $200, yes they last about 5-7 years and are considered disposable. Now you are stuck with a propriety e-reader that costs over $500 to purchase from the dealer ONLY and then only the Dealer can install it. I hope that Ram brings in the Ram-700, as it is direct competition, at a tremendous price advantaged, then we have Toyota entering the fray. Can someone who will build a rugged and reliable 2x4 and 4x4 vehicle without all the fluff, that is actually a determent to a work vehicle. I guess I will stick with my several decades old Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, and hope that eventually someone extracts their heads from a dark and smelly place and builds a Work Truck, vice a show vehicle.
This is truth! We are, and know, many maverick owners. We all HATE what they are doing to it. before anyone comments on this video, shut up and do some real research before hitting the comment section!!
I just want one like my 1972 chevy Luv PU (Issusu) rebadged, with A/C and Auto Transmission. Trying to haul - NOT Impress anyone. Quit the BS I don't even want a screen! I want buttons. I am looking at the Toyota Hilux Champ.

@tech_triumph yes the simplicity was ruined, I would be happier without alot of the stuff they added.
In other words, a once affordable truck became expensive and has turned people away.
I ordered a 25 Lariat because I wanted the hybrid in AWD. I like the 13” screen, but moving the ac controls to the screen was a bad idea.
I' guessing you don't live in a snowy environment if you're asking why someone would want AWD in a hybrid.

This is one reason we got the 2024 version. Buttons! Easy and safe!
Screens? CRAP CRAP CRAP!

Bought mine in 2022 and already put 70k on it. Getting 30 mpg, and runs wonderful. Going to have to make it last, unless Ford reverses it decisions.
I bought a 2024 maverick back in February. The mavericks needs a single cab and an optional manual transmission.
So what I am hearing is buy a Mavrick between 2022 and 2024. Got it.
Affordable????...they are all $38000.00 on lots near me!
Sad. They can be had as low as $24k around No Il.
Yup that’s the same here in New Mexico
Then order the base model bro
Would you like a 90k f150?
I ordered my 24 XLT for 27K.

Yes they ruined it. Our 2024 uses knobs and buttons! We LOVE it.
I think that Ford is looking at younger buyers, but I think the older generation is the one buying this truck. That is where they missed the mark.
You are right. Ford aimed for young urbanites and entry level truck buyers. But they did not account for it becoming popular with us old folk.
And an uglier front end with painted panels over the lower lights on the previous gen.

I like the update.

Best strategy when it comes to vehicles is find two beaters with heaters.
I prefer my knobs and dials for HVAC and the radio. The only reason most of us will need AWD for if we live where it snows
Too much complexity means lower reliability. Why can't they just keep it simple?
(Failure Analysis Engineer here).

They were never affordable. And they still aren't affordable.
You clearly haven't shopped vehicles!
Tremor can actually do off road things over a normal maverick. But at 40k no thank you.
I’ll never buy a four door truck with a useless bed.
Time to change name again ford!

The less tech the more I like the infotainment centers are dangerous should be delayed
Nissan Frontier double cab 4x4 with V-6 sticker at $38,000 and discount at $34,000 cheaper than the maverick? LOL
You convinced me that 2025 model is better.
Why do we all the extra stuff we do not need strip it down sell for less regular people don't want all the extra mess

It’s a soccer mom vehicle. 2 doors and a longer bed is needed for me to call it a truck
Agree. The very short bed is useless for hauling cargo.

Just another hit piece.
Nope. He is telling hard truth. It's sad what did is doing!
What is a “buddin “ ?
Old version are better!
New one 🤔...
In case you have not noticed....everything is more expensive everywhere.
Try to go shopping for cars. The Maverick is great value! I paid 10k less than anything near its utility.
People need to catch up with times and stop being scared of little upgrades 😂
You can’t shame maverick for being more expensive like every other vehicle 😂
You are clueless. Try to actually research what you are blabbering about. They ruined what most maverick buyers were drawn to!
Older generation just can’t get used to touch screen phones, they like physical buttons
