    OMG! I was thinkg about this for some time now, like "how can you cap the free edge if the nail is too short?" and I always have the issue where my gel peels super easy, now I know why!!! Also, you help me with the tip of round corners... OMG, thank you SO MUCH!!!! I really appreciate all your videos and the way you teach!!! THANK YOU!!!

    I’m SO happy I found this video as my nails are very short due to work. I was having trouble, just like you said, with getting the product all over my skin and then trying to get it off without really messing things up! I’m very grateful for you sharing your knowledge, thank you! ❤️🙂

    Wow. Thank you so much. Because of this whole pandemic I had to soak off the acrylic I had on mine. They were lifting bad. (I don't think I can wear acrylic. Have to find a hard gel tech) so after taking off my acrylic my nails were really thin, so they all broke down to nubs. I have thin nails to start with that brake easy. That is why I wear enhancements. But I miss having gel on. Was wanting to paint them, but had no clue how to do it with out getting gel all over my skin. Thank you so much.

    I've just had my natural nails done...its the BEST! I'm a homesteader so working with crops and animals means I cant have long nails (it's dangerous enough) but now I can actually feel more feminine with a more permanent nail covering solution!! Woohoo!!

    this video was very informative! i work in a cleanroom lab, so my nails have to be kept very short, and we also can't use any non-chipping nail polish, so I've been trying to learn how to do gel polish myself. it's been very confusing and i have so many questions, but this has helped me get a grasp on the process!

    Very good tutorial, thank you! One question, is it not necessary to use a builder gel to get that little bit of length or is it okay to use regular gel polish in this case because the added length to the nail is so slight?

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on the gel polish you are using. I use true gels so they act more like a gel instead of a nail polish or thin gel polish. They can withstand some length (microscopic like I show here). Anything longer that goes past the tip of your finger would require a gel with more structure and strength. You could easily add something like Luxio Build (one of my favorite soak off bottled builder gels) to create more length than what I show here. Check it out on our site thenailhub.com.

  • @ritawashere5787
    @ritawashere5787 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You make it look so easy to apply the nail forms. I wish and I wonder if there is a tool that you could rest your finger on. And it would push the bottom of your finger where the fingerprint is, the pad, back so that you can paint and cap a shorter nail. Do you know of such a tool? Thanks so much. ☺️

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You can but it ends up adding oil to the situation which can cause problems if you accidentally get it on your nails. You really don't get a lot of UV exposure when doing your nails. There's a bunch of great studies on it. Here's a good one written by reputable nail industry experts. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0183/4271/files/UVNailLights.pdf?338

    I like to use washi tape. It's smaller than masking or painters tape. It's also easy to peel off skin. And it's pretty.
    Liquid latex is also good. They make it for skin and cosmetic use. I don't know if it actually contains rubber latex or not. Allergies should be a consideration. Anyway it's easy to apply it paints on like nail polish and it's sold with polish at Sally Beauty Supply.

    The more general gel polishes ( OPI, Orly, Alessandro etc kind of types ) with them you wont be able to do that "lenghten a bit " thing, since as far as i have understood with working with those general ones.. they are too runny( thin... ) As You previously have also told that the polishes You work, they are more real gel type of polishes.. so that with them You are able to play around like that. Tho i might not be correct ..

      Alchohol only cleanses the nail, including taking off the stickiness you will get with some gel top coats. Acetone only takes gel off after buffing and soaking the nail for at least 10 minutes.

Have you ever tried picking up small objects with them? Even opening a door without catching on something---ow oww ow. They make me a butterfingers, and they really should be classified as weapons. Great video! I appreciate the comment about the russian manicure! As a nail tech student here in the states I have learned that we (here in the states) aren’t supposed to do those, but constantly see the videos on my instagram of people doing them with a mani service or incorporating them with a pedi. I’ve had a couple clients inquire about the technique and my only response is that it is out of my scope of practice, and that they need to keep their hands moisturized. Will definitely be trying the forms for my next short nail client!

    Thank you so much for the quality and careful instruction you give. I've just started my nail tech career and as I'm sure you know the school has so much knowledge tomcovsr for the tests that there's a lot of "small" stuff that falls thru the cracks. You have been immensely helpful in helping me trouble shoot what I'm doing wrong.

    Brilliant! Exactly what I needed today. :) I have to keep my nails very short and just couldnt get the tips right. I got lifting no matter how careful I was, or I flooded the tip.
    I think I can do it this way successfully. Thank you!

    Thank you this is such a great video. Informative and easy to learn. I’ve got nail envy looking at yours 🙄😂😂. Bought lots of stuff so watching your videos to hopefully be able to do something with mine that doesn’t look ridiculous lol. ❤️😊
