Netanyahu must not be used as a scapegoat, Israel's policy and ongoing settler colonisation at the expense Palestinian land has been going on for decades breaking international law. Hamas wouldn't have existed if Israel gave Palestinians consideration, their dignity and self determination decades ago.
Israel is still behaving in a belligerent and provactive way. There are no safe guards for the Palestinians people trapped in Rafah from the attack that is coming after the ceasefire ends in 2 weeks.
It's still a very serious situation. More international pressure needs to happen and sanctioning. Israel is behaving like a genocidal and unhinged state that calls Palestinians 'human animals' with total disregard to their human rights. The workd sees them as a pariah and boycotting their links including USA companies.

Meanwhile not a single Jewish person was left in Gaza after 2006, when the territory was handed to the Palestinians. What did they do? Vote in a terrorist organisation called Hamas. What "open air prison" is that. Israeli soldiers do not patrol the streets of Gaza. The people there are free to live their lives and build a society. This "open air" prison has beach resorts and shopping centers, but there could be a lot more if Hamas did not take all the money and concrete and other supplies given to them by the West and Iran and built hundreds of miles of tunnels instead of schools and hospitals. Israel keeps the border secure because it knows that if it did not, there would be terrorist attacks daily. Don't believe me, believe Hamas and Gazans themselves. Let's be real, if Israel was anything other than a Jewish state, you wouldn't think twice about the "poor people of Gaza."

The US has the strongest economy and military in the history of the world. US power is not in any practical sense "in decline." What the US needs to fix is the Constitution to bring it up to date with modern needs for campaign finance and anti-corruption reform. That would, of course, be a massive challenge. Global opinions about US foreign policy are funny. If Americans don't do what foreigners want, they're cruel and evil hypocrites. If they do what foreigners want, they're weak, susceptible to pressure and in decline. There's no winning move that will satisfy everyone. Therefore, the US should do what is in its strategic interests, consistent with international law.

The death count numbers are actually an undercount. The “Hamas led” Gaza health ministry numbers, only include people who have died at the hospitals. They don’t include those who are missing underneath the rubble or who’ve died at home or otherwise, & whose deaths haven’t been reported by their families for whatever reason (lack of phone service, internet service, automobile fuel, etc). This is why the US state dept & the Israeli govt itself, uses these numbers & it’s why other prominent agencies & ngo’s have deemed them to be highly credible.

I don't always agree with Norman Finkelstein, but he is dead on to compare Hama's brutal attack on Oct 7th with Nat Turner's brutal revolt in 1831. At a certain point, the oppressed will fight back against the oppressor. In 2024, Nat Turner isn't regarded as a terrorist in American history. Let that sink in.

Israel has a massive military advantage. They are able to strike from the land, sea, or air, with overwhelming firepower, troop numbers, and advanced weaponry. And what does Hamas have, rockets, mines, RPGs, and rifles all carried by foot soldiers.
Israel may have 'smashed' Hamas, but Hamas have brushed their shoulders off and smashed straight back.
Every day Israeli soldiers are wounded or killed, and their machines of war are damaged or destroyed.
