This game was launched in 2004. Colin drove 2 rallies for Skoda in 2005. I suspect the Fabia was missing because it wasn't particularly successful in wrc rather than anything to do with the rights being held by Evolution Studios. In any case if Codemasters wanted a Fabia surely they'd only need to approach Skoda and not Evolution Studios.
At the beginning when you said that it felt more like three out of ten I was like "Oh, shit. Have I been playing such an horrible game for the past decade." But you gave it seven out of then so I am relieved that my early childhood wasn't a lie.
the lack of grip can be easily fixed just by selecting the correct tyres depending the weather and setting the suspension accordingly. And the rain it's not that bad, just play on higher res settings.
I played this game the exact same way as I did the fourth game where I was changing tires and adjusting suspension. I had no issues with the fourth game, but did with this one. I should have mentioned what console I recorded the footage from. It was an Xbox, and you can't change the resolution on PAL region Xboxs. Not only that but as this is a 720p video from over four years ago which was then upscaled to 1080p, and TH-cam's bitrate changes has destroyed it. It is on the list of re-reviews.
@ I see, it's xbox footage, that explain a lot. Well I think the issue with the amount of grip can be because the very low fov on all cameras, the sense of speed it's really bad on cmr2005
Omg I played the crap out of these games haha Especially 2005, it was the first one I played, then I discovered the older ones. Tbh I always had trouble with the handling in this one, and going to 04 it felt so much easier, I never had any trouble in finishing 04. I finished 2005 twice and was only used to the controls if I spent multiple hours a day, which I didn't do that often so I got rusty very often. I even played and finished the career on psp (so I guess 3 times) and holy crap that version is hard! I spent literal weeks trying to get 1st on the second group b championship, plus even the testing is really hard since for the engine/gearbox test you have to accelerate using the little stick and it's literally so precise, you have to hit a verrrry thin little area, even thinner than on PC. I did take a break for months due to burnout, but overall it was a fun experience though, it was fun to figure things out. And I always played on Advanced where sometimes it feels literally impossible to be able to get first place depending on the condition of your car which did not help me lol. Anyway I'm rambling, your reviews were great!!
I like this game for it's car list and it's quite fun but I never can get a hold on to the driving physics in this game. The 4th game had much better driving physics and I would go around corners smooth and felt a bit more realistic.
You always had the option to choice for 0 rewinds in the post-2007 games... Why complain when the game tries to kater to a larger audience without alienating veteran players? Besides, in games like Grid, you earned more XP the less rewinds you used or had enabled.
You definitely deserve more views and subs... and btw mabye you should do longer reviews like 10+ minutes long... did you ever see ColourShed Productions reviews? They’re very similar to yours and I think that’s great 👍🏻
Thanks. I have been getting more subscribers since I started doing the sixth generation reviews. Some reviews will be longer than 10 minutes and some won't. The issue with trying to make a some reviews more than 10 minutes is that I would end up adding a lot of stuff that is irreverent and would lower the quality of the video. Also adding another 3 minutes or so to a video would take up to a week to do. I've been subscribed to ColourShed Productions for a few years.
After reviewing this, I think it did also become my most played Colin McRae game. I remember playing playing the game on PSP, but i didn't like it that much. I think that might have been because I was playing the game on a PSP Go and not my PSP 1000.
Hi man! I just finished viewing all your series about CMR reviews and they are pretty well done! Are you planning to review the first two titles of the series (maybe the PS versions)? Thanks a lot and have a great day!
Thanks. I am going to review the two original CMR games on the PS1. Almost re-reviewed them a few months ago, but I didn't like the review script and put that review on the backburner.
Finally a Review of the 5th game 😁 My Favourite one in the Series to be honest, Im glad you pointed out the Transit Van being removed, Thats the only thing that upset me about the game 😞
Thanks. I didn't know that no one had done a review of this game in English until someone pointed it out a few months ago. The Ford Transit being removed from the game was probably the worst thing about it.

FINALLY... someone reviewed this game. A childhood favourite of mine. Thanks mate, really good review.
Thanks. I didn't realize that no one had reviewed it.
I remember playing these games on the ps2 as a teenager and loved Colin McRae rally 04 and 2005
My childhood ❤️
Same. I played the three Colin McRae Rally games on the PS2 a lot when I was a kid.
same, even had a steering wheel for these games, Colin Mcrae 3, 04, 05. my first experience with a wheel too!
@@da9el883 same!! Have some of the fondest memories of that time:)
This is my childhood game I played it in 2013 like.

It's the Brian Ferry of all rally games. Nobody knows what the secret ingredient is.

No rewind, No restart, means you have to get good instead of being lazy.

I never understood who’s car was shown on the front cover of this game. Colin McRae didn’t have a Subaru at this time.

My most played Colin McRae Game. And the PSP Port is so good.
Škodas are still today only in games with the real WRC license..

Thanks. I didn't know that so many people would like my reviews. I just started doing them to pass the time during lockdown
@@MontegoReviews Keep up the Good work Mate 😁💯👌
Check out my World Record for Colin McRae 2005 , now its just a souvenir
I remember this game looking a lot better but I think partly that's cos I played it on PC
This games driving feels off. In 4 it's just delicious! This PSP version has lag so it's kinda meh.
Im Very bad at this game :(((((((((
