Love your review for this video, man. I've been meaning to get back to arcade rallies and other arcade racing games in general, and your review helps me deciding what game I should try my hands on next. Plus, thank you for recommending the Over Jump Rally.
I have the same opinion. I still play this game to this day on Xbox 360 my older brother got when it came out. I was a baby when he got it, so I played on it for the first time when I was in kindergarten in 2009 🙂
Sega Rally Revo is my all time favorite driving game. in terms if the fun factor, it is the most fun I ever had in a driving game where they emphasized arcade feel over simulation.
I think Sega should test the waters by releasing a Sega Rally collection. Include the arcade games, this and maybe 2006, maybe up the resolution and see if it sells. I'd love to have them all in one place!
Very good video. Revo is a flawed masterpiece. Played in first person, the handling drastically improves, and the stellar gameplay shines. The single-player campaign is very frustrating though and the way tracks are seemingly randomly arranged in the cups is quite annoying. The track designs, graphics, playability and overall vibe are all on-point though.
Thanks! I would love to have seen where it went from here; more elaborate tracks, damage, crazy new categories. A shame the studio never got much of a chance.
I cut my teeth on the original Sega Rally arcade which I loved so much and played the crap out of the Saturn port. I was really disappointed in the 2nd installment, even the arcade. It didn't seem to have the magic the first one did. When I played Revo I instantly fell in love again. I played it on the PC first and yes it has an annoying frame pacing issue of which there does not seem to be anyway around, but then I picked up a PS3 and played it with a Driving Force Pro wheel and it is such a blast to play. If you're not playing this game with a force feedback wheel, you're missing out!
Yep, the quattro A2. It's part of the masters class/championship which is the last lot of events you unlock. All these vehicles are incredibly fast compared to the other categories. The Stratos is just like in the Saturn version too. Takes a while to understand.
truthfully the game was too difficult. Now I love the game and consider it the best Sega Rally but when I started playing I always came in last or second to last and I'm pretty decent at racing games meaning most people would have played the demo or game itself and decided it was way too difficult. Surely testing surely would have highlighted this. I think an easier mode would have at least given the game more of a chance but with racers at the time struggling to sell, the difficulty also certainly wouldn't have helped. A shame then as it's one of the most engrossing racing games you can play
Yeah, the latter stages in the championship mode are brutally hard! In hindsight I don't know that there was much they could have done to save the game. I think it just came out at the wrong time. 5 years earlier and it probably would have been an instant hit.
@@goukigod yeah I think the racing genre took a hit around this time with a lot of them starting to struggle other than GT and Forza. Still it didn't pass us all by thankfully
Thanks for showing my project!!
Felt like a crime not to!
your work is outstanding 😮

Thanks, Hope you enjoy it!
Isn't the annoucer of this game the same from Sonic All Star Racing Transformed? They sound awfully like eachother
Probably. The original navigator voice actor Kenneth Ibrahim did a bunch of other Sega games so it wouldn't surprise me
This game is the rally game that gives me the rally gaming experience I want most. Just arcade enough while still being very realistic.

@@goukigod Sega needs to do something to keep the games legacy alive. After all, it was the first reall Rally game. BTW- fantastic video

I'm currently playing this game and I must say its amazing
They definitely don't make them like this any more.

Damn it, now I gotta buy a wheel...
I remember when I first played revo. Christmas Day 2007 there was no game like it when I first saw it the mud is still fucking good even now
I came so close to buying it at launch and ended up getting COD4 instead. I don't regret getting COD but I do regret not playing this back then
Great review!
Glad you think so!
Oh, man, these even had all the legendary rally cars. Even had the Quattro (6:42, that is the Quattro, right?). I need to play this game.

I was unbeaten at the Arcade, playing Sega Rally in the Celica GT-Four. Wasn't that great at anything else, but this game .. 👌
Lucky. I've never even seen an arcade cabinet.

I highly recommend a good Dpad for anyone that does not like the analogue sticks. 😊
I always use the d-pad during cornering in this game.
this is awesome
It sure is!
Loved the psp version especially on emulators 🙏🙏
What emulator do you use? I had no end of troubles getting it to run through open emu.
@@goukigod PPSSPP
Obligatory comment about how I would buy the heck out of this IF THEY WOULD LET ME
I'd play it even with unlicensed cars.
I know right. As much as I like "real" cars, I think games such as burnout and the recent Horizon Chase 2 prove it can be done.
I like yer voice, mate.
No wukkas moit!
@@goukigod 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
This looks good.
It is. I feel ashamed that I've only played it for the first time in 2024
Can i play it on xbox series x??
It doesn't appear on any backwards compatible lists so I don't think so.
I miss arcade styles rally games, its hard for me to enjoy rally games with heavy simulation aspect like WRC series.
Agreed. Simulation style games are too much of an investment for me.
The Game is fun but it “IS NOT” for “BEGINNERS”!!!!!
and I ain’t “EVER” beating “S-CLASS”!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
