    Hot glue is "ok" if you use some hot temp glue but I would use some epoxy like the black Gorilla Glue epoxy. It will not melt at all once cured. I used some hot glue to hold my tweeters in in my pillars but the Florida sun melted the hot glue and they became loose. But thank you for the video.

      Exactly. If you use some regular hot glue it's just gonna make a hot mess.

      @markroberts715 I was gonna use that, but didn't have any on hand lol. But if you're dealing w vibration, it works great! I actually considered getting a team pie. How you like it?

    Back in the 80's and 90's I used to repair amps, all of them class AB. Back then I never came across a class D. I've been watching Barevids for years and got a wealth of information on class D amps. I'm surprised that you're using hot glue but after reading all the comments it appears that it's safe for this application.

      @stevemaniaci4750 if the JP83 wasn't green when it first came out, I would have bought it! But being as how space is a factor for me Brazilian amps really help me out lol.

      @JR-yr8xm Main thing is to check your subsonic and crossover settings. The marking on taramps frequency cutoff knob are inaccurate so be sure to set your amps gains and filters with an oscilloscope. And using a dsp or the headunit I did a 60hz -24db cutoff and set my rca output voltage to around 2.4v max.

    I hope you're using some kind of very high temp hot glue. If its regular hot glue then its just going to melt when the amp heats up and then it isn't helping anything. Best to either use silicone or gorilla glue. Could also use epoxy but that isnt going to come off at all. So if it needs to be repaired then it could cause issues. Best thing for taramps is having the correct electrical to support the amp and don't mount the amp to the speaker box.

    • @1ohmwrecker
      @1ohmwrecker  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @hopskustomaudio yes it's the high temp gorilla glue. Just posted my smart 5 after 2.5 yrs installed and did the same thing w the same glue and it's as solid as the day I did it. I would use epoxy if I didn't already buy this high temp gorilla glue a while back. But it works.

    I didn't do this to my taramps but not because I didnt know that this is a good idea because I do know it is. I didnt do this because it voids the warranty and I want to use that warranty for when I cook my amp.

    It gets well over 100 degrees in the summer here. Add the heat from the amp I don’t think it would last. I’ve had a lot of success with total boat flexepox. I was having issues with inductors breaking at the joints.Since doing this the amp is nade proof
