No cap? Literally the hardest game of all time. No knockback, nonsensical hit boxes, enemies can wipe you with one hit at full health, unless you farm for literal hours. As a child, I didnt understand farming, and had to painstakingly cheese my way through the levels, which inevitably fucked me in the end. Never made it through the first section in Namek. That being said, loved this game 😂
hardest game? xD the trick is using solar flare a lot, few hits, run away and redo the whole thing. Once you get the trick it isnt that hard. This is one of the few games I actually was able to finish when I was a kid. xD edit: the part when you dont have solar flare is the hardest in the game though, damn wolves are overpowered so I used to grind the first level a few times going in and out the map to respawn the mobs. I also grinded the dinosaur you get a bit before raditz. I found him to be broken when I stood at a certain spot. Now play super mario bros, I spend 2 months completing that game legit. Had to complete it 4-5 times with savestates before I went trough the whole thing without cheating. xD
Not to mention using the invincibility cheat causes you to not gain exp or levels so the game becomes just as tedious, it took like 30+ minutes to beat Frieza that way
Bro, I played this when I was like 12 and I've been trying to find this game ever since. Nostalgia is hitting hard right now. I used to play this and Pokemon Gold at my uncle's house every Thanksgiving.
I'm pretty nostalgic for this game as well. That intro music immediately takes me back in time. Not one of the greatest games ever, but the music is solid.
I love how each gba dbz game just kept getting better, yet somehow each one also adds something unique and enjoyable. I really love the engine in this version, but I also really appreciate the upgrades in the games after this one. Still though, there is something this one has that legacy of goku 2 and buu's fury don't have, that makes this one a gem. Theyre just all three really awesome games.
I feel like the first one is more about strategy and finding the best way to deal with enemies and using the environment to your advantage plus it had the better side quests of the trilogy

I had this game in like 2002 as a kid couldn't understand how to really play it so it just disappeared in my room summer of 2007 I found it again and played it on my Nintendo DS
The fact that you beat this game in under 3 hours says a lot I'm pretty sure it took me months as a child lol I've been playing through some of the older final fantasy games I played on PlayStation 1 in elementary school and I've been flying through them pretty quickly but it's amazing how long it used to take and how difficult most games were back then as a child as opposed to now having played games like call of duty and the soulsborne series which are pretty much the original Nintendo difficult game equivalency to the next gen consoles, I remember my grandparents taking me to video stores and renting me super Nintendo games and an hour or two later I would be stuck on the first level and have them take me back up there to pick out a different game and the video store would be completely understandable my grandma would be like this game is just too hard for him and they would be like sure you've only had it for 2 hours pick out a different one lol

I remember getting stuck in namakian temple that I didnt even realise I maxed out my character and kept on fighting until I made it out. Beating freeze was too easy when I got to him.
I remember being in the mall with my mom shopping for clothes and I hated it and I just disappeared into one of those round clothes racks where I sat and finally beat the game!

My lame strategy was to go back and forth to deliver 1-2 punches when low on Ki and then when it regenerated, kamehameha or ki blast. Edit: damn forgot about the solar flare to stun. Used that too
I remember zeroing this game, but it was really fucking hard because you can’t really engage with enemies in combat - you have to be running around throwing ki blasts.
I literally just found this old game inside a storage unit that I rarely check, and my DS Lite is still in perfect condition, so I can’t wait to see how much progress I used to have from many years ago 😊

I remember being super excited when I gained the flying ability in this game and especially once I hit the end of the fight where you first meet Vegeta and I forget the other sayans name or piccolo ends up killing Goku with a beam attack and you have to go on the snake pathway, truly an amazing game they really need to do this with the next gen consoles
I literally haven't watched any type of anime in 15 years and I'm seriously enjoying myself watching this, they would draw in so many people they made more storage driven animated titles instead of just making them simple fighting games
It's actually super easy as soon as you learn the Solar Flare. Just spam it on every enemy and there you go. Use it, land a shot or 2 and move back. Rinse and repeat. That was my strategy as a kid.

Solar flare pretty much functions in the same way Hit's Time Skip does in this game. It lets you roll over all the bosses, from the Saiyans, to the Ginyus, to Freeza at the end.
I played ’The legacy of Goku 2’ and ‘Buu’s fury’ first, then I bought this to complete my collection. I didn’t expect it to be as good as the other 2, but neither to be so horrible! Never been so disappointed.

There was no knockback so this game was just unreasonably hard. The 2nd and 3rd games had knockback so they were far better and more enjoyable.

What cheat codes does Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku have on the Game Boy Advance SP, Project Longplay?
There is one to make you invincible, but I can't remember the input :/
The input is up, down, left, right, b, a. It can only work while the intro is playing every time you boot up the game, you’ll know when the invincibility cheat went thru when you hear a chime during the intro song.
Playing this on my miyoo in 2022…. One of my greatest memories with a game as a kid

I remember getting this and legacy of goku 2 for christmas as a kid. I didn't like this game that much but after i beat it i played Legacy of goku 2 and it was so much better than this game. I loved legacy of goku 2. I would give it a 9.5/10 i would give this game a 5/10
When I was a kid, I played Legacy of Goku 2 first, then I played this... I was confused asf why the enemies in this game would walk through attacks.. yeah LoG2 and Buu's fury were better lol
Lol I give this game a 1/10. maybe 2/10 cause the music was okay. Actually 3/10 for the health cheat. But this game was trash. probably the worst dbz game I ever played next to taiketsu or sagas.
