That grid heater delete is sorta like the luck of the draw but is on start stop cycles so if you drive long or let your truck idle while running in the g gas station and stuff u shouldn’t have problems it’s all those extra start stop cycles that burn up that nut
I changed mine today at 256k miles on the truck. I’m in the southeast so it still looked perfect when I took it off but I had $1000 burning a hole in my pocket and want this truck to last 500k miles
Mine looked the same. Coolest climate my trucks been is in OK. I just did it as piece of mind, just like deleting the emissions and Def system are preventative measures.
I've had 3 rams 2 deleted and not one has ever has that brake nor do I know anyone that's had that happened. You have more chances of your tranny going bad than the bolt braking off.
I was wondering how your truck was doing after your initial install. I appreciate the follow-up review. I too am really worried about the bolt/pieces of the plate wrecking my engine so I am thinking of doing this as well. My truck is totally stock with 70K miles, but I will do this very soon. Performance wise, you said that you didn't notice any difference. Did you notice any gains in mile per gallon?
I just did mine today got the grid heater option it doesn’t get too cold but did it in case. I notice a lot more air flow in my engine I’m deleted at 63k my boost went up like 6lbs after you do notice the air flow
I am very curious to hear how well it performs when it is cold in the winter. I disconnected my grid heater at the battery. I live in Canada in summer and Arizona in winter, so I have not needed any kind of intake air heat since I disconnected the factory grid heater. As far as I know, the dirty exhaust from the EGR comes past the grid heater. I am wondering if since the grid no longer gets heated, it will build up more soot on the fins and start to restrict the air intake. I am in Arizona now in my RV and am just a few hour drive from Bank's in California. Still on the fence.
For this lot deleting is not required and doesn’t need any type of programming. It’s a plug and play system that just makes your truck much more reliable and less likely to destroy your engine.
That delete had already been done for years, I just removed the physical parts during this process while I was at it. I’ve never paid attention to the mileage, all of the mods I’ve done were for longevity of the engine.
I libe where it gets 20.to 30 below zero. The banks heater works great.

Where did you get the egr delete cap or did the one you had on before you swapped work with the banks ?
I ordered it from a random website that I found through a Google search. There’s several different places all look the exact same.
@ my truck is currently egr deleted. I just wonder if the current cap would transfer. Looks just like your but not fancy
Thanks for the video. What delete kit did you use? I like the black egr delete block off plate!
I just did a Google search and found it, don't remember the website though.
Did you had to tune it after the the ram and weigh lost?
It was already tuned, I just hadn’t removed the unnecessary parts.
Any tricks to avoid breaking the fuel rail psi sensor?
Be cautious when you lift up on the rail to remove it. Pretty sure that’s how I broke mine.
And when that ceramic grid heater bust/cracks/breaks, it goes straight into your engine.

@@xeroxboy01 I was referencing the ceramic piece inside the Banks Air Intake.

Planning on doing a review during or after winter?
During winter, around the 12 month mark, after I’ve seen how it performs during colder temps.

It’s def worth the peace of mind. I didn’t notice any power or MPG gains, only a throatier sound.
I just did mine today got the grid heater option it doesn’t get too cold but did it in case. I notice a lot more air flow in my engine I’m deleted at 63k my boost went up like 6lbs after you do notice the air flow
that’s awesome. Glad it went well and worked out for you. It’s definitely a sound investment to prevent any potential damages.
Did you delete the throttle valve as well or did you reuse the original unplugged?
No, i has already been deleted it electronically and did the physical part during this install.

You won't regret doing it. The results are nothing short of awesomely amazing.
Do you notice lower egts when towing?
No but I don’t have a gauge to monitor them and rarely tow with it anymore.
So I have to def delete and egr delete for this or what that’s it ?

Can this be done if you Egr delete your truck
Yes, mine is.
@@chiefyoung thank you
I noticed that you had a few parts left over on your work bench. Any changes in mileage or performance from those mods?

@@chiefyoung copy that. I really appreciate your very thorough video and explanation of the work involved in this process. Good job 👍
thank you. Glad it was helpful.
