You didn't just remove the silencer ring, you also removed the inlet of the compressor housing and map width enhancement groove. You will have increased turbulence and lessened compressor efficiency. This will create hotter air under higher boost, and easier to create surge conditions.
I’ve heard people say to just drill little 1/4 holes inside the ring it’s self. I’m apprehensive of doing it because it seems as designed should help direct air flow better to the turbine
Sounds good! Makes me think you should have more air flow now, especially with the SB intake and you might notice a quicker spool up. Waiting for my delete kit to arrive, and then I think I'm going with the Bank's cold air intake system on, and I'm going to try your mod.
2014....truck is clean asf...you extra lucky because thats the best year model 4th gen ever made. I got one, but i got the 6.4 hemi. Putting a Carli suspension kit on this week.
@@StVick no I meant it's a junk platform, we have a fifth gen 6.4 as a shop truck and that motor is a piece of shit. My buddy is a dodge tech at a dealer and said it's the number 1 engine they replace
@owencarlucci6959 oh a 5th gen. Im not surprised. Anything your playing with past 2016 is a piece of planned obsolescence Stellantis put out. If you go read my original comment I was specifically talking about 2014 year model 4th gens are the best and most reliable HD rams, gasser and diesel. That was the first year 4th gen and last year Chrysler had Anything to do with a truck before rebranding it to ram under Stellantis.
Dumbest idea ever, I did it to mine. Here’s the thing, it’s a silencer ring but also helps you on psi, I lost 2 psi from doing this and the whistle does get Annoying. I’m 17 so that’s saying a lot
It’s the same as Amazon but i bought it off eBay for $150 i think. It was laggy at first but works great after it’s updated. I have the exhaust and delete kit since Memorial Day weekend. Im just waiting to move to get everything on the truck. Gimme a little more time and I’ll have a video up
5k miles later of endless towing and daily driving and still not 1 beat skipped. This mod did nothing to hurt performance or reliability. turbo sounds amazing everytime i drive it. Excited for it to get cold
No shit, I did mine and it was twice the truck. Better throttle response, better takeoff, waaaaay better fuel mileage, no smoke. I’ve found ccs tuning to be better than most for Cummins trucks.
I really don't notice that much of a difference to warrant permanently modifying the turbo over just the S&B intake. Now, to pair this with Stainless Diesel's 5 Blade turbine... that might do something
you can clearly see I'm doing pretty well for myself. I think I my priorities are pretty straight.. I'll pass emission anyway.. because my truck is exempt. good try tho John.
@ not trying anything…. Just saying you could have deleted and gotten more results instead of going BACKWARDS. why would you want to make the air entering the turbine turbulent??

Appreciate the advice. I have 5k+ miles of daily driving and towing with no issues

Sounds sick! Big sound difference!

Why waste that kinda money on a 6.4, they are junk
@owencarlucci6959 ive had mine since 2013, no problems yet except plastic degrading. That's any car bud.

What kind of screen for your stereo you have ??

5k miles no issues and still haven’t dropped psi. So no clue in what you’re talking about. Turbo whistle isn’t even that loud to get annoying…
17 and you’re boring that’s sad.
What radio did you install.
How you like that radio big dawg ? Is it the one off Amazon if so what gigabyte and ram speed model did you get

Badass Cummins man! 😎
How many times did he actually “get it” in this video?
Slacking on the exhaust and tune it’s been a couple of months haha

I always believed it's not good to do this to a VGT.

Nice truck.
If you have the means delete it
It drives like a different truck
Exactly what I’ll be doing. I have everything already. Just need to finish my other truck
@@LS_DustyStill liking that you took the silencer ring off?
That’s an expensive risk for some sound! Glad it went ok

Still have emissions but you are deleting an air straightener off your turbo…. Get your priorities straight dude! 😂

@ I clearly don’t understand what “doing well for yourself” has anything to do with our conversation…
@ I was saying there are a LOT better things you could have done to improve the truck that what you did.
