While your overall points are good, the "I couldn't find a single case where the KBA stopped or disrupted an attack on israel" statement was a fallacy, as Negative Conflict isn't a measurable thing, if conflict doesn't happen it doesn't happen, we can only measure when it does happen. It's hard to find a case where UN Peacekeeping, a nations defensive capability, or concepts like M.A.D. have stopped a war from occurring, outside of a prospective opponent directly going "We didn't fight them/chose peace because X impediment" which is often an undesirable statement to admit to their intended opponent or openly in international discourse. That doesn't mean such considerations didn't work, just that it's not reasonably measurable how much they worked/were needed and how far above/below the required level they were. But yeah, the way the KBA is handled, the things outside it's control, and even pre-existing tech levels, make it a pretty moot law.
Also like they could always just go to a book store and buy a map book of Israel, they updated them every year, used to flip through them every road trip as I was the designated navigator in the back seat... I'm suspecting that was just a ploy to keep the kids quiet...
Technically, the UN does stop wars. Its just that most war nowadays use different words to describe it to sidestep it. So there is less "war" in the world today but there a lot of "military conflict". Legally, countries just stop issuing Declaration of War and instead just directly send their military to deal with those "conflict". Which is also why the word "war" now is largely a media word as technically, there was no war.

I would imagine keeping the KBA around is just a politics thing at this point. Satellite imagery of Israel being low quality isn't a massive problem for most people, so there isn't really any demand to get rid of it. At the same time, trying to get rid of it would just lead to opposition run media publishing headlines like "[insert party] are creating maps which threaten Israel's national security", so it's not worth it from their perspective.
Rockets are fired to Israel quite often, and they usually miss . If the blurriness helps or not against it, you can't know for sure. It's quite hard to prove or disprove its effectiveness. I'm an Israeli and speaks Hebrew from birth and after a thorough search I couldn't find any Israeli law that says you can't have high resolution images of Israel
Thank you for the video, as someone who lives in Israel I had no idea it was a thing, I just have a few points I wanna share. Just because people have used public low-res maps to attack Israel doesn't mean the KBA didn't help, we can't know how many attacks it prevented or disrupted, since we can't compare it to anything. It does sound like the KBA is outdated, but you can't say it was completely useless. As some people already said in the comments, the KBA probably still exists as a way for the US to show their support for Israel, getting rid of it might seem like they don't care for Israel's security anymore and it can start conflict, and since it doesn't really affect things anyways then there's no rush to get rid of it.
first of all amazing video, didn't know all that stuff although I'm Israeli. when I was in the army I got to use the military version of google maps, and it's has a muchhhhhhhhhhh better resolution, although the resolution changes from area to area, like Gaza's resolution was marginally better the Cairo's, although there were huge swaths of Iranian desert with the highest resolution.
And then the IDF put the keriya right in the middle of Tel Aviv, across the road from the shalom train station... Mind you they also built the pit (ah Bor) upside down
As an Israeli, I thought at first that I had a temporary internet glitch, until I compared cities around the world to cities in Israel, until I realized how different it is on purpose
ah yes, needless laws restricting stuff like that reminds of the fact that google street view isn't available in germany anymore. Actually, the aggressively blurred properties on the government map are probably private areas. The one you showed in the video looks like its just some dock machinery.
The Israeli Basic Law doesn't talk about these issues, the Basic Law is a kind of Israeli common law constitution, but if you care about Israeli laws, you have to frequent Israeli laws, which are way more complicated...
That can only possibly do so much. A pixelated image holds less information than an unpixelated one, and information can't come from nowhere. For text, faces, or anything else following a somewhat predictable pattern, it's possible, but for something like a map of an air force base there's just too many possibilities for what's in some region. E.g., even if it can determine there's probably a long, light colored rectangle below some pixels, there's unlikely to be enough additional information to determine if it has the features of a runway, or a strip of grass, or a building, or a line of trucks, etc.
why do you palestinians think that everything that has to do with israel is connected to u, unlike you we arent devoted into the destruction of our enemies
Me looking at 2:50 That area looks similar... A port city, with a curve, What looks like a port... aand that's Rambam Hospital, yes that is Haifa and I can even distinguish the old Kiryat Eliezer Stadium (that is destroyed), and a few other places.
Love the Israeli idea of just blurring sensative areas, then also put a major sensative army base in the middle of the biggest metropolitan area, literally across the road from a major train station, massive mall and three very tall office buildings, also the major hospital for the area is just to the north of it, same as the biggest public library, the opera, to the south across the road is a massive tourist area... Totally secretive yes...
You're an idiot if you don't understand the logic behind it. The terrorists already know, way ahead of time where are military bases located, blurring sensitive areas is a must.
Israel is insecure they know the terrible stuff they do in Palestine so of course they'll blur it. Like a criminal trying to erase his criminal record.
as a israeli I want to say: 1. I can translate for you 2. nice video, but you have one mistake, we are smart. we dont blur only where we dont want, we blur another areas near them so its still help
Fun fact: Israel employs GPS jamming in northern Israel and southern Lebanon, so if you open google maps in northern Israel (like Haifa, for example), the map will show that you're stuck in the middle of the beirut airport
Well, ass a fellow Israeli I must admit that you almost didn't make anyone angry.... almost But for real the current map resolution is good and clear enough to see things plus there are so many photos and videos of Israel that if you really wanted you could get a closer look at what you want to plan your attack. And love from Israel, I love your videos
Honestly it's really weird to know that my country is blurred most of the world I did not know that until I watch this video and although it's random and means nothing pretty much I haven't finished the video yet so maybe I'm wrong but it's still announced me to know that from all of the world we have terrible quality show

honestly if it managed to trick you i think it's working... the blurry bases aren't for you to not know where the military bases are but for you to not know which places in the military base to hit... in 1967 Israel had recon of the buildings in Egyptian airforce bases and could easily know where the hangars are, where the barracks are,the landing and takeoff runways heck even the cafeteria.... if you know how the base is built you know exactly where to strike it.

But, at least it means it's a bit harder to get better quality.
Just like locks on doors. They don't stop burgles. They delay them or make it a bit harder to enter, making some just ditch the idea because it's harder.

German: what? Why’s everyone looking at me?
first of all amazing video, didn't know all that stuff although I'm Israeli.
when I was in the army I got to use the military version of google maps, and it's has a muchhhhhhhhhhh better resolution, although the resolution changes from area to area, like Gaza's resolution was marginally better the Cairo's, although there were huge swaths of Iranian desert with the highest resolution.
And then the IDF put the keriya right in the middle of Tel Aviv, across the road from the shalom train station...

In Israel I can found my house in google maps so idk
But if I try to look at a Military Base it is censored
Recently, there is a developing bot that Un-pixelated pixelated images
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, *YOU IN!*
edit: grammar
That can only possibly do so much. A pixelated image holds less information than an unpixelated one, and information can't come from nowhere.
For text, faces, or anything else following a somewhat predictable pattern, it's possible, but for something like a map of an air force base there's just too many possibilities for what's in some region. E.g., even if it can determine there's probably a long, light colored rectangle below some pixels, there's unlikely to be enough additional information to determine if it has the features of a runway, or a strip of grass, or a building, or a line of trucks, etc.
