I didn't know the existence of your videos until recently, but I've seen a bunch of them and they are great! Super Metroid is my favorite game and seeing content and learning about stuff I never knew in 2021 is just fascinating! I hope you keep up the great work in the future, you've earned a sub! :)
I've always been fascinated by space-time glitch. It feels like I'm in a dream and nothing else makes sense haha. Found your channel a few days ago, buddy. You have great content!
Hey, Raick Stanley! It really is a fascinating glitch - there are so many things you can do with it. Thank you so much, and I'm glad you're enjoying my channel! :)
Being my number one favorite Metroid game ever "Eev!", it is so wonderful to watch a Super Metroid glitch tutorial video explained in such strong details. ❤
Right! I can't believe I didn't know that! I imagine if it can be broken with screw attack it can be broken with regular bombs too so you could check it out early in the game
I didn't know this, thanks! I was amazed to see how small your channel was man, the quality of the content and editing in the video is superb, you deserve way more!
Hey there! Really cool to see a lot of this old tech being shown off in a more modern time! A good many years ago, I used to run and do glitch-hunting/routing on this game, and I was one of the people that was actively working on figuring out a way to make this possible. At the time, we were trying to use space time to get into Tourian through the elevator room for a while, and then some of us (I don't remember if it was specifically me or Kott or someone else) thought about getting in through the escape door. I do recall being the one to figure out the reserve tank usage, and it was pretty hype at the time. There's a video of it on my channel (one of the few things that was cool enough to document, but also was a quick way to share it while everyone was currently working on figuring it out). This quickly became obsolete however, as the more modern method of triggering the escape from the landing site was found. Cool video!
Wow, yet another very interesting topic that I've always been wondering whether it was possible or not, great tutorial! Also congrats on over 1.5K subs! Well deserved!
Just finished Super Metroid for the first time ever last night (no idea why we never got it when I was a kid). I’ll have to try out some of these glitches on my next play through. Great video man, and good explanations
Nice video! I didn’t even know you could break that wall in Tourian before the escape sequence! I’ve also used the “Stand-up glitch” with the murder beam and things get weird. You can’t see Samus most of the time, one of Mother Brain’s legs are invisible, and the Metroid is invisible too! But combining the Murder Beam (which has the damage of a Power Bomb) and the Hyper Beam, you can kill Mother Brain in split seconds.
So many Nintendo games are just heavenly broken. Take a breath, sit back, admire how well these mechanics works. It's a hidden symphony in between the lines of code - interdependence flourishes to narish a superstructure.
Haha, I'd be honored if Oats watched my video! But if I had to guess, I'd say he's already aware of this technique. ;) Or, at least, a variation. Nowadays, it's not terribly relevant for speedrunning, because there are much quicker (just less fun, in my opinion) ways of triggering the escape sequence without defeating Mother Brain. :)
I've seen this explained somewhere before! It was a long time ago . . . probably on a channel that has since been removed from TH-cam . . . Ah, I'm terrible with names; I'm not gonna' remember who explained this before. Anyway, great vid!
How did you do to discover all of this tricks? This game always seemed to be very solid and consistent but you (and some other guys) have found the most unexpected ways to crack into the matrix of the game. You guys are awesome!
Hey Cody, thanks for the sub! :) I can't say for sure, but I would guess that it does. Generally speaking, though not strictly true, Spacetime Beam is more stable on emulators. Give it a shot, and let me know! :)
I suppose my last curiosity then would be fully entering the Mother Brain room instead of just leaving right away. Judging from the sequence already beginning when you entered it, though, I'd assume nothing special. Even so, my curiosity remains.

I like to imagine Samus sneaking mischievously behind Mother Brain, boping the self destruct button and running away in a cartoonish way
Hahaha, love it. 😂
good one 😂
I've wondered the possibility of this since I was 7 years old back in '98
Thank you.
And all this time all you had to do was break space-time continuum !
(BTW I realize only now this is the reason for this beam's name)

Thanks so much for the sub, Armourslayer! And I really appreciate the kind words. :) As you can probably tell, Super Metroid is my favorite, too. ;)

I thought I knew everything about this game, but I didn't know you could break the wall at 1:30 before the escape sequence. Mind blown
Same! I guess I never tried.

You have no idea how much it means to me learning new things about this game after all these years.
Thank you so much.

Hey, Rabbabot, I really appreciate that. :) Cheers!
The Space Time Beam really lives upto its name!
YES, FINALLY! I’ve always wanted to explore the rooms beyond mother brain without the pressure of the timer! Thank you ;o;
Any time, KiyokaMakibi! :)
Another piece of rare tech I'd have no idea about if it weren't for this channel! Thank you!
No problem, i Derp - I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :)

Hey Matthew, thanks so much for the kind words! :) Glad you enjoyed this. :)
I always love hearing these tutorials. I often wonder, just how the heck did this get discovered? It’s so dang cryptic!
I soak up obscure tech like a sponge so this was really interesting. Loving the content!
Hey, SirBlackMage, thanks a lot. :)
I absolutely love watching this channel and I absolutely adore super Metroid, And even though I speed run it I don’t even know these tricks

I appreciate that, Organist! Thanks for the sub! :)
Love your videos, been learning a lot!
Thanks, JAC420, glad you're enjoying them! :)
What happens if you glitch into Mother Brains room from behind? (If its possible)

Great stuff! Keep up the good work!

Does the super missile stop the shaking because usually it would cause shaking itself?
Basically, yes. :)

@@cody9109 Nice!! That's good to know - thanks for reporting back to me. :)
Wow, how do you find all of these secrets? Another amazing video my friend.
It'd be more interesting if you could somehow enter mother brains room from reverse
But you didn't save the animals.
In retrospect, I regret that decision. :(
@@GoldenChorizoCode But there is no timer, meaning no self destruct, soooooo…. ;)
Wonder what the rest of the game would be like if you explored say the abandoned ship. Would it reset the sequence?
Next up: Spacetime beam to break into the Opera Scene
