    Best drying towel Ive ever used was a bath sheet I had in my house, its a lovely Egyptian soft cotton 1200 count one it was £8 and its brilliant for drying the car, its far far better than any of the detailing towels as I personally think sometime these companies try to reinvent the wheel and you pay a premium for this, I have this towel for 11 years now and its as good as the day it was bought and still super soft so you really dont have to pay £20 plus for a towel as nothing has come even close to drying my car so quickly and I know as stupidly I have bought a few and always go back to my towel but clearly this is a personal choice but there are other ways out there.

    Yes, twisted loop drying towels are so good. I had the Gyeon but, like you, also wanted a double-sided towel. I have been using the Griot's PFM for years, which I really, really like. I just bought some double twistress from the Rag company because of the sizing. As for softness, the PFM felt the softest to me.

    Love Gyeon Jon - one of my favourite brands like many. Their microfiber range is awesome no doubt. Have the EVO ONE Coating and those foam applicators were fantastic. Actually bought the that drying towel by accident but think it's super quality and absorbent. The polish wipe i find is the most versatile towel. I have a few and has so many uses. Gyeon Primer is a epic epic product Jon. Used it as a primer for their ceramic and was brilliant. You could just use it on good paintwork to bring it up, leave it there or apply a their wax on top. You could use it like an AIO or on headlights. Lots of useful info here Jon top job!

    Hi Jon. Great review of Gyeon MF products. The 50p suede blocks are super value and reusable and repurposable. Just one thing...Aren't the Gyeon finger applicators £4.75 each and not £4.25?

    I must admit Gyeon range of microfiber cloths, applicators and towels are very good quality, they feel great and work well inspiring confidence in your work. It's always a good job done once you have finished with them. I've got a pearl weave microfiber and an Eagle edge less microfiber by the Rag company for ceramic coating which also just as good and feel so nice to use giving a perfect finish with little effort. All these little tweeks and refining my products over the years have made me enjoy detailing even more. I'm saving my Gyeon microfiber cloths for Griots garage 3 in 1, I hope the ceramic infusion in the blend will come out in the washing machine? I don't want to ruin them.

    Nice little line-up of microfiber/towels, but I'll probably stick to the rag company for towels and Gyeon for LSP.

    • @theflash4956
      @theflash4956 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sansom car care have something similar with their Fluffy Daddy drying towel at 15 quid. At a weight of 1,400 GSM and measuring 50cms by 80cms it can hold up to 2 litres of water before needing to be rung out. Their microfibre cloths are great. It's the polyamide that makes them so soft. Dreadnought towels look similar. Can't see any info where it states the Goldmember can suck up 2.5 litres. Shouldn't have said "suck up" sorry, if I have offended anyone. It's the Austin Powers in me.

      @@anthonyworthington6495 Thanks mate. I bought the Autofinesse Drying towel a few years ago, it's great, still in great condition as well, it's 1,200gsm. Thinking about adding either the Sansom drying towel or Dreadnought. The GoldMember and others are 1,400gsm, so should be better. Anthony, I think you may have given Jon an idea for his next review, Drying Towels. What do you think, Jon? A whole row of bowls, filled with say 2.5 litres of water. Soak them for 3 minutes, lift them up and see how much water they release hanging from your wife's washing line. Ask her permission first, Jon. You know what women are like using their stuff. Mine throws my dinner in the bin, if I've crossed her. 😡People should be aware, a lot of car products such as towels come from only a few factories around the world. The good ones are in South Korea, cheaper not so good stuff, China. They are basically rebranded, but are the same product, different colours, different name, same specs, different prices.

    I love the Korean brands, gyeon , carpro and tac systems . The Asian brands are maybe the best in the industry including soft99, 26JPN and Kamikaze.
    Maybe you can reuse the applicators for dressing on the engine bay

    • @79blustone
      @79blustone 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I'm planning to use my The Rag Company cloths for the engine bay coating with some Gyeon can coat, I'm hoping it'll prevent corrosion between panel welds on 90⁰ edges where the paint is susceptible to rust. The Eagle endless still feels ultra fluffy like new but I'd dare chance it again on exterior panels again....seems like such a waste 🤷
