Otsisossi I find 2 players is the sweet spot to make these kind of fights more challenging. I use poison personally, it just guarantees a constant source of damage even when you are running for dear life.

Me and my partner got his quest finally to level 140 tonight, and it took us 40 minutes to kill this thing. Right on the mark when it said "10 minutes left" it went down. This video really blows my mind. It's impressive how you dodge that paw swipe. I always manage to get hit by it somehow.

Zaimulwaie This person is the reason why I don't panic around the explosion rings anymore xD Learned to just take it easy and walk out of there. I'm more surprised how she/he stays in the fight with 40% health though, all confident that they won't get hit by a random ram or something...

WOW. I wanted to see if its possible to solo G rank since most random online teams end up failing for me. I'm like why are most people so bad even at grank, and for the few that are good, they are often rude to anyone that doesnt meet their standards. Then i see this video, very humbled by your skills and dedication.
silverk He, the way I see it: if they care so much about what their teammates are doing, then they probably rely on them on some level (and, as a result, get mad if players don't meet their expectations), which means that they just aren't good enough. If I'm playing online, I'm doing it for fun and I couldn't care less about whether my teammates are pros or not. (unless they're leechers and got their butt carried to G-Rank)

Ich versuche zu Beginn immer, zuerst alle 3 Buffs zu holen, bevor ich ihn angreife. Da die Buffs 120 Sekunden und der Rage Mode von Teostra 100 Sekunden halten, fangen die 3 Farben in der Regel an zu blinken, wenn er kurz davor ist, die Supernova einzusetzen.
I don't understand how you make it seem so easy and calm. Whenever I try these things it's like a frantic 10 minutes of rolling and flailing all over the place :P
I always thougt that this kind of runs were impossible to your avarage hunter (like me) until I give it an honest try, while it took me twice as long to solo it (25 min run) it wasn´t as hard or stressful as i thought i would. So I recomend all hunters to solo at least once your gq 140, it is a very awesome feel when you finally complete it for the first time.

Es sind auf jeden Fall mehr Lv140 Videos geplant, aber das braucht alles seine Zeit. Die optimale GQ zu erhalten (Monster spawnt im ersten Gebiet etc.) und diese hochzuleven sowie die passende Ausrüstung zu farmen dauert schließlich 'ne Weile ;)

I noticed that you put 3 Bomb Boost Jewels on the Chest and I'm puzzled as to why. With those slots you can get Latent Power +1. I understand Latent and Challenger don't stack, but Latent will never override Challenger (The important skill), as Challenger has a higher skill priority. You can't really do anything else with those slots, and Latent Power is a free skill. There's always the small, tiny chance of it activating when Teo's not enraged. Edit: Btw, epic hunt! Subscribed xD
Fabin Shen I usually gem in Bombardier when using the Crimson Fatalis glaive, which has 2 slots, that's why. As for Latent Power, I don't think that it would've had any significant impact on the hunt, so I didn't bother gemming it in.

CantaPerMe Jesus. Watching your video inspired me to attempt soloing my Teostra quests to 140 because he's my favorite monster in 4U, but I've only killed 40 so far. I have a very, very long way to go... Also inspired me to throw away my Evasion+3 crutch! I was using the same set of skills that you had in the video, but gave up after dying a bit too often.
thedragonFELL maybe you should try using Evasion +1 or +2 first instead of giving up on the skill completely? That way you'll gradually get more used to the more narrow time window you have for evading an attack.
whats up with the glaive having HG earplugs?? what buff makes that possible, and nice dodging on those claw swipes, coulda sworn u had evasion on for some of them

Draen I've beaten the time in this video countless times already. As a matter of fact, the times in my videos usually weren't my records to begin with but just my average killing times. Haven't managed to beat Teo in less than 11 minutes though, my best time so far is 11'10

how do you send your insect out immediately without needing to draw your weapon? (7:39) i can do that when i'm not moving (R+X) but when i am moving it forces me to do the draw action where you slam you weapon to the ground you're amazing btw. i strive to be like you (>#.#)>
Love the way you use the weapon, if only insect glaive does not have that pole vault attack, this weapon will be perfect. Hate to see newbs flaunt their "skills" at mounting.

IG's infinite combo is a powerhouse and CB does some decent damage as well. The hammer is a cool weapon, but only a few people play with it and it can't compete in terms of DPS :/ Players use IG, CB, GS and HBG (+ 1 LBG) for speedruns and general fast kills.
Ossi Oswald ... HAMMER can't compete? That thing nuked everything else out of the water for dps in unite. What the hell have they done since I left? :| As far as I can tell IG is super agile, are you sure it outdamages hammer? It's not just hammer's reach and lack of mobility making it situational?
Shinkada Lindwyrm Hammer is still a good weapon, but I'm pretty sure that GS and IG are better for DPS. I'm not 100% sure though, but I've never seen a Hammer speedrun that was faster :/ We should wait for Canta to answer here, he is something like a MH god :3 (There are still some cool Hammer runs and it's definitely playable!)
Ossi Oswald I used to be, fond memories of chatting with Akubarix and competing for speed runs on the Minegarde forums. :b Stayed out of gen 3 because I didn't like it but I got a 3DS for cheap so I figure it's about time for a return. Always handy to know what the top tier weapon/s is/are even though I plan on getting good with everything like I used to be. Truth be told I don't actually like hammer's moveset all that much, but its damage potential was addictive. Or I didn't anyway, I don't actually remember what they did to its moveset.
Hammer is still a top tier weapon in MH4U, at least in my opinion. Problem is just that, with the battles generally being more fast paced than in MHFU, it's somewhat harder to perform precise attacks which is why you don't see many good hammer players around. In the hands of the right person though hammers still wreck everything.
Okay, I've been observing Teostras as I fight them and have yet to see it, does he give a tell when he's about to use his Final Flash attack? Or is it just about knowing the timing from when he goes into rage mode?
I'm VERY sensitive to game balance, and this weapon just seems to be the top dog....kinda irks me.... Maybe I just need to use it and find out that it's actually fairly difficult to use efficiently?
Buttered Funnybiscuit Nah, it's actually pretty easy to use imo, I'd even say that it's somewhat overpowered even without the jumping attack. Mastering it is a different matter though.
So is the area somewhere around his back legs a safe spot to be when he does the small explosions around him? I always have a hard time avoiding them. How do you know which explosion pattern he's going to use?

I have same armor set except with no Grand Divine Ire Mask. I used Gore Helm X and it gives me same skills plus Bio Researcher. Which should help a lot with this fight.
CantaPerMe My mistake. I did get those 4 skills (BioResearcher, HonedBlade, Challeger +2, and RazorSharp) however, it's very charm dependent, i have a +6 sharpness and 2 slots. My weapon also had 2 slots. Sorry!
So i only have to connect it to my new3DS and then i record the hunts from the pc? Sry for the insistence btw but i prefere to ask to somebody who already used it :)
That's pretty much it. My invoice contained a link to a site where I could download a simple program which shows the 3DS screens on your PC and is capable of recording it.

His supernova always occurs 100 seconds after entering rage mode. Since the IG buffs last 120 seconds, I can tell that he's about to use the supernova when the 3 colours start to blink.

Ohhh mk. I mean that makes sense, thus far however, except against this damn thing, I've found that when they draw aggro, it gives me a little breathing room, but you are clearly better than I am at this, so I will take your word for it.
Zaimulwaie the Insect Glaive does not depend on mounting, it is an extremely powerful weapon even without the ability to perform mounting attacks at will but many people overlook the fact that it's a dps monster because its gimmick overshadows that. I'm a dude btw, can't blame you though since my character is female.
I too, have survived the blast several times. Half the times though is due to Moxie or Defender activating. Not that it helps since it's a guaranteed stun which; if he's focusing on you, will surly take you out unless allies heal you.
Alexander Whapples If you mean Might-seeds instead of Mega DemonDrugs, that's because DemonDrugs last until you die, but don't stack with the Attack up L from eating, Seeds last for 3 and a half minutes, and give more of an attack boost than demon drugs.

Peter Job edemaster will negate the attack skill. (also negates negative attack skill which is useful if you want to make the edgemaster + sharpness set in high rank)

+KorewaZombie123 None of this is risk. It's all calculated and rehearsed. I've seen Canta try to get sub 15 on SnS for hours on two different streams.

Halt dich bei Möglichkeit immer rechts von ihm, ansonsten gilt das Übliche, beobachte das Monster, analysiere sein Verhalten und erkenne die Lücken.

About 650+ kills on both the japanese and western version combined. Strangely, I still feel like there's room for improvement.

I've seen many people with the back of their IG glowing blue and some people have it glowing orange. What is that due to? Anybody know? I would really like to find out
Its color depends on the kinsect it has, most of them glow blue because of the glaive having the effect extender kinsect.

Love the way you use the weapon, if only insect glaive does not have that pole vault attack, this weapon will be perfect. Hate to see newbs flaunt their "skills" at mounting.

What are the DPS levels of weapons like? I haven't played since Unite. Is Hammer still undisputed God of weapons?
IG's infinite combo is a powerhouse and CB does some decent damage as well. The hammer is a cool weapon, but only a few people play with it and it can't compete in terms of DPS :/ Players use IG, CB, GS and HBG (+ 1 LBG) for speedruns and general fast kills.
Ossi Oswald ... HAMMER can't compete? That thing nuked everything else out of the water for dps in unite. What the hell have they done since I left? :| As far as I can tell IG is super agile, are you sure it outdamages hammer? It's not just hammer's reach and lack of mobility making it situational?
Shinkada Lindwyrm Hammer is still a good weapon, but I'm pretty sure that GS and IG are better for DPS. I'm not 100% sure though, but I've never seen a Hammer speedrun that was faster :/ We should wait for Canta to answer here, he is something like a MH god :3 (There are still some cool Hammer runs and it's definitely playable!)
Ossi Oswald I used to be, fond memories of chatting with Akubarix and competing for speed runs on the Minegarde forums. :b Stayed out of gen 3 because I didn't like it but I got a 3DS for cheap so I figure it's about time for a return.
Always handy to know what the top tier weapon/s is/are even though I plan on getting good with everything like I used to be. Truth be told I don't actually like hammer's moveset all that much, but its damage potential was addictive. Or I didn't anyway, I don't actually remember what they did to its moveset.
Hammer is still a top tier weapon in MH4U, at least in my opinion. Problem is just that, with the battles generally being more fast paced than in MHFU, it's somewhat harder to perform precise attacks which is why you don't see many good hammer players around. In the hands of the right person though hammers still wreck everything.

Okay, I've been observing Teostras as I fight them and have yet to see it, does he give a tell when he's about to use his Final Flash attack? Or is it just about knowing the timing from when he goes into rage mode?
It's the latter. He used to give a tell in MH4 but they removed that in MH4G/U, which is bullshit imo.
Yeah. Something that dangerous really needs to have an indicator, that's kinda cheap.
I'm VERY sensitive to game balance, and this weapon just seems to be the top dog....kinda irks me....
Maybe I just need to use it and find out that it's actually fairly difficult to use efficiently?
Buttered Funnybiscuit Nah, it's actually pretty easy to use imo, I'd even say that it's somewhat overpowered even without the jumping attack. Mastering it is a different matter though.

So is the area somewhere around his back legs a safe spot to be when he does the small explosions around him? I always have a hard time avoiding them. How do you know which explosion pattern he's going to use?
You can tell from the dust he's spreading where the explosions are going to be.

I have same armor set except with no Grand Divine Ire Mask. I used Gore Helm X and it gives me same skills plus Bio Researcher. Which should help a lot with this fight.

CantaPerMe My mistake. I did get those 4 skills (BioResearcher, HonedBlade, Challeger +2, and RazorSharp) however, it's very charm dependent, i have a +6 sharpness and 2 slots. My weapon also had 2 slots. Sorry!
It's okay, I just tried it out myself and it turns out that I can use the Gore X Cap instead of Helm to get Bio Researcher as well.

That's pretty much it. My invoice contained a link to a site where I could download a simple program which shows the 3DS screens on your PC and is capable of recording it.

How'd you know how to stay away from the Nova in time? do you have a timer or any method? I feel like youre using the buffs.
Nova always occurs 100 seconds after he enrages, buffs last 120 seconds.

Zaimulwaie the Insect Glaive does not depend on mounting, it is an extremely powerful weapon even without the ability to perform mounting attacks at will but many people overlook the fact that it's a dps monster because its gimmick overshadows that.

Also depends on how close to the epicenter you are. I can survive the outer rim but not the center. Defense is 860 and +5 fire resistance.
I too, have survived the blast several times. Half the times though is due to Moxie or Defender activating. Not that it helps since it's a guaranteed stun which; if he's focusing on you, will surly take you out unless allies heal you.

Alexander Whapples If you mean Might-seeds instead of Mega DemonDrugs, that's because DemonDrugs last until you die, but don't stack with the Attack up L from eating, Seeds last for 3 and a half minutes, and give more of an attack boost than demon drugs.

And I think you can gem in attack up (s): 1 gem in the glaive, the lv3 gem, and I believe there's another unneeded slot.
Attack Up is useless since I already have Honed Blade, which includes Attack up (L).

Peter Job edemaster will negate the attack skill. (also negates negative attack skill which is useful if you want to make the edgemaster + sharpness set in high rank)
