I keep a bottle of howes in the mercedes for when the fuel filter needs changing as well, just run it straight. Seems easier than having diesel and additive in the car for those times when you need to replace a filter or purge our some water.
I run blend from the pumps with additives, when it drop below -20 I run couple gallons of 1 in tank just to be safe, only have a couple of days that hit -50 here in South Dakota
Nice work on your testing. But you consider testing your fuels at a lower temperature. I am a schaeffer oil rep and I’ve experienced all these competitive products in the field. At the end of the day. Treating your fuels as you have shown are much better than doing nothing, and then messing with a gelled truck for 1/2 the day. I’m particularly happy with the Soyshield & Carbon Treat products that Schaeffer offers. And not because I’m a rep for Schaeffer’s, but I’ve personally tried all these products. Keep these great videos going, & thank you for your content. Bob
What is Soyshield? We have a soybean plant going up here currently, and I'm anxiously awaiting the biodiesel. I'm sure it will bring a new learning curve with it. But can't wait to see the increased power, mileage & cleaning.
I run a bottle of 2 stroke oil in my om617 w116 every fill-up. I should really do the math on how much to run. The tank fills up to 20 gallons or so I think.
I am an hour from Canada. Our stations treat for -40F during the coldest part of winter. I sometimes will run number 1 but usually I just do the blend they sell for the date and add some Howes for lubricity.
@@andrewmiller6726I saw that too! I don’t know what it is good for as it doesn’t prevent gelling and apparently isn’t very good at adding lubricity either. I guess water separation only at this point. Powerservice seems to work not sure about lubricity.
It helps but it won't dry them, it'll just push the water around in circles at the end. The towel is the only working solution I've found that works quickly.

Solid video, I learned a few things!

Howes is horrible for lubricity according to Project Farm’s testing.

Best thing to dry bottles is the air blower from your air compressor.

I've been running two-stroke oil in my Cummins for 20 years. 520000 miles. I use an oz per gallon. I was wondering what you use per gallon
So in the end are you using only the 2-stroke marine oil or that plus the Howes or Diesel Treat?
Wouldn't your filter be cloudy by itself ? its basically a small tank in itself.
Dude we are putting this shit in a semi running a half gallon at a time.
Ok 🤷♂️ whats your point ?
Uhhhh
