@FireBenderKwyna In fact, the music style used in HW2 is Persio-Indic and is a homage to the old Sanskrit chants of Hindu-Buddhist culture. The composer of the entire soundtrack is Paul Ruskay*, and judging by his name he is not Middle-Eastern. *The person who posted this on TH-cam is not the composer, and he may or may not be from the Middle East.

Homeworld is like playing as Commander Cain from the original Battlestar series. You don't run from the enemy, you take them head on. And they fear you. Oh yes, they fear you.
Yeah the trick is to play with scaling difficulty, enter the game with 0 cruisers just one that is 95% complete, so that it doesn't get taken into account and you get fewer enemies :)

omg I'm so proud to have lived in the generation that spawned such videogames, so deep, so polished. The soundtrack of this masterpiece shall echo in eternity
I just reinstalled this game. It's been so long last time I played. This game is still impressive in all ways. The voice, music, graphics, gameplay. While all my friends were crazy about SC1, I played this, and showed it to them. They all went like, "whoa... this is what you call a WAR" XD Good Times
To all Homeworld players. If you want to experience a similar game, try O.R.B. (Offworld Resource Base) it's not as difficult as Homeworld (at least it wasn't for me), but it has it's tricky parts, and also it has nice graphics :) Hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. Have a nice day ;)
I remember When Bentus Blew the fuck up to save the mothership, then having to recover the damn fragments. This music just kinda gives you that atmosphere, that the enemy will do ANYTHING to fuck you over, and you got no time to loose
in case anyone is wondering, Homeworld 2's entire soundtrack is middle eastern style music. The guy who made it might also be middle eastern, judging by his name.
Favorite mission in any Homeworld game. Two motherships, two dreadnoughts, two armies placed on opposite ends of the chessboard, with Sajuuk in the center. With the forces surprisingly equally matched, it becomes less like a war for attrition and more like a game of chess.
@Kevooi I too would think the Progenitors would be a more suitable deity figure, it's just that the in game dialog of the Higaarans and Vaygr refers to Sajuuk as the the creator and the maker of all, which implies that they see Sajuuk as their deity figure. I guess that makes the Progenitors the deities of a deity.
@Kevooi I agree fully. I'd actually like to see the Progenitors show up themselves, if they somehow still exist that is. It'd be awesome to see more of their Keepers too. A sucker for big things in an RTS? You might wanna look up mine. ^^;
@UndyingNephalim If HW3 comes, they really should show us more of those really immensely huge constructs AND (my personal wish) introduce a VERY big Progenitor ship for scale shock. I'm a sucker for extremely huge things. D:
I always attack my enemies in HM2 when this music starts playing, sending many dreadnoughts, battleships and couple of battlecruisers... as well as my fortress and I begin the rape of their life =)
@descentfan hmm... when i finished the game I was sure I saw someone else's name under music credits. surname was something starting with an x. I searched for it now and it is apparently paul ruskay indeed. my bad. I also misjudged the music style as I've heard very similar in middle-eastern themed parts of games(like the arab faction campaigns in Total War) and media.

@Rudlavihelac Oh indeed it was - still is ! No sign of 3 though, which maybe a good thing as I don't think relic could recreate the same atmospheric soundtrack and goose pimple inducing game play!

I love how the Hiigaran deity is a giant gun orbiting a black hole...
Glory be to the Sajuuk-Khar.
Damn dude. Your SF game is even more dope knowing you're a Homeworld fan. Hope you can get music like this for it.
The way this music fits so perfectly into the whole "feel" of the Homeworld games is really quite amazing. Nothing short of art.
