If you have any doubts on which to buy always buy the 300. You will never regret having extra power

Very true, but sometimes it's nice to have the smaller and lighter body. My favourite Vespa is the 150 but I would have to use that on different roads than the 300 would be used on.

Great explanation! I found out another difference which may or may not be of interrest for American drivers: The Largeframe likes going straight a little bit more than the smallframe. Maybe not to the extent of a Harley but you can feel the difference. The smallframe on the other hand feels more "at home" in dense curvy downtown traffic zipping around corners and other vehicles like a rabbit. But on long straight roads it has a tendency to "float" around the middle line.
Here in Europe we have the Primavera/Sprint in 50/125/150ccm and the GTS in 125/300ccm which gives the option for owners of a 125cc-licence to choose between big and small, while the GTS125 is still a little quicker than the PV125.

I live part time in Thailand and they have the 150 Primovara, but also a 150 GTS.
Its the 300 GTS with the 150 engine.
    I love it!!!
Steel body, wider front and footboards, and looks killer nice.
I wish Vespa would offer it in the USA.
In Thailand it goes for 160,000 bht ($4,500)

I've probably watched every Video on TH-cam to figure out if I want the Prim or the GTS, but this ist the FIRST one that goes way beyond "take the 300, it's got more power!!". Thank you so much for also focusing on the small differences and things like seat position and weather or not my feet will reach the ground (which in the end is a limiting factor for many of us, and the point that currently concerns me most).

Keep in mind that in many jurisdictions a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license is required to operate a motorcycle or scooter whose engine has a displacement greater than 50cc. To get the endorsement you normally would have to pass a written and riding test, possibly even complete a motorcycle riding course (which is not a bad idea regardless of whether you need the endorsement). In part for this reason many people new to scooters start with a 50cc machine.

Hello, I am writing from Argentina.
I'm Sorry if my english isn't the best.
I have a Vespa Primavera 2017, and I've been a lot of time thinking to change it for a Vespa GTS300.
    But really, I'm not decided.
Because by my use of the scooter, I'm more than covered with the Primavera.
Sometimes I think about that extra power, (300 ccVs 150cc), to take my wife, with this extra power. Or perhaps to start doing longer trips.
But really, all this time with the Primavera, rarelly go out of town, or, ride with my wife on the Vespa to justify that change.
I think it is part of the desire to always climb a bit with motorcycles/cars,
Every time I look at the comparisons, they are all very clear on the differences, and really there are. But I have to see if in my case, they are justifiable for the change.
I will continue to see comparisons and comments, to define if the change is justified or not.
Thank you very much for the excelent comparision video!!!

300 with water-cooling engine might become troubles in the long run.
So my advice is that stay with air-cooled 150 unless you are determined to Go highway.

I’m driving a 2006 mint condition LX150, it is a wonderful machine, plenty of power for the city. In my book it is the ideal scooter. I prefer a motorcycle when I go on longer trips and need to get on the highway.

Is there big difference in riding comfort? Saddle softness? I have the Primavera 125 but sitting for 1 hour on it, your buts hurts. Is this the same with the 300?
Second question is about the springs? Does the 300 even out put holes better?
So in general, getting the 300 will improve driving confort a lot or not worth the extra cost?

I'd like to know whether either of these scooters can be legally driven with a regular drivers license and without a motorcycle license. I know this varies by state and I live in California. Also, is the required motorcycle license strictly enforced or can most people ride the bigger motor scooter as long as they are conservative with their speed?

Hello. I have a Primavera 150 and I’m very happy with it . The only thing I don’t like is the comfort of the suspension. Do you think that the 300 will give me more comfort as I ride in Lebanon where the roads are really in a very bad shape and I have lower back pain .
Best regards and thank you in advance for your help

    • @PeterLoweOne

    • @mr-mirk

unfortunately not, for more comfort you have to change the suspension (e.g. Bitubo, BGM, YSS)

just want to joy ride not too much on a highway. go to a store or local park. extra space is a plus. which one ? Also, can they go 'off road' ?

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I'd go with the 150. Also... while they're not designed for off-road use, and the tires are best for the street, they're definitely durable, and I wouldn't hesitate to cross a few dirt road shortcuts in them. Having said that, suspension travel, and tire traction would be things to keep in mind on any off-road shortcut.

Not too small at all! I commuted 100 to 200 kms daily for few months in vespa 150 top model without a single service for nearly a tear and not for another no maintenance at all for 2 year's. The scooter maintained a normal speed of 60 kmph to 80 kmph while cruising and 100kmph with slight rev. Very smooth scooter unlike anything other. Ride is luxurious.
