    I have had GREAT success with these controllers including sensors. Difference is I don't let it energize compressor directly, add in a line voltage contactor so it's only pilot duty. That's all it's tough enough for anyhow! 😃

    Great video i learned a few tips and tricks off of this. I am surprised they don't make the coil temp sensor a little more resilient to water. That guy in the background was belting out lyrics from whatever song it was haha.

    The company I work for handles around 400 Starbucks stores in our regions. I’ve had to warranty replace those r290 thermostats for their delfield units. I’ve seen more failures with that controller over the old mechanical ones

    I had a Masterbilt with one of those cold controls start acting up. Customer said the box was 70°f for two days. I get there and the box is 35°f. I was tempted to put an A12-700 in place since it's still a R134A unit, but it's still under warranty and the customer doesn't want me to "reinvent the wheel." ie doesn't want to pay for the call.

    I work for Coca-Cola
    And we started rolling out coolers with these temp controllers a few years ago, and they are complete garbage. Failure after failure. I keep track of all new placements in my service area, and only 2 machines with this controller have not seen failures.
    As soon as the warranty on these machines expire, I’m retrofitting manual controllers on all of them as they inevitably get called in for freezing drinks.

    Dave with stupid PG & E shutting off the power I wonder how many control boards and other hvac and refrigeration equipment has been affected by the constant on and off along with high cooling load. PG& E needs to get there f***ing act together. oh and dave my 24 year old Goodman GMP 075-3 is going on it's 25 year come January of 2020 of fathful service. I'm only having the A/C unit replaced with a 410A Condensor and Evap. The Furnace has been super great. Just did a control board because the old one was old and tired. My buddy from school who does HVAC came out and inspected my old Goodman and he's impressed how well it's holding up. I did buy a new heat exchanger for it and had it installed. This unit does not want to freaking DIE. Maybe I'll get a video of my furnace during a very cold Michigan winter. Kicking on and running a cycle. I'll take my old Beast of a furnace over some of the new junk on the market today. as i'm writing this it's 28°F (-2°C) with a freaking windchill of 22°F (-6°C). And it's a lovely 69°F in my house.

    Have you ever retro fitted a mechanical temp controller for one like you just installed?

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven’t but that would be the way to go if it’s not R290. The spark ⚡️ factor makes us use the solid state Tstat.

    Hi, I have a True GDM-12 and it’s running too cold, it’s freezing products. What do you think the problem? I checked the thermostat and there’s continuity. Could it something else that’s freezing the products?

    when we change out old evaps on older trues, true tells us we need new controller... you dont though. we never change them. the new fancy upgraded "smart"controller is what? $350? the OG anolog mechanical ones are better imho. $60 part always in truck stock. less to go wrong and trouble shoot later.

      @@NorCal-refrigeration You should be able to put a resistor inline on both signal circuits to make up the resistance from the incandescent bulbs and "trick" the flasher into working proper.
