@HVACR Survival i dont work on reefer equipment anymore....doesn't mean i don't enjoy learning or watching. You never know when something you learned will become useful and get you out of a jam.
true made that t stat to cycle comp.and fans for efficiency, but it ices up the coil with heavy use,the way you did it works great.thanks for the vid's.
Adding the relay is a very good fix , should come from the factory with one already but of course it would be more expensive to buy for the end customer ...
Been having some issues with the newer True GDM Coolers Temp controller. They didn't install the relay and had the controller feeding comp, cond fan an evap fan. They obviously started acting wonky and the warranties come with relays. Why not just install it at the factory and save money on warranty calls smh
I had a PC CPU cooling fan and heatsink combo that told me that it was "Only install qualify engineer". I am still trying to figure out how to install a qualify engineer into the heatsink.
@@HVACRSurvival I lose so many probes from hoshizaki and true usually under warranty usually freezer coil probes, very little from traulsen or bev-air. I've started only installing the dixell controller if not in warranty, now Emerson/Copeland and those usually last 5-7 years. They have a nice universal one just buy the voltage you want and you can use 1-3 probes and match almost anything out there. Hard in this case since there's no xr existing but I just run the wiring through the refrigeration line chase and mount it underneath in the back.
I'm curious because I get questions like this often, how does the time it took me to repair it affect your speed of repairing the same thing? I'm never in a race, I take my time and do it right. We charge by the hour and we don't get paid for callbacks.
Been out of the field for a few years, but now I am ready to revamp my HVAC/R career
That’s what I did 19 years in.
Nice fix. I appreciate the time and effort put into making these videos. Awesome stuff!
Much appreciated!
Thank you, Rick, for the great walk trough. You've been such a great help in becoming a good technician.
Thanks DJ, means a lot!
I have issued a Certificate of Qualification to install that thermostat.
😂👍👍🤙🤙
Precise and to the point. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Rick
Glad it was helpful!

Great video. Awesome progress.
That’s a nice retro fit kit true has makes you feel more confident that it will work properly
I think if the relay extends the controls life it could be a great control 👍👍
Thanks for the video Rick, I have installed a many controllers, but not one like that. Keep it up buddy.
Good meeting ya at AHR.
You must be Mike B?
@@HVACRSurvival yes sir
Great video. Your channel is one of my favorites.
I really appreciate you saying that! 🤜🤛👍👍
Nice job, I really like the control with the relay, wish they all were like that. Thanks for the video.
I think they might have done that on all the new ones. I got two to replace the two I used that day and they both had the relay.
@@HVACRSurvival Many thanks
Always learning from the masters, thank you.
🙏 I'm no master but thank you for your support🤜🤛👍👍
Nice work Rick. Please keep them coming when you can.
I have the AHR video for tomorrow.

Eww, I hate that type of control. I know they use the aux out for the ECM style fan from what I read.

Agreed 👍👍
Good job Rick.
🤜🤛👍👍
Great detail on repairs. Thank you.
Thanks 👍👍
Great video Rick!
Thanks my friend 🤜🤛👍👍
Nice job rick have done this same repair. Good info to put someone in the know.
🤜🤛👍👍
Hey Rick do you no the part number on that that. Also have you used it on under-counter coolers?
Nice work 👍👍👍
Great Video. Nice Work. Thank you for sharing
🤜🤛👍👍
Nice job, Rick! A little more work with the electronic control, I'm guessing they are more reliable? I stock an A121560 Ranco constant cut in at 39.
I have those Ranco controls but I have had several customers call us back not happy with the operation. So I try to go OEM if possible.
great video
Thanks for checking it out!

That's "True" 😉
Awesome content
Thank you!

Good little fix Rick ... Thx for posting ... Live streaming this weekend ?
I don't think so because the super bowl will draw most people away
Can we get s link for the door jamb?
I don't have anything set up with them 😞. It's a good item. I would just mention that I sent the work their way.

What is a good thermometer or temp probe to get to use for reach in cooler s/evaporator temps?
I really like my yellow cooper atkins stick with the thin tip, it measures quicker than normal and is very accurate. amzn.to/40ZCneG
@@HVACRSurvival is that one good for air temp or just for stabbing the food itself?
@@brandonmickelberg6787 it works good for both, I don't like the big fat ones that take forever to reach final temp.
What is the part number on the temp control? Thanks
I'll have to look for you.
Curious about where you got your meter leads? I have the probe master leads but the head seems to be too fat for getting into deeper lugs. Thanks
Use a bench grinder, that's how I got them that way.
Good video brother
Thanks Doug!
"twist twist twist, SNAP" fuuuuuuuuuuu 🤬
You'll be back to replace those probes in a few months 🤣🤣🤣
I have a few progress😁, I've lost more controls than the probes.

Digital controls are better than the old analog controls by a mile I converted my fridge to a digital control.
