For all the people with the negative comments on this diesel, you should educate yourselves on diesel engines. Especially the 7.3 Powerstroke used in the older Fords. This is a direct injection International diesel that is often used in trucks much bigger than the Excursion. In fact, the Excursion and the F-250 were the smallest vehicles this engine was stuffed in. I have a 97 F-350 crew cab 4x4 that I purchased new and a 2003 Excursion. Both with the diesel, but the 03 is intercooled.
I had a 2005 Excursion Limited incredible vehicle! I had mine lifted and was then rear ended by a Honda Civic my trailer hitch went completely through the hood of the Honda, I replaced the ball on my hitch because it was destroyed no other damage to my vehicle.
By FAR my favorite vehicle. I love the F-Series trucks of this era. This is actually my dream vehicle I'd love to have someday. As I currently just got an 05 Rav4 S not a bad SUV. But I am more of a truck guy as I may get my Dad's Silverado sometime next year. But man I love the 7.3L and even though I love the 7.3L Trucks just the cargo area and how many people it can hold and THE FACT THAT IT'S A DIESEL SUV is what has always made this my all time no joke favorite vehicle ever. Man if I get one just like this one here with a 7.3L I'M KEEPIN IT FOREVER! lol. But no joke if I do it may end up being the last vehicle I ever get if well it blows up on me but very unlikely to happen with proper maintenance haha. But this is my all time favorite dream vehicle I'd love to have one day.
this thing is huuuge!! my mom like BIIIIG cars! she has a ford expedition, raised! im going to try to buy this and give it to her.. this thing is the king of suvs!
I use a programmer on the 7.3. I can add 40, 60 or 80 extra hp depending if I am towing heavy loads, under 3000lb loads or no loads respectively. The programmer improves all characteristics of the truck including MPG. I keep mine on the 40 hp setting and at 112 Km/h (69.6 mph) on a GPS I get just under 24 mpg on a canadian gallon of fuel (1.2 US gallons). As for performance, it hauls! At 160 km/h (100 mph) the speedo dropped to 0 and odometer went blank. Still climbing after 170 km/h on GPS.

Kobe Monteclar in 2005 it was marked at 59,500 or so I believe, in today’s money that’s around 90-110,500$ in today’s terms.. and mint used unit still sells for around 32,500$ due to low supply and high demand.
If I had one of these Excursions, I want it to be cheap with low miles and it’s got to have a 7.3 liter v8 because the 7.3 sounds more like a straight-piped 6.0 liter that would last forever and I want to make it look like the Excursion from the movie “Logan”
I love how this weighs more than 8500 pounds and therefore the EPA cannot even give it a fuel economy rating. My friend had one of these before he got a sequoia and he said he got about 9 miles per gallon most of the time.
@jakeroot2 I think it shares the 6.7L Powerstroke. Actually, you can pick the engine you want, just at a higher costs., but I'm pretty sure they shaved off 2~4MPG putting the whole thing together :). I'd revise the rear seats though.
@bigdaddy1388 depends on your needs. the 3 numbers after F which is the series is the payload amount. f-150 can hold around 1500 lbs of payload, f-250 can hold around 2500 lbs of payload, f-350 can hold around 3500 lbs of payload and f-450 can hold around 4500 lbs of payload, not saying it can't hold slightly more than it says. i have a 2009 ford f-250 diesel king ranch, can tow about 12,000 lbs. I have a 11,575 lb boat so i'm right on the border line. more payload amount, less fuel economy.
I think that has had a accident where the airbag deployed. If you look at the steering wheel, the airbag cover is beige, and the wheel is black. It's had better days, though. 235,000 miles is around 290,000 - 300,000 Kms.
To compare my 24 mpg, a friend has one with the V-10 and gets 12-14 mpg. My calculations are based on the odometer reading on my GPS which is slightly less than my vehicles odometer. I have a Mazda MPV and a Mazda Tribute and they cost the same and more in fuel (the MPV gets about 22 mpg Canadian). As for room, I just hauled a full size over stuffed couch AND love seat, along with it's 12 cushions, luggage, and more. They can tow 11,000 lbs. Also, diesel don't loose as many mpg when towing.

@bigdaddy1388 well the f-150 is good, it can tow about 10,000lbs but what most people don't know is that the max limit tha the car manufacter lis for towing is what that vehicle can tow stressfully meaning high rpm's to get moving and occurd shifting. So basically what i'm saying is that if you need to tow 10,000 lbs, get something that can tow little bit more than 10,000 lbs. I have a ford f-250 superduty king ranch 4x4 and it can towing 12,500 max (stressfully) and i have a 11,575 lb boat.

@datboiwes3 it is just a conwensadince it's the deisel engine we are talking about.
